These are interviews for Fantasy and Stork in preparation for their match. Very funny and also quite poignant stuff being said here. Source: playsc.com
Fantasy: I will sell my soul to the devil for the Gold (T/N: He actually said "he'd use any means necessary to win", which I logically assume would be the above.) Q: Anything to say before the finals A: After losing to Stork last time, I wanted a rematch to have my revenge. And win the championship.
Q: How's your practice? A: The team helped me a lot on the matter, allowing me to concentrate on the finals. Right now I'm practicing hard with my teammate, as well as protosses on other teams. If only I had better people skills (laughs)
Q: If you get another silver, you'd beat a record that not even Yellow could achieve: 3 OSL silvers A: I thought about getting the silver mouse. But I'd be much happier with the golden mouse. A silver mouse would be quite depressing, so I'm going to get gold this time. If I get gold, I'll just just like Stork with one OSL gold and 2 silvers. Hopefully that will be the case.
Q: How do you feel about the matchup against Stork? A: TvP is played in a similar way by everyone these days. For that reason, I've researched a lot into the MU. I've already found many builds which are pretty much in their final forms. I want to show everyone some revolutionary TvP builds. It may be impossible to find a weakness to Stork's PvT, but I feel that him playing standard is in of itself a weakness.
Q: Did you watch his 2008 Bacchus OSL Finals against Flash? A: I believe that if you want to win it all, personal feelings should not be involved. You have to do anything necessary to win. I learned a lot from watching Flash that days. (T/N: For those who weren't around then, Flash basically used builds that specifically countered Stork's style and beat him to a pulp 3-0 in OSL record time. Pretty much put Stork into a slump for months)
Q: Your TvP is quite good, but you lose a lot to Stork. A: In preparation, I watched the VODs of my games against Stork. I find that I generally lost those games in the early stages, or that I wasn't able to use the builds I prepared.
Q: Yellow must have strange feelings about this match. He'll probably watch intently. A: I believe it doesn't matter who wins, neither of us will leave the Kong line. (laughs) Maybe change the order. If Stork wins, he'd still have a lot more silvers, so I don't think he'd leave.
Q: But if you win, you'd leave the Kong line, right? A: I think even if I win, I'm not really turning my back on Yellow and Stork. I'll need another gold or two before I can really leave. Q: Stork has said he REALLY wants to get out of the Kong line. A: Yellow thinks Stork has already fucking graduated with honors. But I want him to stay in school a bit longer. (kekekekeke) Q: Stork fans these days are called "Stork Hooligans". You must feel a lot of pressure from them. A: I think the louder the cheers, the better. So it's all good. More fan support means more support for ESport. So I like it. (T/N: Nothing like parroting Oov's "good for ESport" to show he's truly just Oov's puppet... I keed I keed, fantasy fans)
Q: The maps seem to be unfavorable for terran. A: Everyone says this, but I don't get it. I think they're all quite playable, so I know I can win. Besides, when it comes to the finals, map balance takes a backseat to your state of mind. So I don't believe I'm at a disadvantage.
Q: What's your score prediction? A: Last time, I performed badly in games 1 and 2 because I was really nervous. I really want to say 3-0, but Stork is hardly just anyone. So I honestly believe it'll more likely be 3-2.
Q: Anything to say to fans A: Every finals seems to go to game 5, which is really good for fans. Hopefully my fans will continue to support me.
Stork (T/N: I am an unabashed Stork fan. If you find certain words in the interview a bit too harsh, it's because I'm actually translating what Stork really thinks, and not his PC answers, which he uses in the actual interview to not make Fantasy feel bad) + Show Spoiler +
Stork: Fantasy is a wussy little girl and wouldn't let me practice against Flash. He thinks too highly of himself. He's not worthy of me needing Flash as my practice partner. So of course I decide to oblige him. Can't say no to a crying little kid
Q: So here we have a repeat of Incruit OSL. This is actually the first re-match of an OSL finals. What do you think?(T/N: I'm suprised at this statement. Thought there'd be some Jaedong v Flash/Yellow v Boxer OSL rematches...) A: I feel this will be an interesting match. I kept on winning silvers, but then I met Fantasy and I won a gold. So he's my lucky charm.
Q: Who have you been practicing with? A: Fantasy has tied up Flash so he can't practice against me. Actually, I didn't even go looking for Flash. I have 5 terrans on my own team, and I don't feel their abilities are sub-par. So even practicing with them has already taken up my entire schedule.
Q: One of you is going to get the silver mouse. A: If Fantasy loses, then he'd get 3 silvers. But for me, this is just another step towards the golden mouse. I already beat his ass once, so it's no biggie to stomp on him again. Of course, a loss would mean a silver mouse. But I want that 2nd gold so I can get a 3rd one later.
Q: Analyze Fantasy A: Normally I don't really care to watch opponents' VODs. But since this is the finals, I watched them and broke down his play. Recently, terrans have been using the same BOs, so I don't feel Fantasy's a cut above the rest.
