Welp, I think it's time to take a long break from Dota until Valve fixes MM or GD finishes their client. (last 3 games these were the lowest). Games not fun anymore, oh well.

What?

GD said they were working on an ICCUP style client.

Pretty straightfoward, I am getting matched with brand new players consistently and there is no way I somehow became that bad at the game that I am at a beginner MMR.

I was talking about the bold "GD finishes their client" part

First step for improving is stop blaming others. If you focus on everybody else you won't see your mistakes, you will do more mistakes, that leads to more frustration and with frustration there is no improvement and your play is below what you can do.

This has nothing to do with blaming others, I am getting matched with people who don't know where the secret shop is or how to upgrade the courier. They aren't in my skill bracket either because they literally just get farmed all game, I could understand if somehow I got terrible at the game and I was in their MMR but everyone else in my games are hovering between 300-1000 wins and literally stomp shit all over these people with <50 games. Last game one of them fed 20 kills before 15 minutes and the lane they were in just came and rolled the entire team.

There is a clear difference between a low skilled veteran and a completely new player

You must be humble, for if you are pride, you will stagnate.
Pride leads to blaming others, blaming others leads to anger, anger, anger leads to rage, rage leads to frustration and frustration will let you stagnate at your current skill level.

I still think you should stop focusing on others and on valve and instead try to win games. There is only one way to improve your rating and that is with winning. Even if there is a total scrub in the game you can still win it.

Do people here actually think most games are winnable? I understand the idea of trying to improve your own play being possible all the time, but i'd love to know how people win when the score is like 2-10 at 10 mins and you have a level 3 darkseer in the jungle (happened to me last night).

its not if its winnable or not. its whether you try. even its 0.01% chance of a win, it is still a chance. it really says something about yourself.

I want the enemy to fight for the win and I wont just roll over and die even if its only me whos left defending.

I would like to thank Yoichi Hiruma for the inspiration.

Question: Who is the worst pro player that you commonly see in pubs? I think i'm 4-0 against Brax.

I don't. But you can still learn from those games. The best improvement comes when you lose.

People are too fixated on winning. It gets frustrating when you go on a loss streak but I guess that's just human ego or something. It would be best if you view each game as a way to improve instead of a loss or a win.

Also to the guy above, I would LOVE to see you being matched up against people with 20 wins without you having someone on your team with the same amount of wins. Provide replays if you care, please.
You must gather your party before venturing forth.

Games are always winnable. Giving up at 10 min because score is 2-10 is fullish and weak if you ask me.

You see, people make mistakes, that's how you come back. Or it's up to you to make plays if it is possible.

if there are noobs on your team that means there are probably noobs on their team too, those games are always winnable but you have to pick heros that can win those games, things like tree wont do anything if the other players are too noob to utilise it

There is an influx of brand new players due to dota being "released" now. If they all face off against each other, then some of them are going to get to decent MMRs temporarily. So for the time being, be prepared to teach frequently. Don't act like an arrogant prick and start whining as soon as someone doesn't know something (even if it is common knowledge). If you are nice about it, then they will improve (even within the current game making you more likely to win), it will make your game more enjoyable (because you aren't focusing on how much this guy sucks, you are seeing someone improve which is satisfying), and it will make the general skill level rise (you might see the same guy one day, or he might help another newbie which you play against, etc).
The only barrier to truth is the presumption that you already have it. It's through our pane (pain) we window (win though).

Welp, I think it's time to take a long break from Dota until Valve fixes MM or GD finishes their client. I haven't had a game in a few days without a brand new player on either team who ends up feeding 10-20 deaths, I'm at 402 wins and 389 losses, I shouldn't be matched with people who have 14,9,20 wins. (last 3 games these were the lowest). Games not fun anymore, oh well.

I still think you should stop focusing on others and on valve and instead try to win games. There is only one way to improve your rating and that is with winning. Even if there is a total scrub in the game you can still win it.

You must be humble, for if you are pride, you will stagnate.
Pride leads to blaming others, blaming others leads to anger, anger, anger leads to rage, rage leads to frustration and frustration will let you stagnate at your current skill level.

:D is that a quote? wise words idd.

Do people here actually think most games are winnable? I understand the idea of trying to improve your own play being possible all the time, but i'd love to know how people win when the score is like 2-10 at 10 mins and you have a level 3 darkseer in the jungle (happened to me last night).

Provide replays if you care, please.

i wouldnt know about this because i dont really know or even care how much wins my teammates have. i dont even check. i also get frustrated if i get 'noob' teammates but that doesnt make me give up.

Hmm, I haven't lost a pub match with/against a confirmed pro yet, so I can't say for sure. Though Demon's pudge is horrendous.
