Trean't doesn't really have any killing or harassing power, Omniknight doesn't either. It will only make sure that your Weaver won't die(which it shouldn't have problems with in the first place).

Emphasising Weavers strong harass ability and combining it with say a Venomancer makes the lane a lot stronger then with a Treant or an Omniknight imo. Omni/Treant feels too defensive.

If your treant isn't harrassing he's playing to his strength wrong.
as for omni repel and purification aid in dives significantly, and with a mobile mid or offlane/jungle those two offer great strength to a weaver. storm/prophet/enchantress ect.

Wait, you would run a lane with Omni/Treant/Weaver?

Could be funny verse a jungle+support+carry lane. Omni/tree go wander off into the woods and harass the jungler. Then they saunter back to the lane, and pick up a double kill from tower diving with OP heals and chasing.

no. we were discussion partners for weaver in a dual lane, i suggested that either omni or treant would do well with weaver specifically.

Hmm. alright, I still don't in particular like it, but that makes at least SOME sense.

I wonder why they don't balance heroes more often. For exemple batrider is permabanned or picked, just slightly nerf the slow of sticky napalm let's see what it gives. Or even more obivous, nyx is boring, it's fun to fight him but you face him in half the pub games & he's banned/picked material in pro game.

Also on side note, I think all drow pickers are now troll pickers as drow is barely picked those days compared to pretroll patch.

because IF never do the balance job like blizzard. He always give the patch some time to see how will people play out with it etc. I am actually surprised by the frequent buff/nerfs since ti2.

you don't NEED a disable to let a weaver deal damage, so you can forego it, omni weaver gets you good harrass and diving power, treant weaver lets you harass like mad and gives you an incredibly strong mid game. especially since weaver is good in 1vX scenerios it lets tree do his tp support thing very frequently and still not punish the weaver or your towers. especially with a mobile mid or offlane/jungle like prophet or storm spirit treant is a good choice since he defends towers with the best you can spend more time making opportunities and knowing that treants got things covered at home. and if they try 5 man dota in the mid game to counter the mobility of your lineup, treants got you covered there.

If there's something that's become apparent over the years in DotA, it's that "balance" is just as sensitive to trends and tendencies among players and teams as it is to actual changes to the heroes themselves. It takes several months to a year for a patch to really pan out and for people to properly figure out things about how to play that version. Apparent imbalance often only represents flavors of the month and temporary trends until that point.

A lot of heroes are never picked & some are picked/banned all games. I don't care if pros don't do shiny stuff because they know exactly what is possible or not. I'd prefer to see a larger heroe pool in pro games.

The two best lane partner I ever had is Undying and Dazzle. Dazzle + Weaver lane is just hard to kill.

I think the hero pool now is one of the largest it has ever been. There will always be first pick/ban heroes, that's pretty unavoidable. There are diverse options for supports and carries, and a few different currently viable mids.

I'm not a fan of the 2/2/3/3 ban system though, I liked 3/3/2/2 more.

I said bara offlane wouldn't be bad since he provides a lot of utility even from an offlane position and at lvl 6 he's very strong, but this was old bara when his base damage was crazy high and he had a lot more movespeed early on. I said he'd provide a similar utility that bounty hunter did without the track gold but allowing smoke ganks to be more effective. like a weird beastmaster bounty hunter hybrid offlaner. i never said it was god tier or anything, which you guys seemed to gloss over. He'd be a utility pick that would work for certain lineups

3/3/2/2 allowed more "OP" bans so often the current popular characters got banned out as well as a targeted ban maybe if you were first pick. the secondary ban phase were just used to ban the heroes not yet picked up, like banning supports or hard carries.

2/2/3/3 allows more prepared strategies, since there are only 2 bans that the enemy can use to disrupt your planned strategy you can use your 3 picks to get the core of your strategy and then use the 3 bans to ban counters then pick up utility or universal roles last. this tended to be the opposite of 3/3/2/2 where you saw utility roles grabbed immediately or characters that can be played multiple ways.

I prefer 2/2/3/3 but i can see why kipsate preferred the other.
