You guys watching WCS?
BBC is hosting that shit...
|
watching it. Look disappointing and no where CLOSE to wcg 2009, not even touching TI2 level. Just killing time to wait for G-1
|
BBC #1 with the terrible terrible puns
|
I think BBC lost a lot of respect from the DotA Chinese scene by adding LoL to G-League... and honestly, the hate is justified.
Imagine ACE DotA adding LoL now! I think DC would get as many shit as BBC took.
WCS looking "good" until now but yeah, you can't compare this to TI2. But at least it's been way better than LoL Finals!

the previous events were, but the finals actually seems lackduster even when compared to the lol finals

Yeah totally. LoL Finals had a good production but comparing this small audio problem to 8 hours to play a bo3 and player cheating...

Bumblebee playing with Merlini on stream atm
|
Damn that match with Merlini and bumblebee was actually pretty epic. There was mass bkb'ing and ghost scepters being used throughout match, quite impressive.

I thought merlini stream is entertaining after all the posts about him, finally i decided to tune in for a bit: i dont like it. From beginning to end, its just a group of stacked players rapping pub on Match making, nothing fun from that. If you have a stack, go scrim and try your best to win, i hate that half half shit. There is pretty much no justify on wasting time playing pub games if you know you are just gona win. Same goes to pretty much every single NA dota streams out there: draskyl, fear, root, even demon time to time.... This is why im so glad when i find singsing stream: im glad that I am not the only person who have this point of view after years playing dota.

I do not agree; for myself, it is very dependent on why you are watching. Take for example Merlini, I was watching his stream and it was not completely one sided. Hell, they even came close to losing at some portions for carelessness. It ended up being an entertaining match and did get a chance to see some interesting fights.
He is not the most insightful player, although he does talk at times about why he is getting X or Y. It is more casual based while effort is still being put into it. I also do not agree that it is a waste of time. There is always a chance of losing, even if the chance is slim. And even though you are in a team and good chance of winning, it does not mean they just slack off and make it a waste of time. It is not negative experience, just little experience gained from it.
I am not going to say his stream is the best, since I do not really watch. But I think that attack is a bit extreme and a bit unwarranted. One is entitled to not like it which is just fine, but saying it is just a waste of time is a bit much.

Have you watched draskyll's stream lately? He stacks 95% of the time with his friends who are uniformly awful, like below sheever tier terrible.

With undying you just have to put the tombstone and run. If they attak the tombstone, go kill them. Too bad he's worthless after 25min.

You vastly underestimate damage amplification.

I don't, simply it's the time when the carry has farmed a second item and rape you and your tombstone in 3hits.

If their carrying is killing you in three hits at 25 minutes there are far worse problems than undying being on your team.

I like merlini stream because he constantly tries to teach you something. Even when you think you know a ton he will say something that makes you go, ah, yeah, makes sense. He's also very nice and enjoyable to watch and listen.

Agreed, I think it is because he speaks a lot of what he is doing which helps. At least from what I have seen, there is a heavy emphasis on the basis mechanics of Dota 2, but just as important are the little bits that make the difference. Like, his timing with stacking the creeps and using the courier to scout the group so he can attack and they would run all the way behind to him. It is just a small thing but it is habits like that for which can make a player exception over simply being good.
