It's been gone over and over multiple times in this thread. Centered around critical strikes, Critical Mass passive, and fast hitting spells.

honestly, it's weak point is diamond skin. Once you get to higher acts things will probably tear through it like butter.

I had 34k hp 25 crit with 21k damage.I couldnt kill elite mobs in late act 2.There are just too many counters to it.Shielded mobs dont get stunned.Ranged ones runaway teleport kite etc.Fast ones are so hard to freeze all of them.Desecration and plague are pain in the ass.

34k hp is overkill. You need JUST enough not to die in 1 shot. This also means that your diamond skin will take less damage. Say I had 40k hp and something hit me for 20k. That'd eat through diamond skin since 35% of 40k is a lot more than 35% of 21k.

So hit lvl 20 and really starting to die more....so seeking any suggestions to be on look out for gear from AH. Right now trying to get vit+ items and obviously stuff with int / magic find / armor. Just really enjoyed the first 20 lvls but now feels like i've hit speed bump and dying a ton more..could be my build I guess but think it is more lack of gear. I do have roughly 7 rare items though so not sure how I could be that far behind the norm.
The art of war is simple enough. Find out where your enemy is. Get at him as soon as you can. Strike him as hard as you can, and keep moving.

This is what I was thinking but then I realised that higher hp = you can tank more painful hits (due to the newly implemented 100% max hp fix). I'm leaving it up to the really really smart people to figure it out and I'll just copy them.

I currently have 25k and don't know where to go from here. Obviously more int is good, but what secondary/tertiary stats to go for apart from vitality? I've already got 15% attack speed on every slot that can have it but beyond that, hmm.

They nerfed it to where if the attack hits harder than your total life you die anyway and force armor doesn't negate it.

I have a question on the math, since the spell can block only your max hp's worth but doesnt block all of the damage only reduces does that mean you can take <1.35 x max hp damage and still survive?

For example, wiz has 10k hp, if you get hit for 10k damage do you die or does it get reduced by 6500 because 6500 is less than 10k? If I get hit for 12k do I die or is it reduced again because its only reducing by 8500?

It is as you think. In both cases it will be reduced to 35%. To die instantly with 10k hp and FA you will have to be hit by a 20k damage attack.

Pretty sure it's the absorbed amount which matter, so if you have 10k damage and is hit for 10k, you only take 35% damage from the attack since it's over 35% of your hp, which is 3500. Since 3500 is less than 100% of your hp, that's fine. However, if you're hit for 40k damage, 35% of 40k is well over 10k, so you'll die because the FA will only absorb 10k, the rest will come through.
