If indeed a foreign team could move, than that could be easy money pretty much for any tier 2 EU/Chinese/SEA team, if they would be the only foreign team there. MVP is a Korean organization picking up a Korean DoTA2 team? Unless I'm missing something here

Have you ever played with REAL "beginners" since you are decent/good/awesome? I know that BM is strong and also like to play him from time to time (but mostly as dire offlane). But have you ever seen what happens in a ranged vs melee "mid" at the newb level? I have.. DON'T LET IT HAPPEN (still got traumata from these few games with my friends that never played a moba before :p).... There will allways be a Viper in game, because Viper is a "sick easy win imba hero"... You don't want to be a melee hero vs Viper in mid. Seriously, i think you forget HOW bad real newbies (the ones that really need tutorials) actually are. I guess there is a reason Valve took a hero like Sniper with only 1 active before 6. Beastmaster is insanely bad in the newb Meta because pretty much no one will follow up on Gank/Initiation (even if you tellt hem via teamspeak + chat + ping). and the Hawk will be useless because they don't have the time to watch the minimap or don't react to it anyway... Btw: Thinking of it now.. Thinker would actually have been a pretty "fun" hero for a mid tutorial... 3 pretty straightforward spells, decent animation. Actually usefull at about every skill-level AND he actually is mainly played as a mid hero.

So It would make sense to have the leagues be open as you're still fostering a community by having the lower tier leagues and then the upper tier where you might have a team like Orange come in, that only helps the Korean teams in the long run.

No. First of all, we have costs of our own invested into all this. If this kind of thing was easy, then we wouldn’t be the only remaining league like this. We’ve hired a programmer full-time to support our endeavors in this, we have our own software for the league, and we also need testing for the software. We also have people working full-time in organizational and moderation efforts for CDEC, and we have server rental costs, as well as prize money for participants. source: http://dotaland.net/2013/06/20/more-cdec-details-stream-links-future-league-direction-etc/ Quite an interesting read.

I was thinking last night and I came up with an idea. What if Valve could implement some kind of system that increased the chance to queue you with people from the same country, so even if russians queued on US W for example, they'd get an all russian game. This might work much better after the game is released and there are a lot of players online, so there shouldn't be a huge skill disparity between players. What do you think about this? if people cross queuing is bad, people want region lock, but that stupid compared to the elegant solution: When you queue for multiple servers at once it prioritizes the one with the smallest ping. so if a russian queues for everything they get russia server before US/EUW and if a chinese queues everythign they get china/sea before rus. ect ect. it allows cross region play (just queue for the server you want to play on) while also weeding out the people who just queue every server

This would also encourage users to play all 3 and get more practice. You'd have people used to trying different heroes and not have all these players choosing the tutorial hero. You'd have players realize how different it is to control and last-hit with different heroes.

Playing mid sniper isnt going to make u better. Beastmaster is the archetype of a mid hero.

Yeah they used to have Red, Blue and White. Then they dropped one and renamed White to Ozone which is the team that won the latest OGN league over there.

They are for people who never played a moba game before and have no fucking idea what they're supposed to be doing. There will probably be more advanced tutorials and guides later on, but definitely not at this point, when they want to have the game ready to be released to the wide public.

People aren't going to use them for practise or play through them several times, at least not anyone sane is going to.

Beastmaster is the archetype of a mid hero. You're crazy, the tutorials are for the people who have never played a game of Dota before. "That would teach how to play mid. You have a strenght hero, not dependant on wards, that can push the lane to get the rune. I would suggest you to play some." You even mentioning pushing the lane, runes and wards shows that you have the wrong idea what this tutorial is for. It's not a tutorial for newbies to train mid, it's a tutorial to introduce the actual game (unlike the first tutorial which introduced buying etc). You have your tower, opponent tower, creeps meeting in the middle. Goal is to destroy to opposing tower. More or less, it's a "How to lane" tutorial.
