IRC chatter should remain in IRC - http://webchat.quakenet.org/?channels=tl.dota2 Posts that relate to topics with their own thread, such as in News, Tournaments or Strategy should go in those threads.

It's the only way to keep your sanity on Garena when not playing with friends. Hence why I queue multiple languages in the first place because I probably won't say much anyway and as long as I can understand what's being said, I'm fine.

I got into it 2 weeks ago, started with betting only 2 rare items. 21/30 bets won, 55 rares won, 17 rares lost. I have to admit betting has made watching dota 2 exponentially more entertaining. I dont have a favourite team. I usually just looked at the picks and whichever team had more heroes I liked I wished they´d win. By investing few useless cosmetics I find myself actually cheering for a team(for the series) and I find that pretty great. Its also fun to trade the stuff you win for the stuff you want instead of just buying it from the store.

Play pick up dota 1 Europe. The amount of racism is hilarious. No Nazi, no jew, no russian, no commie, etc. I have watched 2 random teams go at it before the game even starts over some of the most trivial shit, to use a 80 ping hostbot or a 70 ping hostbot while I sit at 200ish ping from US East. D-L.com was pretty good about punishing for that kind of stuff, the IRC pick ups obviously nobody regulates.

It's just wrong. It's a failure on part of the game devs. I honestly think it ruins the game experience for many normal/casual gamers just trying to enjoy some dota. I always hear complaining about it when I talk to dota playing friends IRL. Always. Always. Always. Russians. They should be able to do something. There has to be some kind of solution for this.

....At least in games like this, the russians are nicer and know a bit better English.

Unless valve has magic, they can't really do a lot about the issue. There is no way to know what language people speak or force them to a different server because of their region. I mean, they could just say "No NA server for you", but that wouldn't stop you from playing with people in NA that don't speak english.

"can't really do a lot about the issue" is just silly. There are a thousand things they could do. They all have drawbacks. But are the drawbacks that bad? I don't believe so.

The rest gets into their weird racist territory where they start filtering by what language people speak.
