Dang it, I was hoping for something in the SF Bay Area.

Oh man. . . Anaheim! Sweeeeeeeet!! Never though their west coast stop would be right here! Can't wait for the last weekend in July.
Yay Orlando is in there. Should be able to make it out for that one.
This is really exciting, I'm glad New England's FINALLY getting some love :D. It would've been great if there was just anything big in New England this year, but this is the National Championship! AND it's during my Thanksgiving break! Even better :O
I think PAX East was a good indication that we've got some spirit up in NE, and I'm so happy MLG's decided that too!
Hmm...maybe I should make a trip to Ohio for this. That would be sooo cool
HELl YEAH ANAHEIM, WOOOOOOT
Man was really hoping there would be another one in driving distance but they did a pretty good job of spreading all these tournaments out across the states.
I can sacrifice some selfishness for the growing of e-sports =)
Really... Providence? That is so far from... anywhere... lol, Love the place though, traveling for work that's up there in top 3 places i've been since traveling the states.

Seattle y u so far frum anaheim?! ;_;

ANAHEIM!!!! Sunny california ftw!

:o Good catch! I don't think it would be anything extra "special" though, just because MLG is so strict on their 3 day schedule. It's might be a mistake, but you never know.
And I'm happy to see Raleigh in there. Just from Halo history, it's always had great tournaments.

If that is their annual Combine event, it will be to accommodate potentially hundreds more players. Last year D.C. was the Combine event and although it was only three days, MLG didn't have Black Ops on Gamebattles by that time.
Either that or it's a typo. =P

Sundance said that he is scraping the Combine events.
Orlando could be Qualifiers(For the lower seeds) to get rdy for Nationals.

Its not
Ok time to step on my soap box
MLG is out of t heir mind if they want to compete with the fighting game community for viewers. MLG Anaheim is the same weekend as Evo 2011.
I heard mlg anaheim and though damn, I might want to go to that, I hear its at the end of July, if I'm going cross country I'm going to Vegas and to Evo, where it gets HYPE, and there are going to be 60-70k viewers on a live stream that shows its numbers.
Anyways, looks like I won't be making any events this year, unless I have the opportunity to get sent, but due to the locations and their times, this is just a pretty bad schedule for an east coast college student, since the east coast events are during the school year during important weeks.
hope everyone in ca goes to anaheim to show mlg how popular sc2 is in the state. hopefully theyll bring more events here

Yeah I guess they don't care too much, but I'm probably just in a bad mood about it, as an esports fan I know how much bigger Evo is than any event starcraft has right now,but i'm not sure hwo much it'll effect viewership, its just frustrating.

WTF, where is the East Coast love? Buffalo, Boston, Montreal? Jeez! Anaheim is going to be jam-packed!

No Seattle is a total bummer. There are so many sick players just across the border that would go down, and it's also close to guys like KawaiiRice and SeleCT.

You know, 3 of the 6 are on the east coast (Raleigh, Orlando, Providence) and Providence is only an hour away from Boston.

Providence? Why Providence? Sticks out like a sore thumb on that list.

"November 18-20 Providence, RI" Interesting don't think I've ever seen an event there.
And damn Anaheim in the middle of my Exams .

Lol its no secret that MLG goes for the venues that are available and that they can get cheaper than the next. It's why they'll go to national harbor over in washington DC, or providence over boston, meadowlands over new york, the list goes on.

Oh yea ill be there for Anaheim!!!

They went to chicago back in like 04 or 05, its probably expensive, since all those old venues they enver go to again (san francisco, philadelphia, etc.). I have a feeling chicago is just expensive, and columbus gets a good showing since its near pennsylvania and close ENOUGH to the east coast that people travel, and its sorta the home of Ogre1 and Ogre2 who pretty much made MLG.

Vancouver is Toronto's western-most suburb. so after MLG comes to hog town a few times...
then they may decide to go out into wilderness of the suburbs like Calgary and Vancouver and host an event.

