And at that point your BKBs will be down to 5 seconds, meaning that unless you have a hard carry that can handle him regardless, that 5 seconds isn't quite enough.
By and large if you're dealing with level 23+ OD, the issue is rarely the need for counter-items, but the fact that you're trying to come up with a solution to letting a game get to level 23+ on a hard carry like OD unless you have a similarly farmed hard carry that can deal with OD. By and large, the best way to deal with OD is going to be to not let the game get to that point, as the hero's primary weaknesses manifest much more strongly during the midgame than the lategame (no AoE, no hard disables, no escapes, etc.). Assuming two similar farmed team, a team with 3-4 bkb on him will basically nullify Destro possibilities and obliterate him before the Bkb are out. OD may be an hard carry, but he's the only one that is countered easily by an item that every carry should get anyway. When your carry can attack 5 people and destro can attack only 2 you're in a pretty good position. He's good but his power isn't in the lategame but rather in the laning phase and in the midgame before the enemy team get mass bkb. lol 3-4 BKB
The only time you'll have that many BKBs is if your team is astronomically ahead that 3rd/4th position can afford a BKB without sacrificing more useful team items--which is unlikely to be the case when OD has a 3-level advantage over you at level 23. And if you really did get that ahead, the game shouldn't even go that long against OD because of the hero's comparative uselessness at defending high ground midgame.

Regardless, the situation involves a Magnataur who's 3 levels below OD, which also probably also implies an item disadvantage. At that point, your MO in fights is going to be 1) give your carry Cleave, 2) look for a good Blink->Polarity, 3) maybe get a good Skewer, 4) get some kills/assists on random supports with Shockwave. Even if you have a BKB at that point, your usefulness is essentially supportive because of how much of a gold/XP advantage level 23 OD to level 20 Magnataur implies at that point. Either your carry can clean up the rest or they can't.

He can't even survive when he has 10 babysitters on his lane, 1 mistake and he is gone. He is just that fragile and I can't think of any other melee heroes has worse laning ability than him.
Slark will be fresh for the first day and then after that he will be gone forever. Pubbies can not handle this extremely squishy hero!
I don't quite like the model tbh where have my cute little fish become...
and lol at christmas patch is coming soon!!!

if hes harder to click on than in dota1 i think hes viable

Pre-6 Meepo
Slark is quite a good carry for pubs. The BH comparison isn't very apt--I'd say he plays closer to Riki than to BH.

Slark can pawn harder than riki/bh in good hands so i really wish i won't see many good slark players...
As always dota is all about balance, he is extremely fragile because he has 3 (or 3.5 if you counted his half dagger blink distance) imba skills, that debuff removal, 'agi stealing' and that insane hp regen from ulti. Anyone remember his ulti before the neff lollll. It is still a very strong ulti now even after the neff.
If we compared Slark to BH/Riki, i'd say Slark requires more ballsiness to play but you need to have a quick reaction to know when to switch to your maximal pussiness to utilise your ulti especially during team fight (e.g. jumping in and out from team fight). Reminds me of a trick that I like to use slark to scout if enemies warded at certain spots or not (by using that ulti).

I have a friend thaats a slark pro, will link you some games later He is the master of debuffing stuns, he literally never gets stunned for more than a second. But he agrees that slark has meepo level laning. Also note that dust never works on this hero

Not that slark isn't still so horribly shafted by any amount of coordination and truesight.
