I've never had any trouble with digital download/purchase. I've bought SC2, Cataclysm and now D3. Dont need the box or anything as such, dont want the nasty surprise of a broken/corrupted dvd either...!
Been a blizzard gamer since Warcraft II, there's no way I was'nt getting D3, and subsequently HoTS as soon as it comes out >_<
You do not get beta access for buying the game ^^

As I recall it was announced upfront. Would be weird if they sprang that surprise on us at a later date.

I say how it is with Diablo 3. What was with SC2 is different story.

Hell, it's about time. Anyone else afraid the digital download will end up with a delayed "start playing time" than it will at a midnight retail release? Would like to hear thoughts on this before I preorder =P

I highly doubt this would happen though. Since they use the fact you can play right off the bat @ release to sell the game directly, can you imagine the shitstorm this would give? =P

Just preordered a collector's edition, I love Diablo and gave up waiting for announcements and then saw this little thread title in the sidebar. TL is awesome.
