Thing im wondering though, is Sony Ericsson still sponsoring, or are they completely out? Because it seems it's an 'Intel-named' tournament now.
Though this is a huge step for GSL/SC2/SC2Korea, great news.

Finally, a Kpop band to open up, something we've been missing to turn this into a real starleague. The super bowl wouldn't be so super if there wasn't a half time show, it would just be a bowl, and a starleague isn't a star without a kpop group, it's just a league! Also, it's great to see a corporation as big as intel sponsoring the GSL.

I bet Tasteless says: This is the GSL sponsored by our wonderful sponsors: Sony Ericsson since he's been saying it for so long. Tasteless then gets fired.
We got them GOM TvT's and them mlGG's

Haha.

It's an interesting thought, intel sponsoring a tournament. Once SC2 gets to a reasonable size, if GSL is profitable for them, they could expand their sponsorship to the US (well, they already sponsor a lot of stuff, but to be a more primary sponsor)

They may sponsor again in the future. I think it works exactly the same way OSL and MSL work. You have the Bacchus OSL, the Korean Air OSL, Ever OSL, etc. Every tournament can have a different sponsor, although that doesn't necessarily mean it will.

going off the last few years i would LOVE a superbowl that didnt have a half time show.... not sure if that affects your analogy or not

Intel is the major sponsor now. Like the other guy said, Sony can always come back to the forefront at a later time.

God, been reading the first 4 pages, and there's definitely way too much intel fanboyism or too much ppl writing nonsense. Meh, i'm wasting my time here.

An aside: I have a hunch that Intel is also sponsoring whatever Inc's big announcement is, so essentially everyone should run out and buy an i7 asaply.

yeah go buy it, i'm working at intel and i want more $$
I reject your reality and substitute my own

I still prefer IU. She means lot more for SC2 than any other girl group!

That said, Intel makes excellent processors, but they cost $. If you're on budget, AMD is way better. ;p

QFT. I'm definitely excited about seeing a kpop group get involved with the SC2 scene but I'm sad that we won't be seeing IU; although I'm sure she's incredibly busy with her drama ^^

But regardless, this seems like fantastic news for the E-sports community; whether you like Secret or not, having Secret perform will definitely increase SC2's visibility.

Sure this sounds cool intel sponsoring GSL but I would much rather have them sponsor the scenes more in the US and EU and help grow the scenes more here rather them dumping money into that monthly tournament and a lot of our foreigners are now comming back here after code A's beautiful prize pool.
