I wonder what would be IdrA's reaction if Clide winned that GSL.

Clide : I recently found out that there are a few foreign fans out there. TeamLiquid blabla..

waw, sometimes i feel that these guys never spend 5 minutes on anything else than practicing their games. In so many interviews Korean players are like "ho i have no idea that people out of my tiny country play the same game as me."

I know that's kind of exagerated but it seems that a lot of players are not so aware of how starcraft 2 is under the spotlight and how big the scene is.
I have to return some videotapes.

He suspected the bust and still lifted his barracks to make a tech lab...just poor decision making and in Code S those things will cost you the game every time. Their first game was much closer and more entertaining, but the second was just July capitalizing on a mistake, which you would expect from any high level player.

The reason I think so many people are terrified of facing July is 1) He's the god of war, come on, and 2) His play style can be unpredictable and it makes it hard to practice. I have a feeling most Z's on these teams that these guys can practice with don't really give a good insight as to what it's like to play against July.

That said, MC is an absolute badass. Completely dominated both of his games, and while he didn't have to play against MvP I think he could have won that too. Like July, he also played pretty unpredictably, not showing his typical aggressive style and playing extremely safe both games and it paid off.

I feel sorry for Hyperdub because it was such an insane group, but at the same time it's pretty clear that he's not long for Code S. Maybe with some more practice he can get back to where he was around Season 1 when the talent pool wasn't as strong, but I feel like his play is a little too gimmicky to make a strong run into the ro8 or further. Was nice to see him use iEchoic's style against MvP, but the combination of using it on the best Terran in the world and his subpar control made the outcome pretty predictable.

MvP should have no problem in the up/down matches I can't possibly see a scenario where he'll be demoted to Code A. Hyperdub will have a tougher time and I think he really needs to work on some things.

Clide and Byun were both impressive and I think they both deserve to move on. Zenio is always fun to watch but he made some critical mistakes and you can't really get away with that in Code S anymore, even in the ro32 since the players are so strong. Unless he gets a really scary group in the up/down matches I think he can stay in, but he should spend the time practicing...he certainly has a great team house for that.

Thanks for the interviews these guys all seem really well mannered and happy to be playing SC2 on this kind of stage. Here's hoping byun gets his puppy!

Would have been funnier to see Clide bm idra even more. It is still funny though that he seems genuinly concerned that IdrA left a country in which he has been living for 3 years because he is so afraid of Clides BM skills.

I love to see these players sharing their thoughts but i do wish for some more probing questions that dont generate such bland answers. Maybe it's just me though.

Thanks for this!

If they're old BW pros, you can't really blame them because there wasn't anything really worth knowing about outside of Korea for BW.

SC2, however, is really catching on in Europe and NA and has some really high-profile tournaments (TSL3 anyone?) to back it up. It's good that they're starting to become aware of that, and trying to learn English is a great step, along with TL inviting the best Korean pros (literally) to the TSL3.

Give it some time, but right now the language barrier and the distance required to travel for foreign tournaments are probably holding them back.

Wow cool, is there a chatlog available somewhere or maybe VODs? Unfortunately, I can't watch the stream since it is during my work hours...

VODs are not available for Xeph's stream since the progamers do not want their streamed games to be recorded.

I hope Byun wins GSL to get a new puppy. He could have quite a few possibilities for naming it...

Also, awesome to see Clide acknowledging Team Liquid. Perhaps someday, he'll travel over here and tear up MLG or NASL and perhaps get the tournament win that he has been deserving for so long.

Funny to see Byun and July wanting to face each other, yet Clide intervenes and force them into their unwanted matchups.

That's true, my post sounds a bit pessimistic, but you summarized quite well what will be, i hope, the next step.

I heard that Korean were quite good at english, that most of them understand it really well, but looks like they don't have enought time in their team-houses to learn something else than starcraft.
I have to return some videotapes.

Haha, most well-educated Koreans can write and read English somewhat decently, but when it comes to listening and speaking, they're pretty bad at it. Of course, like you said, most of these professional starcraft players have little educational background as many of them have dropped out of high school or even middle school (there are exceptions before anyone jumps on me) and hence speak very little English.

Baneling busts are the only possible cheese zerg can do(and win effectivly) and is scouted extremely easly. How does it feel that even the best terran could not defend the easiest of cheeses(but rarest)? Now imagine 12 banelings can take down a barracks, that would be the equvalent of a 2 rax for zerg in terms of cheese. I think July was playing Zerg that way it was played in SC1. An aggresive race, forcing the opposite race to react to him instead of the other way around. I think his aggresive style is very rare so many terran will not have had expirence against it and will often lose against it. Its stratagy.

Man, those new ZeNEX jackets are quite snazzy. Also, nice to see Clide being mannered to IdrA.
The dashboard melted but we still had the radio.