The logistics of traveling in the US are awful. Especially those locations. Anaheim is an hour out of LA, Providence is an hour out of Boston, pretty much unless you live within driving distance or want to rent a car for 3 days, the travel costs are pretty stupid.
MLG's are something nice to go to yes, but in the end, when it comes to traveling around within the US, its pretty f'ing bad unless you're willing to shell out half a grand per event minimum.
You will def see me at MLG Orlando rocking my Fnatic jersey.

Yay California!!! Maybe I can actually go.

ORLANDO! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
but god damn, it's a sunday-thursday.... /angryfistofdoom@school

Anyone else at UCF who is going to the Orlando one?

Weirdest thing about Providence is that they picked it (the most northern site of them all) in November (which is the coolest month compared to the rest). A snow storm in November while unlikely is possible.
Unless something crazy happens, I'll be going to Columbus and Providence.

MLG has already been to Canada twice. Albeit not with SC2 on the circuit, but turnout for the events was much lower than for events in the states. While there's no doubt in my mind that SC2 would bring huge crowds, the other games probably wouldn't be able to sell out all the team passes.
I'm hopeful for another event too, though

There is an airport 20 minutes from Providence (T.F. Green Airport). It's not so bad... Look into things before you get all upset about it. There are also shuttles, trains, and taxi's that will get you from the airport to the venue/hotel in Providence, and plenty of taxi's to get you around Providence and wherever you need to be. Also, the venue is most likely right in the middle of downtown, which is also pretty much on the same block as two big hotels which MLG attendees will probably be staying at. As for the other venues I can't say, but since I live a few minutes outside of Providence I know that for the national championship it shouldn't be too much of a hassle traveling there, assuming that paying for airfare is not a problem. Hope this helps a little bit, I know most people aren't too familiar with Rhode Island.

Which one is it for you?
For me it will be the Orlando one. I will be at UCF! ^^

I'm suprised they arent returning to DC after the success of the event there. Rhode Island? I hope there are big crowds at all the events... and chairs for them to sit on. =)
wow, finally something worth going to in columbus aside from football and basketball games!
right cause there's such a huge freakin north carolina gaming scene... amirite? Idiots, replace with DC area imo
See yall in Anaheim! YEEEEEEAAAAAAH MAAAAAAAAAAAAn

How out of place will a 44 year old nerd be at one of these?

Depends. Do you have a Y Chromosome? If so, you'll fit *right* in.

Columbus fightinnnnng. I don't even need to get a ride on an Im-morr-tall, dood. I can walk.
I'm very sad. Closest to me is Colombus. ~6 hour drive.
What a bizarre place to put the national championship.
Holy shit, finals in RI?? SO totally going to that!
no seattle?!
oh well! MLG Hwaiting!
If I can drive to Anaheim to watch the Yankees play the Angels, I can drive to Anaheim to see MLG. See ya there!

ANAHIEM!?!!
I'm sorry to all the other venues but Anahiem is going to EXPLODE!
For sure going to anaheim's event. :D

From the promotional pdf, quoted above as well:
Weekly 26 minute programme, starting 6th May 2011 This weekly gaming magazine show will feature all the best action, news and gaming content from Major League Gaming. The MLG show will highlight the very latest from the world of competitive gaming, profiling the world’s leading gamers and gaming teams from every territory. Rumours from inside the gaming world will also be featured in the show alongside developments from leading games publishers and hardware companies. All the best plays and competitions from the past week from GameBattles will feature alongside tips and tricks from the world’s best gamers.
I'm extremely excited about this. They don't need to show games on TV, but the fact that a weekly 26 minute program is being featured will draw a lot of people into the scene who wouldn't have otherwise been exposed to it. This is great news. No mention of network yet though.