Q: Fantasy says your perchance for solid safe play is a weakness in of itself. A: I can understand that premise. But to look at it another way, it's the safest way to guarantee a win. I have to look on the bright side. Obviously, Fantasy's just trolling.
Q: Will you leave the Kong line if you win your 2nd gold? A: When I won my first gold, Yellow said I betrayed him. But I never left. But this time when I win, I'll officially leave it. Of course, on the off chance I lose, there will be two Kong members with a gold. So if you look at it that way, I think Yellow will be rooting for me. This way, Fantasy can be his little bitch with no gold to talk smack back to Yellow.
Q: What are you going to tell Yellow if you win? A: I'm going to tell him I'm officially going to betray him. I'll officially leave the Kong line. Q: Your fans are just crazy. They're even called "Stork Hooligans" A: They give me a lot of energy in matches. I actually love the vuvuzela and play better when I hear them. But alas, the evil suits banned them. Oh, I so want to hear vuvuzelas again. (Laughs)
Q: Maps are favorable for protoss A: Aztec and Icarus are both good PvT maps for the SPL. As for the OSL maps, I can't say for other teams, but my team generally find them favorable for protosses. Yet at Incruit people said the maps were terran favored, yet I still won. So this time, with favorable maps, I'm going to bash that noob into oblivion. Q: What's your score prediction. A: Last time, I got overconfident after 2-0. This time, it won't happen. Fantasy's not going to get a game off of me. Q: Anything to say to fans? A: Those who rooted for me last time in Gwangju against Flash should come again. I know I disappointed you guys last time, but this time it will be rape the other way. Hopefully you will all cheer for me.
Your birthplace is [전라도], thoughts on playing the final in Gwangju? ▲ I was born in Gwangju and I'm familiar with it, but that's about it. There's another boon, though: that day is my father's birthday. Originally, I would have had no time to see him, but with this new schedule, I can now visit home, which is great.
How is preparation coming along? ▲ Stork is usually very eager for his matches. Even on rest days, he'll be working hard. Skipping PL today wasn't Stork's idea, it was my choice. Last time, when we lost, people said we were Songbyung KHAN. So this time, since I didn't want to hear any more of that, I let Stork stay back to rile up the rest of the team. It feels like we actually don't do enough for Stork, and I feel sorry about that. Even though we all want to help Stork, we don't really know how best to assist him.
Two days after the final, you'll be facing off against SKT1. ▲ I think that players like Stork who don't mind map or matchup are few and far between. So regular training goes very smoothly for him. I'm very confident in Stork. As long as his condition is good, when we play SKT two days after, there is a definite opportunity for Stork to play.
A quick evaluation of Stork? ▲ Stork's kept up his strength for very long, especially in PvT, where Stork can be called the master of strategy and tactics. Fantasy is also a man of many tactics, but Stork practices more, so we won't give Fantasy a chance to out-strategize us. Our team's already done a solid job analyzing the maps and opponent, so as long as Stork doesn't choke, he'll win.
Park: Fantasy TvP best in the entire world T/N: Yes, he did just troll all Flash fans on TL.net! LOLOLOLOL!!!
Thoughts on this year's final at Gwangju? ▲ Actually, this time around, I've relegated OSL final prep to the assistant coaches, while I focus mostly on PL. This time, the finals are at Gwangju, and it's Fantasy's third final, so we must have him win. Within the team, we have to give him additional support. The venue is going to be Yeomju Gymnasium in Gwangju; we've played matches there before. This place is very well suited to Fantasy getting his first championship. Also, whether Fantasy wins or loses, I'll still consider sending him up for Proleague.
From the standpoint of a head coach, how do you evaluate Stork? ▲ First off, he's a very different player than our Bisu or Best. Stork is very experienced and works very hard; we felt he was this type of player last time Fantasy played him in a final. Stork's great at shutting down all of his opponent's prepared strategies, it's really incredible. On top of that, the maps favor him this time, so he won't have so much of an uphill struggle. But we'll be working hard to find winning methods, so that Stork won't be able to top Fantasy.
And a quick evaluation of Fantasy? ▲ Out of our team's players, Fantasy is the most remarkable. He's very hardworking, and with the sheer force of his concentration he can slowly chip away at his weaknesses. When watching Fantasy, I always think, “Why does this kind of player not have a championship already?” This time, he'll definitely win.
Lastly, a bit of your own thoughts? ▲ I think Fantasy's mech play is the strongest right now, especially in terms of TvP. I think Fantasy is the strongest. Though I don't know how good Stork's PvP or PvZ are, his PvT is as weak as before right now. Fantasy definitely has a chance to earn the gold.
wowowo fantasy check dat man out hoping these revolutionary builds dont stay just in the smacktalk (and god forbid they are something like those imma-make-4rines-and-a-medic-just-to-transition-into normal-pvt-for-no-reason builds)
Badass interview from the terrorist. I hope his "revolutionary" new TvP builds live up to the hype. Looking forward to Stork's interview. Such a shame someone has to win this OSL. Can't we give them 2 silvers instead? jk

