Congrats day[9]!
It's awesome to see the PC gaming world at large recognize the growing Starcraft community and the figures who lead it.
He's easily the most lovable and affable of gamer celebrities.

My favorite day nine moment:
His chill vs combat-ex showmatch commentary, particularly at 7:00 where he notes combat-ex's failed cannon attack at chill's 3rd: "if there's anyone who knows how to be gay as fuck with cannons, it is my brother Tasteless... " followed by "...I used to wake up in a cold sweat at night and be like "momma would you please check under my bed to see if there's any cannons making!?!?" and finally "...prompting a 'are you for rela' from Chill. Well, for rela indeed, cannons be everywhere!"
Oh, and don't forget BEAR SEMEN! "we wouldn't want people thinking that we hold bears captive and jack them off for our product"

So excited for 2011 and SC2, thanks so much to Sean and the rest of the Starcraft community for making PC gaming fun in and outside of the window I play it in. And, obligatory "Day[9] helped get me from Platinum to Diamond" endorsement here.

I haven't been around Starcraft nearly half as long as most of the people around here I'm sure, but even being a relative newcomer I know plenty about Day[9]. Super-enthusiastic, charismatic, funny as hell, and brilliant analyst.

I too must add the same endorsement: Day[9] helped me reach Diamond. Without his dailies I couldn't say I'd be at the same level that I am today.

I'm pretty sure any possible contenders would busy themselves more with congratulating Day[9] and continuing their own selfless awesomeness rather than mind some gratuitousness ladled to such a deserving contemporary. Also no need to try to rub those congrats in someone's face, though, jack.

as far as gamers are concerned, I can't really think of anyone that I would put above him for this award, but maybe Im biased.

I would question him getting a nobel prize or something for his current efforts, but that's not what were talking about, were talking about gamer of the year.