I'm sorry to all the other venues but Anahiem is going to EXPLODE! I really hope so - Anaheim was on the circuit a couple years ago and it was horribly attended (relative to the other stops, especially Columbus which apparently had gajillions of people). Hopefully SC2 will help turn things around there. MLG has said a number of times that they'd love to have more west coast stops if their attendance justified it.
As for Providence, it's possibly there to fill the void left by Meadowlands, which used to be a regular stop for MLG that they've long since outgrown. On a semi-related note, at a panel discussion last year, Sundance said that some cities were bidding to be pro circuit stops and I wonder if Providence might be one such city. No evidence to back that up other than it's a new stop for MLG (no prior event attendance history to go by) and they managed to snag the championships.
Anyway, it's going to be an awesome season :D
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Coming back to Raleigh. Where Sc2 first started in MLG!! Cant wait to see the differnce from the first one to this one.
I'll see you all in Anaheim
nice, Anaheim, however, I'm in northern california
ORLANDOOOOOOO
I WILL BE THERE!
ANNYHEIM!!
I may or may not go, but it would be awesome if I could.
If I get into my first-choice college, I'll be in Providence for the finals!!!
Nothing in DC? D: Guess I'll have to make a trip elsewhere some time.
aww i was really hoping for an MLG UK
Anaheimmmmmmmm but it sucks though because I think that's during the same time frame as EVO
So glad they are coming back to Raleigh :D ps: Im not sure why people pronounce it like "Rally" its more like "Rawlee" (or sort of like Molly with an R)
def going to at least Raleigh and championship.
(and already going to dallas)
No DC? I am deeply sad.
Anaheim is gonna be sick.
Hmm, Sundance said last year that they wouldn't have any West Coast events this year. I bet the NASL being hosted in LA was a factor in this decision, they might figure all the SC2 people will be around there.

:O Providence is right around the corner! :D

Sundance didn't say that (not in reference to the 2011 season at least) and they've been on record saying they'd love to get back to the west coast if they could make it work somehow (i.e., attendance-wise). With 3 flagship titles instead of 1, it's possible they figured it'd be a good opportunity to try again.
Also, NASL almost certainly wasn't yet in the picture when MLG booked their venues for the 2011 season -- that happens way, way far in advance for the kind of venues MLG uses these days (like 10-12 months minimum for something like the Anaheim convention center). And Anaheim is already familiar territory for MLG, having been there as recently as the 2009 season.

National Championships are in Providence, RI?! Is that a misprint.
I mean no offense to RI since I live there and driving to Providence is going to be sweet but wow, how is the city going to hold all the people...
Very excited for the schedule.
Fair enough mate. I hadn't realised.
Dangit, they are always so far away! Living in Missouri sucks...
(Wishing for a Kansas City stop one of these years! )
ANAHEIM! oh so close to san diego !!!!!! SoCal MEET! (;

Ouch. MLG DC was probably the coolest experience of my SC2 life.
I guess MLG just doesn't like people who scream when they see motherships.

Sundance already tweeted that there will be an MLG in Australia, Just have patience.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF im away for dallas! god damnit!
Providence is so sick. I was hoping there would be one within driving distance, but I didn't expect it to be 30 minutes away (I live in RI)
Is there a released list of players participating yet?
Finally a west coast show! See ya at Anaheim!
Adding Columbus to my calendar! Hopefully I can find some friends to bring!
Definitely hitting Raleigh. That's such a long time from now though... ( >.< )
Who is excited for Raleigh?

Columbus! In my opinion one of the nicest venues. See you all there
This is extremely disappointing. Three venues on the east coast, two in the midwest, and one on the west coast... And the championship in Rhode Island? Really... Very sad to hear about all of this, I would have loved to have gone to more than one (the only one on the west coast).
Providence is literally like 30 minutes from my house. I also got accepted to Providence College, but I'm probably not going there. Instead I'll prolly be in upstate New York (Hamilton College), which is a 5 hour drive to Providence Why couldn't this have been last year when I would have been at my house in November!? Might have to make the trek anyways
Pretty disappointed to not see something closer to Maryland, especially after the awesome venue in DC. I was hoping for something in New York!
Anaheim!!! YEAH BUDDY cant wait for my first MLG ^_^
Are a lot of people planning on attending MLG Anaheim? I live nearby in Irvine and would be down to go if I know enough TLers will be there to hang out with.
We need a thread! Someone with more initiative, make one!
I pretty much have to go to the one in Anaheim. Whew!
