Hey guys. It's CryingPoo. Sorry that I was not able to update interviews for yesterday. My stupid ISP shut my internet for 2 days as they claimed that I did not pay the bills for a month (Personally rant here, I mean WTF - I've been their customer for 3 years and something went wrong with Direct Debit which they've never told me and decided to cut the internet for $59.99! Harsh world..)
Anyways here are today's interviews from PlayXP. Enjoy!
Jinro
![[image loading]](http://imgur.com/T4iYL.jpg) Q : You are in the round of 16. How do you feel?
Jinro : I was worried as I did not have a very outstanding results in recent practice matches. I was confident against Zerg in new maps but not against Protoss. But three days before the tournament I adjusted to new maps against Protoss as well so I got calmer.
Q : Are you happy with your plays today?
Jinro : Very happy. Everything went the way I wanted
Q : Greg Fields (EGIdra) left Korea. He was the only other foreigner beside you, how do you think?
Jinro : Now people will pay more attention to me so I am happy about that
Q : In Starcraft 1, there were top foreign progamers like Guillaume Patry and Bertrand Grospellier. When you think about them what sort of progamer do you want to be?
Jinro : I personally like the career path that Bertrand took, but I don't want to have his sunglass fashion style (laughs)
Q : The format of the round of 16 has changed
Jinro : I am satified with the change this season. I thought it would be good idea for them to change it. I like how GSL is changing in a way that I like. I think this format is very reasonable.
Q : Who do you want to face in the next rounds?
Jinro : I wish oGsTOP and oGsNada to advance as I am in the same house with them but I do not want to face them already. But if I had to choose one player between them I would rather have a match with NaDa. I live with TOP so it would be hard to practise in the house if I face him. I also seek for many advices from him so I rather not face him.
Q : You did pretty well in the last season, now what is your goal for this season?
Jinro : I thought today was the hardest day but I made it through. Now I aim to win.
Q : You don't have your personal ceremony...
Jinro : Chris 'HUK' Loranger said he would do a ceremony for me if I win this season.
Q : oGsMC said that new maps favour Terran, how do you think about that?
Jinro : He told me they favour Protoss! He either lied to me or lied during the interview! (laughs) [MC only said about Cravasse. This interviewer is on something]
Q : There are other emerging big leagues other than GSL. Any plans to participate them?
Jinro : I want to concentrate on GSL for now. If they are hosted in Korea or near Korea like China then I plan to participate. But only if they don't clash with GSL schedules.
Q : Any last words?
Jinro : I thank all oGs teammates who help me practising and coach Park. Also I thank all fans in Korea and outside Korea.
Check
![[image loading]](http://imgur.com/k0X2a.jpg) Q : Tell us how you feel advancing in the next round
Check : Very good. Mostly for not needing to do up/down matches
Q : You had a revenge match against Rainbow. When did you predict the victory?
Check : When his early aggression was over, I thought I won
Q : You advanced after beating Polt who is your teammate
Check : Polt did really well recently, I guess he had a bad day today. I feel sorry as we are in the same team
Q : What was the hardest part while practicing?
Check : Nothing too drastic as I only needed to prepare for ZvT. But I was stressed while practising against bunker rushes.
Q : What do you think about the new format of the round of 16?
Check : I think it's better for players as they only need to concentrate on one opponent
Q : As a Zerg player, what is your impression on the new maps?
Check : I do not think Zerg is not that favoured because of the new maps. But they are better than ladder maps as I don't choke myself. New maps are bigger so it is better for Zergs to get into good ground positions for battles. But still Terran is strong.
Q : If you predict your results in this season...
Check : I feel good. My win rate against Terran is getting better. My ladder ranking has stably stayed in high ranks so I guess I am improving. I want to win.
Q : Who do you want to face in the next round?
Check : oGsNaDa. He is popular and all so it should be fun
Q : Former Warcraft 3 progamers seem to be having hard time
Check : That is true but me and Jun Park are both improving. Moon also plays very well but he does not do his best during broadcasted matches.
Q : Any shout outs?
Check : I thank the owner of SaBaSaBa Chicken outlet in Gasan Dong
Nada
![[image loading]](http://imgur.com/7Qen9.jpg) Q : How do you feel winning to the next rounds?
Nada : Feel little bit numb as I was not confident about today. I think I was lucky today
Q : Why were you not confident?
Nada : I could not get enough practices done. On top of that facing one of my team mate always worries me. Personally I would've thought going into the rounds of 16 with the second place in the group is still extremly well done.
Q : Your game play was very clean today
Nada : Was able to pull that in the short term period. Lately Terran uses marines with tanks which is the style that I personally like. Trying not to worry about the result helped me I guess.
Q : Who do you want to face in the next rounds?
Nada : Both Check and Jinro are really hard to face against but I would rather face with Check. I haven't had a game with Zerg for a long time and he plays a very fun style.
Q : What's your opinion on the change of the format?
Nada : I used to like tournaments rather than full league style, so I like it.
Q : You will stay in Code S
Nada : That reduces my burden a bit. But I do feel sorry for TOP
Q : What's your goal in this season?
Nada : I always got eliminated in the rounds of 8. So I want to be in the semi finals.
Q : You are studying at the university while progaming. What's your goal for uni?
Nada : I did not get good grades last semester. So I will try hard studying as well and get my average weighted grades to 3
Q : Any shout outs?
Nada : I thank all my fans who always support me. I thank coach and the director of the team. Maka helped me lots so I would like to say thanks.
HongUn
![[image loading]](http://imgur.com/L1HUi.jpg) Q : Congratuation! how does it feel?
HongUn : I did not show good games against Terran lately. I am happy that I showed better games today. I don't know how to express my feelings in words
Q : Did you prepare for 6 warp gates rush on the first game?
HongUn : I decided to use that build after I saw his command centre. So it was just a counter build.
Q : Your use of Colossi in the second game was outstanding
HongUn : I think theBest put his Vikings too forward so I could take the benefit of that. So I could save my Colossi.
Q : Who would you want to face in the next round?
HongUn : Check is my teammate and we know each other well so I want to face Jinro
Q : What's your goal for this season?
HongUn : Looking back now how I said I want to win the tournament last season even makes me laugh at myself. There are so many people on ladder who are really good and I think I know myself better now. So I am happy that I am in the rounds of 16.
Q : Are you not undervaluing yourself too much?
HongUn : I am sure that not every players would feel like me but after being in the up/down matches I am just glad that I am in the rounds of 16. When you are in Up/Down matches you sensor some sort of alerts. Code S is the tournament with 32 best players . Saying winning the tournament by beating all players sounds bit cocky to me, at least for now.
Q : Any last words?
HongUn : I left Prime house and practising at home recently. My parents support me and look after me I thank them very much. I also thank Clide and Alive. There was a fan who gave me a hand made Stalker with papers, told me that something for me was inside that Stalker. It is really well made paper Stalker so I did not have guts to open it yet. I am keeping it as it is for now. I really thank that particular fan.