You have 2 more days Fantasy, 2 more days. Now go grab the Kim Taek Yong by the ears and start practicing crazy BO's on Gladiator 'till both of you pass out! You better not disappoint me this time man, I'll be yelling my soul out for you! JUNG TERRORIST HWAITING!~

I love the exaggeration in the interview, I've never laughed so hard. "So this time, with favorable maps, I'm going to bash that noob into oblivion." Thats how it should be for hype interviews imo, makes it more fun. Let's get it done Stork, this is your year.
Thanks for translation! Go Stork! Also, "뱅리건" is pronounced "bang-lee-gun" and it's most likely a short form of "Bang Hooligan" who stands for "Stork Hooligan". Basically, Stork Hooligan.

I second this. Always liked him, a very cool and unique fan. And he managed to cheer me up everytime he blew that thing.

I wish translators would stop adding their own touches to the translation. It's what I hate most when I watch anime. Just a personal preference though.

Not really. Or if there is one, I haven't heard of it. It's just a saying because of the whole gold mouse thing, and the fact that someone will get 3 silvers this upcoming finals.

There's no need for a revolutionary TvP build, have oov and Fantasy not watched Flash play TvP at all? We don't need new builds you just need to play better and have better decision making. I think played at a highest level T even has the advantage regardless maps, the 200/200 push power is crazy and cleaning up recalls looks much easier than it ever used to be. Also remember the 100 turrets at bases too.
Make a UMS of a typical lategame situation with one base behind and a push ready to go against a fulll toss army with arbiters, then repetitively play it against Bisu/Best until you win all the time. Or switch arbs for carriers and take away a base. Although i would like to see some early game heavy multitask dropping of Stork like Hiya did in that one game and like Flash Vs Best on Fortress (admittedly both times with map advantage). Seems like something he would try.

Yea, 68% is terribly weak, no chance for Stork.
In all seriousness what does he mean, just that Stork isn't any better than last time the two played or what? He can't seriously be implying Stork has mediocre PvT...

Stats doesn't really mean much. I think Stork has shown time and time again that his decision making vs Terran is pretty damn lackluster compared to the top PvTers. It's by far his most questionable MU in terms of actual gameplay.

Uh, I wouldn't question you there if you replaced "Stork" with "Bisu", but now I'm just really puzzled in how you can say that (if it's not sarcastic)
Last time Fantasy and Stork played I rooted so hard for Stork, I felt really bad for the guy, he is a really good player and he really deserved a gold, this time though I'll be rooting for Fantasy. I don't know if he is the better player of the two, imo he is not, but this is his 3rd final and I wish he'd win, everyone who worked as hard as these two guys deserves a gold. With that being said, Flash will rape everything in his path next OSL and MSL.

