Man, the host has a pretty deep voice ![]() http://www.giantbomb.com/giant-bomb-in-korea-the-gsl-starcraft-ii-finals/17-3514/ This is the only other footage they have. According to today's Happy Hour over at Giant Bomb, they have no plans for another video unfortunately. They filmed over 8 hours worth of stuff, but apparently not all of it can be used for videos. They showed the outtakes today on a live show though, and most of it was them going around Korea with the Blizzard guys which was pretty cool. Brad also talks about the trip on Giant Bomb's most recent podcast for the first 30 minutes of it: http://www.giantbomb.com/podcast/

Then again, Nada in danger of being relegated to... kicked out of oGs? xD I don't believe so. I'm pretty sure that is the rating of how each player is doing at that time. I hear oGsMC seem to always do very good in the in-house games so I'm not surprised that he is in the A team. Plus, people have bad days and that is probably why Jinro, Haypro and Nada are on the B team.

They're a team that have been together for a really long time, so they're pretty experienced and Brad is a Starcraft nerd with a nice deep voice which is why the coverage is so good.

Then again, Nada in danger of being relegated to... kicked out of oGs? xD No it's not like that, you do start in B, but it is important to note that the A and B team doesn't work like it does in BW. In BW it is really like a set team, a lot like football where you don't just swap people around all the time but look for a very stable setting. So promoting someone to A or demoting someone to B is a big deal in traditional team sports because you need to have a stable team as they work together in matches. As a result the A and B teams are split up and it's a big deal to get into A or go down to B. As for the way it works in our house they just exist so that on average people play more within their skill level, and because the group of players is too large for everyone to play everyone in ranking matches. Therefor we are able to promote and demote players based on results of a short time period. That's why you sometimes hear Jinro made it up to the A team and then the next time he is in B again. There's a group of players that go up and down a lot, not quite able to dominate the A team on a weekly basis but good enough to put up consistent winning records in the B team. So you see someone in B, he may have been A yesterday and the other way around. It's just a very brief glimpse in time. You see someone in A every single week and you know he's crushing souls.

I join the group of people that are curious about the gosu chairs some of the guys are using there. And, related to that, I think it would be awesome if TL/oGs/everyone made pages where their players put all of the equipment they use. EG does it, but, since Steelseries is a major sponsor, you basically just see them for every single thing.

I mean, its a great environment for improving, its your day job, you got co-workers to discuss your job, living in that kind of atmosphere will no doubt improve their skills. 12 hours of practicing there is totally different from 12 hours of practicing on ladder with random opponents. However, I would totally understand anyone who doesnt want to stay there. living with 6 people in a tiny room is not what westerners are used to, in fact they probably have a house that big for themselves instead of 30 people. It is fairly common in asia tho, like university residents. The residents in NA are HUGE compare to what they have in Korea or China, 8 people in a tiny room is actually the norm. But yeah.....now i feel really bad for Huk, its going to be hard for him to get into GSL now, its gonna take at least half a year. If he stays in Korea it's going to be hard, but moving out would mean a great loss and possibly losing the opportunity to compete at the highest level. Aww poor Huk ><

Thats why when people call people like qxc and select ~pros~ I can't quite take them seriously.Yes, those guys are very good, excellent even, at SC2. But do they get paid to play full-time. Is it their job? Have they spent years in living conditions like these doing menial chores just to get up to that level? No. But all the SC:BW B-teamers that get knocked out in the major league qualifiers have. The B-teamers who's highest achievements will be some glory in the minor leagues have given up their college and even some secondary education for it. All the SC:BW A-teamers, they've been at it for even longer. What do the SC2 ~"Pros"~ have on that?

The practice house is pretty neat, definitely better than the conditions the old BW players had to put up with. Anybody remember that National Geographic video on Xellos? The pre-CJ period when Cho couldn't feed his kids.

In that sense, the living condition is relatively decent. I understand why a European might not enjoy the living condition so much though.

Hopefully theres going to be more money flowing to the teams so they can pay for less cramped living space. As people said before Seoul is a insanely crowded city so living like this is nothing special for the koreans, really it's just us Americans/Europeans having insanely huge houses/flats compared to most of Asia.

Either way he wanted to go home to Germany so that the doctors there could patch him up. He didn't mention anything about the house being too small. I think the players get informed about that before they go there anyway.

Also i have one question, With the internal ranking system does the best and worst player switch around a lot and hows does the training for a player differ (if any) if they are first or last?

If I had the skill I know I would love to live in a place like that, at least for the first couple weeks. Hard to say how it would affect you as the weeks turn into a month, and then many months. If any of the Team Liquid guys over there are reading this, I'd love to hear more comments on what it's like to live there, if it ever gets hard to handle.... if anyone ever goes "I'm burned out on SC and just can't play today" and just how bad that would be for your gaming career... and also not just the negatives, the unexpected/random positive things would be great to hear as well.

the living conditions also seem a bit crowded, don't these guys earn enough money not to sleep in bunk beds like children? User was temp banned for this post.

And to the guys talking about how bad the living quarters are- it's already stated that the rooms are used for nothing but sleeping. What's wrong with bunk beds? It's like living in a college dorm. It makes much more sense for money to be used on other stuff.

Welcome to Korea and a Pro Gamer house. Yes, I saw your other comments about you living in China. I'm sure if one of the players had a problem with the conditions (for example, TLO) then they would find something more suitable. This isn't your problem. It's their's. Thank you for showing your concern about the players well-being. Nothing wrong with being short.
