the damage loss on berserker's blood isn't that big of a deal. it hurts his early game damage output a bit but that's more than made up for with the buff to burning spears and his bonus magic resist. lategame attackspeed is more valuable than damage anyway so he's actually stronger there than before
honestly huskar probably plays around the same as before except now he's less vulnerable to nukes. maybe skip hotd now but it's still nice for stacking ancients and killing magic immune things (like ancients) treads/phase + wand > hotd > armlet > bkb > crit/satanic/heart/halberd/abyssal both of those items are significantly worse on huskar now than before.

Since then the recipe cost has gone down and the slow is no longer a unique attack modifier, and it can now build into something other than s+Y. Not getting into the sange vs armlet debate, just saying sange has changed since it was called the most useless item in dota.

Armlet is still really good on Huskar because when incoming damage is really low it becomes really easy to Armlet toggle (though kind of annoying because you still die if you fuck up, everything is just doing 1 damage to you).
BKB...ehh. I think the main thing is that the new Huskar wants to soak up a few spells for his team because he can do so very well. I dunno, I'll have to see about this one.

Well, yes, but the main point was that it was never a good damage item, and its damage hasn't really changed. The fact even Str carries that go SnY go for it mainly for the Yasha, and ussually get the Yasha first, shows it still isn't really a great item by itself. I don't think anyone hardly ever goes for a Sange specifically.
I can sort of see BKB being "less useful", since magic damage is less meaningfull, but not being disabled at low health is still key for Huskar. Depending on the oponents team it should definatelly be core. But I don't understand the logic behind Armlet being worse. If anything, now that you get atk speed instead of damage, high damage items are even more effective than before.

It gives extra health, gives great raw damage, gives attackspeed, gives armor. I don't see why you wouldn't get it.

bkb's good cus huskar has one of the highest rightclick damage outputs in the game and he has awful attack range
|
BKB's good because he's a carry that can be stunned easily.
This is pretty much true of any carry that can be stunned easily with relatively few exceptions.

It gives extra health, gives great raw damage, gives attackspeed, gives armor. I don't see why you wouldn't get it. because you don't. need the raw damage or attack speed. not REALLY. there are better ways to spend the money on huskar now. he's not someone you build a lot of attack stuff and go ham, not anymore. you are buying armlet to toggle it for survival purposes for huskar, not for the damage. a ghost scepter provides similar capabilities of survival for 1k less, while items like mek provide significant team utility with less survivability but for cheaper. so you need to find a balance of that survivability with team utility in order to be the focus of the enemy team while surviving long enough to allow for victory in those fights. early on huskar is effective at killing, but in team fights just killing isn't going to be enough, he's too volatile to be a 1 position carry. so you put him on that 2 position utility role, that can also kill. something like how clockwork is built. aghanims lets him dodge spells every 4 seconds and inflict massive damage on the enemy team, mek lets him protect his team and allow him to regain health as needed. ghost scepter lets him temporarily stall his own death, casual cloak lets him be more aggressive at high health, stuff like heavens halberd lets him attract the big spells of the enemy while still being incredibly survivable. evasion when the only thing you worry about killing you is physical damage, is very strong. disarm under the same circumstances is amazing. items like pipe or AC let him protect his team while being more and more difficult to kill, making him a higher priority in fights.
IN summary:
Good: Halberd Mek aghanims ghost scepter AC Pipe ect.
Bad: BKB Deso daedalus Abyssal Blade Shadow blade MKB

This is pretty much true of any carry that can be stunned easily with relatively few exceptions. There are plenty of carries that are ok being the hero that takes that first round of spells rather than turning on BKB and avoiding them. E.g. Razor.
Given that Huskar traded farming power and straight damage output for a survivability passive. I can see him falling under this category.

Is it worth talking about the role of a hero that isn't in cm and likely will be changed quite a bit before he returns to cm?

To me, it seems like he is too vulnerable of being chain stunned once he is half HP and focused with whatever physical damage exists (IE a lifestealer or whatever).
I think its worthy of considering it situational based on lineups.