I can't speak for other translators, so this is only based on my opinion.
When translating between cultures, especially vastly different ones like the US and Korea, you must pick between translating literally, or what you believe would be the equivalent of the language being translated into. Specifically, trash-talking in western cultures that you just don't see in Asian countries.
So take Stork's interview. Make no mistake about it. It was as cocky an interview as you'll likely ever get from a progamer. Stork's oozing with confidence. I mean, what do you expect a player's attitude to be when he believes he can 3-0 his opponent? No matter how "respectfully" you say it, you're still looking down on your opponent. So really, is there any difference between "I think I will defeat him 3-0" and "I'm going to pwn that noob"? Yes, I took liberties in the translation. But there's no changing of facts. It just feels more natural this way.
Anyway, not saying whether my style would be correct or not. And I'm sorry you did not like it. But I do want to at least explain my thought process here.

holy shit i knew stork was a god at PvT but i didnt know it was 68% career thats incredible. Best is incredibly talented at PvT as well but i think he is just really good at macro and can't play any other style while Stork is much more well rounded and crafty.

I'm just testing if anyone is romanian enough to take such a ridiculous statement seriously. :D I think I was too obvious though, no one is gonna fall for it.
Torn who to root for. On one hand fantasy is one of my fave players. on the other having a toss win a starleuge might make some ppl stop bitching for a while.
So long as fanta doesnt lose a lead to carrier micro i will be satisfied.
The first time they met on the finals, the games were really good. I hope it'll be the same this time. So much bash talking from Stork btw, if Fantasy loses he will cry so much haha

he'll follow in boxer's footsteps and win the silver mouse
Wish Daniel could travel for this final and lead the Storkuligans on their cheers!
also, incredible this is the first repeat final in OSL history... the MSL had the same thing going until the three straight Flash - Jaedong finals changed that.
Hahahaaaah, ohhh man, you sure are showing off your Stork fanboyism here... if only Stork really said those words!
Looks like you're getting criticisms for taking liberties to make the smacktalk more hyped, but I understand. During interviews, I have to resist the crazy urge to make those boring players sound more interesting and cocky; only Flash really seems truly cocky (in a good way) in his interviews. I guess some people don't like the way you added your own touch because it doesn't look "professional", but hey, when you're the translator, you get to twist the words into whatever you want. ;P I'd say that tweaking a few words here and there in this context is okay, since it's smacktalk, after all.
Anyway, I'll be cheering for both players, and disappointed with whoever loses. And looks like Fantasy got a hold of Flash first, ahahahah that Jung Laden has fast reflexes, yes! Thanks for the translation! (Much thanks to you too, infinitestory.)

As baubo said, some of his translations have been colored by his 'unabashed' fanboyism for Stork. On another note though, this is smack talk specifically aimed at creating hype, so if there was a lack of cockiness from either side, it would be quite boring.

Thanks anyway.
To this and other related posts. I think translators can take liberties on doing their translations. After all, some of them do it to create hype for their preferred player and not for your own reading pleasure. If you don't like the way they do things, you can simply look for another translation that will fit your taste or translate it yourself.
Anyway, thanks for the translations, baubo and infinitestory. Song Byung Goo fighting!

Depending on the liberties taken you have to call it a "translation" then. If Stork would phrase things the way it was "translated" here, I would lose all my respect for him.

IMHO translations ought to be done professionally. It kinda ruins it when there's skewing, especially if it's only one side of the translations being done that way. And if a translator feels like getting creative then the translation should go in Blogs.

