it's actually fine to talk about because its common knowledge, the only shady thing was taken back and isn't practice. Riot pays for the payout and helps to run an event, in exchange they are the only AoS Style game at that event. MLG IEM took the money. Dreamhack did not. | ||

MLG signed a contract with riot saying no other dotastyle games can be at MLG which is too bad, and I hope MLG reconsiders it in the future, cause MLG is really the only american esports thing going on. | ||

NA DotA doesn't have enough visibility/popularity for MLG either way. IIRC Riot's S3 circuit caused organizations to back out of exclusivity anyway because of how non-circuit events are seein as "second-class" tournaments (note that ESL is now running DotA 2 events when previously they were also working with Riot), but MLG still hasn't used the opportunity to start running DotA. | ||
