He's not really the best tank, his stats aren't amazing but yea he gets a lot of armor in extended fights and a decent bunch of HP regen, but bursting him doing is doable unless he has tanky items.
And he does have CD on his skills, some are pretty short, but there are definitely cooldowns.
And yes, Black hole is good with any AOE with a duration, nothing special here.

On black hole + his ulti , yes every AOE skill works good with black hole.. , but his ulti slow down heores , not only deal damage , so if any enemy hero will be still alive after b.hole ends , he will be slowed , and easy to finish
it also drains mana every second it's out so it'll cost a TON of mana just to stay up the whole duration let alone any longer. and he's a strength hero so he doesn't have a big pool to start.
it doesn't cost very much mana at all to keep it out, it's the initial cast that hurts

Yes this is good argument.. but in mid/late game mana should not be a problem for ulti . Scepter/Dagon build and you got mana imo
Jakiro can do that with way more damage by using ult+dual breath though. I'm just saying, Black-hole works well with any AOE with a duration. It's not really OP or anything, it's just another good skill-combo.
And why would you build dagon on him? Lmfao. He doesn't need damage, he needs surviveability IMO.

Bad ? dont think so... , sure you are right he is very good ganker and shitty nuker , but as game will be longer and longer 30-40 min + , you cant still gank all the time , because you dont gonna kill any carry hero with him etc , and you must focus on items that will help team in team fights . He is not suport for sure.. so mek/ pipe build is much worste that scpeter/dagon
nah shredder's fine lategame, it depends a bit on their lineup tho. he does much better against melee carries than ranged ones he does a pretty good amount of damage regardless of how far into the game it is

First game in a long, long time as Brood and got to play mid against storm while our naix was creeping our forest. Wasn't pleasant, but was overall game was fun.

What ? then we must play dota on diffrent level . Pipe is only for suports and pudge , and who more ? Undaying ? he is semi suport/tank . Sure you can go pipe on carry vs heavy caster enemy lineup , but BKB is way better then pipe for carry heroes

Pipe is not only for supports and pudge, thinking so is not quite right, same goes for mek. Obviously this depends, do you classify anything that is't first or second position as support? And even then there are heroes that can go first and second position that both are quite capeable of building mek/pipe(Razor and viper, for example)

Basically this. From the very few times I've played him, he really is mana starved. If you can afford to go for a bloodstone you should probally do that. He seems to be too mana intensive for an early Mek, but it's hard to say with so little experience with him.
Also, thoughts on blademail? He is easy to burst down, but harder to kill if you let him stack that passive. Blademail would work well for that. I'm just not sure if he would be a focus target anyway to justify it. The fact my Dota 1 experience was mainly Garena doesn't help.
