Didn't someone say that there is already a Chinese player on Prime anyway? TLPD (lol) says there is a French player as well.

Edit: Well I guess it depends on whether or not there is a team/clan difference there.

Really? He gets to the Ro64 in ONE GSL out of three and that's enough to qualify for A class? Something doesn't seem right there. Also, not exactly sure why ST recruited someone who has hardly achieved anything yet. The language barrier isn't exactly going to help either.

Teams in all sports recruit players who they think have potential, no matter what language they speak.

wow never thought that would happen.. not trying to take anything away from Torch's play but i wonder under what capacity he was recruited for, because i don't rate his play that highly compared to other foreign players. however he does seem to be naturally talented and with good coaching and training partners he could be a sick player.

though i wouldn't be surprised if he was recruited also as a connection for them into the foreign scene. if thats the case i think torch is a great choice.

either ways props to Torch. making it onto a Korean team.. damn wp.

Great for Torch, but I hope someone shows Startale some of his recent tournament games. He's got a LOT of work to do before he can compete at the top Korean level. People are saying he has the potential to improve, but he's about as creative as Jinro and TLO and they are in and out of the oGs A-team with much better mechanics and RTS experience. Wish him the best, but I get the feeling that Ro64 in the GSL will be the highest he'll get.

I think the biggest point is that he is Code A. So it gives them another player in GSL 2011 for January and as long as he's not in the bottom 50% of Code A he either stays in Code A or has a chance to move to Code S.

It makes perfect sense to put some time into a player who has a chance to get visibility for your team even if it's just for a couple of months. However, if he improves enough between now and January he can maintain Code A and possibly develop into a Code S player. Seems like a win-win situation for Startale and definitely for Trevor.
