I certainly think Mr. Jinro tips the scales a bit in Sweden's favor after his last two very successful GSL's, but there are so many good players from both areas that it's hard to say. Would love to see more foreigners make it out there, it's just too bad that there aren't smaller tourneys for them if they don't make GSL or what not.

Keep up the good work MorroW!

What do you think: Which nation is the strongest in European StarCraft II?

MorroW: In Europe it's Sweden and Ukraine I guess.

What about Germany?

MorroW: Germany is great of course, but Sweden has a lot of good players that are established and also many up-and-coming players, so I have to say Sweden.

New maps? Goes without saying. Stale map pools just lead to people getting bored, and I was bored a month ago.

OT:

Morrow is a good guy. I've spoken with him on BWMN quite a bit, and he's almost as skilled at mapping as he is at playing.

GL with Z Morrow. I've got every confidence in you.

The funny thing is he said he could win just as many tournaments playing as zerg before he switched and that zergs were just QQing.

Then now he says he def would have had a better chance playing terran.

I like what he's saying. I'm always quite impressed by MorroW's comments on these sort of things.
He's still a pretty young guy, but already sounds quite wise ^^

And with the Sweden - Germany thing. Sweden doesn't even have 1/8th of the German population, so if you count good player / capita, we're doing quite well at the moment.

I agree with what Morrow said here. The GSL Team leagues were the biggest showcase of how better maps can greatly improve the quality of games from a spectating point of view anyway. GL in the future morrow, mad props for sticking it out as zerg.

The funny thing is that you can't back up your statement with an exact quote/link, because it's wrong.

So Koreans are not that superior at all as it seems to be like they were in Broodwar?

MorroW: No, they are not that dominant

has this guy played a lot of koreans? which I don't think he has, how is he saying it like he has koreans figured out. I know everyone who moved to korea and laddered/competed, they all say koreans > europe,us, and etc. like huk who goes to EU and ladders for few days to reach #1, in his interview he says otherwise.

MorroW: As a Zerg for example, I spawn close position on Lost Temple for example, its instant loss. And if I spawn cross position then it maybe favors me instead. So many maps are so position dependant.

I think that the claim that your position automatically determines the outcome of the game is somewhat premature. It's not like you can't do anything to change your fate at all. Obviously, MorroW has played a lot more than me, and so he knows what he's talking about more than me, but I still feel that it's impossible for him to have tried every possibility.

maybe you should read the question again? Does the question say "are the korean ladder harder than the NA/EU"? No, they asked him if koreans are as dominant as they were in bw, which they CLEARLY are not.

and he knows about korean's playing style how? because he lost to ret? I really don't remember him ever playing any koreans or k ladder. either way, what I am saying is that he lacks encounters with korean players to make any comment about the subject.
however, huk has reached #1 in both EU and KOR and says pretty much contrary to everything morrow is saying in this interview. sorry if I got the swed fans mad or anything.

I think that Morrow is really right.
He spends so much time invested into his gaming
that blizzard should maybe should take in this interview a little more seriously

That's a true Zerg mullet.

I agree... the biggest step toward a balanced game (specifically for Zergs) is a new map pool

Of course its an exaggeration to say that "<x position> is a free win for <y race> on <z map>!" However, there can be no doubt that certain map spawns can tilt the scales of balance heavily in favour of one race in a matchup, to the point where with equally skilled players and without a massive blunder you can pick the winner of a map with a certain spawn with a high degree of certainty. It's no fun to watch such predetermined games, and equally no fun to play them, especially in a tournament setting.
