BW/SC2 is the analogy I would have used, tbh.

None of these heroes were really nerfed at all (I guess SD took a slight mana nerf), but I suppose the buffs to lots of heroes (i.e. jakiro) and the change in the draft and tendency toward usage of heroes like magnus probably changed a lot more in terms of picks than I'd have expected. Sand King - weak early laning phase. Was ok before when you could sit safe lane and pull, but unconventional lane arrangements make his life awkward. Shadow Demon - Powerful laner, powerful lategame against certain carries, but very mediocre midgame teamfight because of no hard disables. Still good situationally against certain heroes (Sven, Void, etc.). Rhasta - Gets crushed by facerush teamcomps. Panda - Loses may common mid matchups. Pre-TI2 people weren't playing as much TA/Bat/etc. so this was more manageable.

Isn't it a common expression not exclusive to Dota? It just means bringing something to the next level(be it skills, mindgames, aggression etc.) and can and is being used in many contexts.

Then why aren't Sniper, Shadow Fiend, Viper and next to every other range-carry (or actually, every carry that you need to chaindisable) dominating pubs? Maybe because their not as overpowered.... My guess would be: The "free" Agigain lets every retard get decent dmg/ias --> leads to decent farm and decent laning/skirmish power no matter how bad you play....

Sand King -> I don't know why people keep playing him as support, they should farm him for the first 10 minutes so he can get a blink dagger and dominate the early/mid game. Support SK is pretty much useless, imho. He will never be able to get an Epicentre off because of the amount of disables. Shadow Demon -> Good roamer, but right now the meta seems to be "trilane vs trilane let's see who can farm our carry faster" so... yeah. Rhasta -> I don't know man, to me it seems that he is getting picked a lot more often now. Panda ( do you mean brewmaster or storm ? I guess brew ) -> DK picks him from time to time and he is not a bad hero. Also he got nerfed pretty hard because his "Brewlings" can now be trapped by a blackhole, which is a big deal. On other hand Crystal Maiden isn't getting picked anymore and her sister, Lina, is seeing a lot more play than her. Same with Anti-Mage... no more fun for him ahahahah. Her aura is OP as fuck, even the shittiest support gets a fuckton of damage just from that. Also I'm surprised that people still build crits on her. Just stack eaglesongs and gg. Drow plus support Vengeful spirit is just retarded.

And all this time, I thought he was just a neat talking robot (in Dota 1, he was just a robot, lore-wise). I'm actually a bit disappointed. Him being a talking robot would be better IMO. Next thing you know, you find out Ursa is actually a guy inside a costume or something. /Rant off >.>.

Support SK is pretty much useless, imho. He will never be able to get an Epicentre off because of the amount of disables. He often ends up as support because he screws up the lanes pretty hard. He only really is able to be the safe lane farmer if your #1 position hero is in solo mid, or if predict they are sending a solo melee in one of the side lanes and decide to send SK in the same lane. Actually on that thought, with how popular Bounty Hunter is nowadays, teams could possibly consider drafting aggressive trilanes then sending Sand King to lane against the BH. That might work well.

Hard lane he gets even less early levels/farm than pulling creeps. He's not valuable enough to take a safe lane farming position, and he can't win any of the relevant solo lane matchups. CM has a much harder time being useful against the common gank/diving melees of this version.
