I just read every single post in this entire thread and it's dreadfully painful to see the same 5 posts recycled over and over. I'll try to recap to prevent anyone else from going through the same mind-numbing experience.
Q: Why was IdrA not invited? A: Because he does not compete in the NA ladder, he posted this himself. Invitations and regional qualifiers were based on ladder rankings. For many regions, this information was available in a battle.net blog. (SEA Example)
Q: Dimaga and White-Ra aren't from Russia, wtfomg!? A: Blizzard employs humans, humans make mistakes. Why is this such a big deal...
Q: BoxeR and FruitDealer not allowed to play in the tournament? WHY!? A: They didn't QUALIFY. MakaPrime and NEXGenius placed at the top of the Korean Qualifier long before GSL Season 1 concluded.
Q: $40 to watch the stream? Fuck Blizzard!! Moneygrabbing fuckers!!! A: The opening ceremony and tournament streams are FREE. The paid ticket allows you to watch the rest of the Blizzcon events, panels, etc. Just like every other Blizzcon.
Q: SeleCT isn't even American! He's Korean!? Why is he representing America!! A: This isn't WCG, people aren't representing their nations. The regions listed are simply to identify which ladder the participant qualified from.
Hope that helps. Can't wait to see Blizzcon this year.

Thank you, Dox, for that summary.
On topic, I can't wait to see FruitDealer vs Boxer battle it out. I think Fruitdealer will crush Boxer though, legendary as he may be.
I can't say much for the other players and matchups except hope they'll be exciting and jawdropping to watch.

TLO vs Sen again ?! eyyyyyyyyy woooooohooooooooo

He is also, without a doubt, the most immature player from the US, it's a shame really...so it's a good thing he won't be representing the entire continent with his forced imba whining and poor sportsmanship. This will be a tournament of gentlemen

It seems Blizzard asked every regions Esports manager (or whoer does it) to handle X spots. The NA guy decided to do it by ladder, Korea through qualifications, Europe by invites, I think.

All in all it's actually a really good lineup, from memory all Blizzcon invites have always been slightly odd. Although I still can't help but feel gutted for the people that were overlooked or not given a fair shot to qualify.

Will not watch until IdrA is invited
Hope more people complains, like I!
IdrA fighting!

They are not specifically being called Russian.
The label Russian applies to the name which Blizzard assigned that specific server region. Agh, I don't even know what to say about all of the whining.
Beyond that, Nazgul's post clarified the how quite a lot. The Korean server, yes SERVER, not nation, hosting a tournament and TLO not laddering heavily with NA using top ladder players really boggled my mind. Thanks for the clarification.

Not really, I think he's better than the majority of players here, only Genius/SEn/Maka (on a non-sick good day) are at his level.
And of course Fruit is better, but he isn't playing

Im just excited to watch some high level games

TLO prolly didn't want to give away any of his terran stats to gal competetors.. But now it doesn't matter
