On SEA, based on my friend. All of the game are always won on Rox.kis side unless if the EG side is 5 man stack
I personally have never witnessed the EG side winning the Compendium match. Playing Trilane right is too hard for pubs, Bat wins vs. Magna and Jugger wins vs Nightstalker. Even if it doesn't happen exactly like that, Bat and Gyro can snowball much easier than Magna and Trilane Luna.
About learning from past games, I think it's irrelevant whether or not you win or lose close or in a stompy fashion. That is because you don't have to only learn from you own play. I have learned plenty from watching replays of the people who mobbed the floor with my team. Then I learned from that. For example it is hard to know if your lane is advantaged. Most people play rather defensive as a result. I learned mistakes and how to punish them mostly from replays. I also learned the majority of heroes like that. I don't think Dota has changed so much that this method is suddenly not viable anymore.

I think if you MM for Captain's Mode you'd find a more serious set of players.

Yeah dota is a game where knowledge has a huge role in pub games and sometimes you have to experiment to know if you can 1v1 this heroe. Sometimes I know that in this particular match up the ennemy would destroy our lane if they play agresssive but they just keep trading last hits for creeps, neevr really going for the kill.

...Maybe not, I'm not brave enough to try it. =/
I played one game of CM thinking that. Nope. 4 carries picked, troll bans. GG
On another note, I love the new Venge, feels so much stronger than before. The str increase really helps a lot.
Has anybody else considered a casual Soul Booster as an alternative to Linken's as a farming item on heroes who would traditionally get it, such as Morph and Medusa?
It gives no damage, 2 less hp regen, 50% less mana regen, and no spell block, but provides 165 more health, 205 more mana, and costs 1875 gold less. That difference in price is almost a Yasha (2050 gold). It seems especially logical on Medusa, since the spell block is less likely to be the difference between life and death than it would on a Morphling (who could Waveform or Morph Replicate with the extra reaction time), and who probably benefits more from the extra raw hp and mana. It also means you don't get to build an early Ring of Health in lane, but you can instead build Arcane Boots, which can help in different ways.

I'd say the high level stack matchmaking in DotA is much more competitive than HoN's. HoN gets ultra-clowny these days. Compare the 5-stack or solo queue games Barnyyy does on his "real" account (best example of a not-quite-pro player) does to the ones professional HoN players do and you see a huge difference.
There may be a relative dip in seriousness around the 1700-1800 MMR range, I suppose, but at the highest level DotA 2 is more serious for the most part.

Am I stupid for considering this?
I think you're not really taking into effect why the linkens is good
Those heros benefit from all the stats directly, they HIGHLY benefit from the spell block because it makes them even more of a pain in the ass to gank and stop their farming.
There's also the fact that soul booster builds into nothing useful, where linkens is a finished item

It does give damage? 15 stats iirc is 15 damage.
ANd the spellblock can be huge, think of it potentially blocking a sheepstick

or you're facing an AM and it blocks mana void . There are a lot of abilities + initial CC's that the spellblock is huge for. Its even bigger for morph than medusa since it could be the diff between being cc'd and dying, or getting a block and replicating out.

It also does give damage. +10 raw damage, +15 from stats and +15 AS, so the damage difference between a Linken's and a Soul Booster is actually not insignificant.
Edit: I also feel compelled to point out the Soul Booster + Battle Fury build on Medusa which gives you about a five minute period of incredible potency in exchange for any hope of carrying outside those few minutes.

Not in any way, first CM game I had a guy rq'ed on my team because we didn't pick what he wanted.
Anybody else having the problem that certain animations just don't appear? Tusks ice shards flight animation doesn't appear in my current game, Rubicks auto attacks don't appear when I am playing him. It's really crappy.