Other than that, thanks, I still appreciate it
My opinion is that since this is a smacktalk interview to bring up more hype for the finals, then skewing the translation in a fanboy's point of view is alright here in this context. HOWEVER, such fanboyism skewing should not be done in any other case, of course. I'm sure that we won't see more translations like this in the future, so I don't really think that baubo should be getting chewed out more. I think that it's a fresh breath of air from the usual "blah blah blah I know that my opponent is very good and I will work hard to win and defeat them cleanly" bland statements. Baubo maaay regret his decision a little, but hey, it was his decision, and since he's a dedicated Stork fanboy, that was simply his choice to spice things up. I for one, approve of healthy hype, and this seems like a decent amount to make everyone's blood boiling, whether it's in a good or bad way.
Maybe someone should tweak Fantasy's interview so that things will be even...
Has anyone else noticed how Coach Park didn't even mention any of the other players?
"Yeah, FanTaSy keeps this team together despite how Bisu just got 2 AK's and a ton of kills. Nothing big."
Ah well, I suppose that it's only natural to build up your OSL finals player, right? Look at Jan, she might have a point about saying that Stork's the one who glues his team together but in reality there are some decent players (JangBi) but their current record isn't that decent right now.
Oh nice, coach interviews added. Have to disagree with coach Park on the tvp issue though, since feb 24th last year flash is 29-6 vP with losses only to snow, free, kal, and best. On the other hand, fantasy has lost to movie, violet, tyson, and jaehoon just in the last 2 months. Still, I think both players have a good chance at winning and I'm looking forward to the finals!

The Kong line is made up of people who get to OSL/MSL finals but lose, it's named after Yellow (Hong Jin Ho) who famously went 0-5 in finals. Stork lost in so many finals that he's still in it despite winning one, and fantasy also has been to multiple finals but never won.

Flash said in an interview after the semifinals that if Stork contacted him first, he'd practice with him, but if Fantasy contacted him first, he wouldn't practice with Stork. So I guess Fanta called 1st.
I'm actually rooting for stork in this one. First time... would only happen when the stars align and the earth shakes, I would root for any player that has the chance to stop Fantasy from taking a gold.

I will probably get ninja'd, but I will enlighten you!
Kong Line: First, you have to know who this infamous "Kong" is. "Kong" is the nickname of Hong Jinho, aka Yellow who is on the team KT Rolster and recently got discharged from the air force (he also played on the team Air Force ACE). "Kong" in Korean means "bean", which rhymes with Yellow's last name, Hong, and Yellow's height... is not exactly the tallest, which is why people have dubbed him "Kong", and poking fun at his small bean-like height.
But what is this so-called "Kong Line"? Yellow is infamous for always getting to the finals and getting silver medals; he has a whole bunch of 2nd place titles. That's why his fans call him the "King of Silver" or the "Silver Surfer". Whenever another player starts to rack up a lot of silvers, people then say that they are officially a member of the "Kong Line", or "Silver Surfer Club". So far the members of the Kong Line are Yellow as the leader and founder of the club, Stork, Fantasy, and I'd count Jangbi as well, even though some people say that he doesn't have enough silvers. It is definitely not a good thing to be a member in the Kong Line, so the finals may decide who breaks out of it.
Hope you get even more into BW after learning this interesting tidbit of info; BW has a lot more fun trivia like this! In fact, go look up the "Kong Dance" on Youtube right now. It is mandatory for all Starcraft fans out there.
Fantasy = a slightly closed mouth of Hiya. Same results, Stork will smash him.
Park: Fantasy TvP best in the entire world T/N: Yes, he did just troll all Flash fans on TL.net! LOLOLOLOL!!!
that's does it, Park YOU ARE FUCKING DEAD!!! DEAD I SAY!!! SKT1 has now dropped to my hate list. Yep, even lower than Jaedong Oz. w.e. just makes me even want Stork to 3-0 this loser even more. SONG BYUNG GOO HWAITING!!!

It's because they're both friends with Flash. So, Flash decided whoever contacts him first will get the favor of practicing with him/not practicing with the other one.
Flash doesn't have to practice with Stork; since they're on competing teams, I think it's actually an extremely sportsmanlike courtesy for him to even offer to help, although I'm aware it happens sometimes. I think Flash just wanted to put a fun publicity/hype build-up twist to it, since he's technically not obligated to do anything at all except crush his opponents, for example, Stork and Fantasy.

