He gets something similar to hvost by being picked off and making very poor decisions causing team to loose. When was the last time a mistake by Loda was big enough to lose them the game?
Loda does some clowny things but at the same time he's a significantly more active carry than most other and he has a much larger hero pool than everyone else. And having a larger hero pool does mean you will play some heroes worse.
Also people get into this rhythm of saying a player is bad and that makes their mistakes stand out more. Do people make as big of a deal of other people's mistakes? s4's had some real awful games lately, to a larger degree than Loda has, but you don't see the same level of hate.

Easier to blame a hard carry for the loss as well they're the hard carry, the damage dealer. If they fuck up its kind of game over, other players can afford to fuck up and it won't the lose the game or put them into such a bad position.
Mistakes on a hard carry are alot more unforgiving and memorable hence why people give Loda and HVOST shit for throwing.

On a side note, Bulldog's stream is amazing.

Not really true, see Demon and Bamboe. It's just that some players are, or have been, really inconsistent.

No prob, was just saying in general not to you specifically.
~
Rofl, guy on Bulldog's stream just dropped gem to pick up rapier and then tried to shadow-blade away and got killed by a PA who picked up his gem.

Hm.. I don't like this whole "flexibility" discussion. Why? The heroes you see carry "X" play is more likely influenced by the guy in charge of the draft, the overall gameplan and in general just how important he feels about certain picks and not that the carryplayer only knows how to play Naix and Gyro . What if your "signature" heroes are just not really viable (atm)? Morph, Siren, Medusa, Lycan, Tiny, Bloodseeker or most famously Meepo (+various others).... You might be the "chosen one" and shit awesome all over the map when it comes to one of these heroes, but what good does it for your team if your better off with a standard Naix/Gyro in 90% of the games?
Depending on how important certain heroes are for a certain teams you naturally will see wider variations on certain roles. I highly doubt you would see Loda play that many diffrent carries if they would not value the picks for their 2-4 roles so high.

Saying that someone doesn't play as many heroes doesn't mean they are unable to. They just don't, and that makes them less flexible regardless. We don't know the reasons, they clearly don't think it will work so they don't pick them.
If you replaced Loda with another carry player, you would not see the same variety. In that specific case, although it may be for some, it isn't "you play what you're given", because Loda has been known for this for a long time. (discounting his time in Zenith)
So, those carries like Loda or Illidain, are more flexible in the only way that we can identify it. I guess unpredictable is a better term.

Loda has improved a lot, there was a small amount of time where he got Midas on every hero(and as such was useless for the first 10-15min of the game) and tended to throw games a lot by having bad positioning but it has been happening less and less and as a result they win a lot more.
XBOCT hasn't really changed from what I can see.

XBOCT hasn't really changed from what I can see. Yeah, sometime around when they changed EE for EGM there was a big shift in how Loda played and he went from almost always going very greedy late-game to almost the opposite going almost always drums/etc early-mid game builds.

But on the other hand you get to farm up cool item builds like Dagon5/Eblade/Sheep/whatever and blink around instagibbing people.

anyway cwm is generally known as a player with a bad attitude and he team hops alot. I think he was on dignitas when it was a romanian (?) lowbob team but idk. Never heard of the guy ever since and I don't think he is a competitive player anymore? Comewithme being... comewithme can't surpise anyone.
Ly0n has been playing for various Romanian teams for a long time. Prior to Dignitas, he was in PHG - which became dignitas - TeG, IGG and maybe Stronk Turtle. Been around since at least 2009, and at his best he was quite good. Never, like, Fear/Misery/Kuroky good but certainly one of the stronger players in Europe.

Quoting from the King interview thread.

So there's that 'world champion' thread that just passes the crown around regardless of the tournament. Well we could do the same with 'all online tournaments' and just have a meta-tournament that has absolutely no weight but we could pretend that all of these meaningless online tournaments have a purpose. And then at the end of the year crown a champion with whoever got the most points. (or the community could pool some money and organize a show-match at the end with the top 2 teams, who knows)
It's like WCS except it doesn't kill all community efforts.

^ if we start at ti2 ima take a wild guess and say the title is with EG now

We could do it after the next international to crown the "winner" or go back to the TI winner or what?
Who starts being the champion