HongUn is so humble.. i guess that is nice to see!
Damn - NaDa trying to concentrate on university and still makes Ro16 and guaranteed code S next season; seems a bit ridiculous.. imagine if all his energy was spent on SC2 :/ bonjwa?
Go go Jinro as usual Gorilla Terran hwaiting!

fuk guys he's the GORILLA terran! not the zoro terran and definitely not robin hood terran...
Jinro's game vs rainbow was absolutely mind blowing. i've never seen marine/tank executed so well especially with how he had the right amount of siege tanks in all the right places at all the right times..

Jinro better not switch to poker anytime soon

Thanks for the interview. That would suck if TOP does bad in up/down and goes back down to Code A lol.
Hurray for Jinro staying in GSL for at least a bit longer
Also, Nada is really good looking. Jinro too ofc

Im personally really happy jinro's priority is the GSL as much as I love western esports and competition its really nice to know there isnt and wont be this huge disconnect between it and korea, also I wish idra would stay in gsl but i think thats as much a personal choice as it is professional
|
Anyone else think there's a resemblance between HongUn and Stork? Also, HongUn was the first one to get Carriers in the GSL.
|
So Hongun left the team house? That's disappointing, That coupled with the fact that he said he thinks he's lucky to be in the round of sixteen is a bit disheartening. Though his execution isn't always the best, he's one of my favorite toss players. I like cocky Hongun more than realistic Hongun.

Wow that picture of Jinro is quite badass!

That pic just makes Jinro look like a total baller. I love that he's basically become a mainstay of the GSL. So consistent!

Great Interviews, thanks for the translation.
In other news that jacket looks damn good on Jinro haha.

Nada doing university and practicing, that is ridiculous. I really hope he picks one thing and sticks with it. Someone that intelligent can succeed at anything he puts his mind to. I'm sure he can put the skills he learned from SC1 (competition, teamwork, dedication, etc.) into school. Splitting the time makes him mediocre at both :O. Anyway I don't want to sound like his dad or I know whats best for him lol. Selfishly I hope he goes 100% SC2 and rapes face :D

Thanks alot for the translations, was waiting for them! Jinro you beast, I really hope you take the entire GSL down this time.
|
congrats jinro! Question about being a progamer in Korea... When players can't qualify for GSL or get knocked out early in the season, how severe is their loss of motivation to practice? Since SC2 doesn't have proleague established like BW, wouldn't a lot of the players have nothing pushing them to practice except the motivation to get better and trying to get better results next season?
|
After this interview I understand why + Show Spoiler +HongUn went for the mothership in the last game versus nada If he won with that cool, but if not he already knew he would avoid playing against his teammate. Thanks for interviews!

I wonder if he might be considering jumping ship to TSL if he's left the Prime house and seems to be practicing with TSL terrans, he seems like a guy who would fit in with their team ethos.
Very happy to see him into the R16, he does some whacky stuff and sometimes it doesn't come off, but he's a pretty entertaining guy to watch and I still think he's capable of giving a lot guys a tough game (though hopefully not Jinro hehe)

Interesting what HongUn said, glad he isn't aiming too high. He might be a threat now the pressure is off himself to succeed
