As an off-laner, your chance of finding solo kills is pretty slim regardless.
Think about it like Clockwerk--mid lane Clocks will often max Battery Assault first, but this is far less frequent on an off-lane Clock because the chance of making good on the Battery Assault solo-killing ability compared to the general utility of your other skills is small.

I can agree that without a level advantage Greater Bash is the worse choice.
I just like midbreaker too much from my time spent playing HoN to give it up.

well rampage's charge is a blinkstrike so you don't actually have to level it and in hon you level his passive over his bash anyway

Now we gotta guestimate 1200 range for those wodota yoloscope blink RPs.

Sure hope valve reverses that change. Range displays are good for the game imo.

Dang well that sucks...guess Volvo doesn't like me feeling like hot shit for hitting sick blinks despite being bad at this game

Just curious about that, how so? I have no preference as to if they are in the game or not but I don't really see how it is good for the game either.

or just take some time to learn ranges and do it like people have been doing since forever

So no hero patch. Volvo disband.
Timbersaw is legit.

Because not having it doesn't add to skill ceiling at all- just skill floor. You either hit the max range or get penalized down to 960 with no real in game way to figure it out. I'd be ok with not having it if blink dagger had a range when you highlight it but otherwise it's just an arbitrary limitation.

For wisp, dota_range_display 900 really helps with not breaking tether (and that's hard to judge at the very edge, and in a lot of fights you want to be as far away as possible). For clock, you'll bounce heroes within 300.

The first three words apply to nearly every single online game that pits players against each other. The fourth word, arena, doesn't even describe the DotA genre. Using that word implies an all-hostile area that dismisses territorial control and lane-pushing in DotA. Even RTSRPG or ActionRTS would be better (yet still lacking) acronyms. If anything, use DotA as a genre of its own. Please help stop the widespread use of the vague and misleading term MOBA! I LOVE YOU PAPER I LOVE YOU

Pretty much this. If the abilities had a range circle that I could train myself to, I wouldn't even bother using it. However since there is no way of adjusting to it visually in game I used the circle.
I'm fine with them removing it (and think the game is better for it) but I don't see why they can't have something for when you highlight the skills so you can at least adjust to it in game.