It must not take a lot to get to your hate list. Lol.
Rooting for Fantasy but I will be pleased if Stork takes this as well. Good games plox!
Who else gets the feeling that in one of the games fantasy will use some bat-shit crazy build, like deep 6 -->+1 attack valk timing push (the valks will snipe shuttles and fight storks carrier fleet as they get to +2 and +3).
Ok, I can't come up with a single good reason to use valks over wraiths vs toss, but you see where I'm going with this. I think something is up. And I think that the strategy fanta-oov is cooking up will spell utter disaster for one of the players, but which one?
Actually, doing the Hiya build might suit fantasy very well. If he mines (with vultures, not scvs) the shit out of the map, the swoops in with wraiths every time he stars losing some to pick off the observer, Stork will be very gas poor (especially considering he needs obs at he base to defend against cloaked wraiths, and that those obs can be picked off too), delaying HT or arbiters or stopping carriers all together if that’s the way stork wanted to do this. He would just not have enough scan though, and be forced to get a painfully fast vessel, but I think with oov's timing and his dropship/vulture/wraith control, it could totally work.
So why does fantasy bother to practice with flash when his upcoming match is TvP? If his just doing it to keep him away from stork, thats kinda cheap. The fact that they are both friends doesn't really justify anything, afaik.

I mean, just look at her face!
I don't really follow BW beyond the TL live report threads, but I've been impressed by what little I've seen of Stork. I hope to actually watch this live, but we'll see how crazy the timing ends up being. Song Byung Goo fightiiiing!
For those of you who want the "real" translation, just change any part where Stork says how he'll beat Fantasy to a pulp into "I am confident I will defeat Fantasy" and you'll have the real translation. Even the OP blurb about Fantasy being a little girl was just an exaggeration of a later question, in which Stork simply said how he's not practicing with Flash.
Yes, that's basically it. Everything else is intact. HE REALLY IS CONFIDENT AND ARROGANT IN THE ORIGINAL INTERVIEW. I simply made sure that showed extra clear in the translation.
And here i though Stork would have the advantage of practicing against Flash while Fantasy wouldn't find any decent PvT practice partner. I guess Flash forgot how Stork helped him to prepare his final versus Movie.
Gogo Stork, Ive always been a fan of Stork and I hope to see him add another gold to his resume.(he better get it this time because he wont be lucky to avoid Flash if he makes it to finals again

Depending on the liberties taken you have to call it a "translation" then. If Stork would phrase things the way it was "translated" here, I would lose all my respect for him.
You gotta understand, this is all for the show. The players do this, to elevate the emotions of potential viewers, to generate intrigue. Probably the OGN explicitly requested the players to talk in such a manner.

Basically BW is like wrestling and kespa is like wwe.

Hahaha awesome translation baubo! :D Great hype! I hope Stork crushes Fantasy so hard! Should be greats, to bad Fantasy made the call first, if Flash was practicing with Stork, Fantasy would have no chance whatsoever though
Out of our team's players, Fantasy is the most remarkable.
RIGHT
If you insinutate that it would be Bisu I'd like to point out that he hasn't been near a Starleague final since back in 2008.
Haha you know Bisu must really be kicking himself for not getting past Stork...he'd already have ordered the case to put his MSL gold in after seeing so many Zergs.
EDIT: Okay, Holgerius...Zerg's that DON'T happen to be named Shine.

He was knocked out of OSL by a Zerg (who is far worse than the ones left in MSL) you know...
I'm rooting for Stork on this one... his play is just fun to watch, and I feel like Fantasy's builds around his vultures are just getting a little old. Aside from that, NukeTheStars made a crazy awesome hype video for this OSL just like the last one.

Wait, the actual interview was only that different from the "non-PC" one you posted? O_O That's really surprising...complete with expletives/cursing as well?
I hope this turns out to be an epic 3-2 series (going Stork's way, of course :3). 3-0 stomp would be cool, but I'd rather enjoy more games
Lol Stork. The trash talk is strong with this one. Let's see if he can back it up. The Khan side of the pictures is much more relaxed than the SKT side. Fantasy, why so serious?
Poor stork, eating his own words hardcore. I went to bed in tears last night.
Haha, to be totally honest, I actually think the trashtalk brought much joy into this finale + Show Spoiler +
It made fantasys victory that much more special, how incredible hard he owned him. I still have this warm fuzzy feeling inside me, like I witnessed something special.
