They typically take a while to delete 'useless' threads. And so far, aside that one, only beta threads have been deleted today.

His language is very different in that thread.
He's saying "I dunno, I think maybe today, but I have my doubts".
Thats not the same thing as this thread at all.
This guy has a habit of just guessing at when the beta will come out. He hasn't given any reasoning in this thread to support his claim and he's made the claim before. Admit it, the guy just guesses at numbers that sound like likely dates (ie Fridays, end of months, etc).

No, it's quite likely beta will be released before Blizzcon. Then they can have a large set of computers logged on to beta accounts at blizzcon for the people there who aren't in beta. They did the same thing for WoW: WotLK at last year's blizzcon.
I think it's more likely they'll just release it when they feel it's ready for beta testing. It could be today, sure, but today is just as unlikely as any other day.

From my d2 days I remember that blizzard tended to have big releases on mondays and usually in the morning or around noon, so that they'd have the most staff on hand to deal with the usual problems. Releasing something big just as all the employees go home for 2 days isn't a great plan.
Cz, I actually talked to someone about this a couple of weeks ago (probably on July 17th lol), and he mentioned that they have released betas on fridays in the past.

Heh I was randomly looking up starcraft on urbandictionary... the most popular definition mentions SC2 as "being hoped by fans to be out by 2010". That was written in 2004 and was almost certainly sarcastic.

Honestly that's the impression I get as well. Feels like something went wrong or somethig big came up that forced them to push it back. My guess is that if you asked most of the SC2 team back then where they thought the game would be by August, they would almost certainly say somewhere in beta.
They've said a couple of times they have been working on their servers to allow that many people to connect to battle.net. Not only are they launching one of the most anticipated games ever, they are also doing it all on new servers, new software (battle.net 2) and of course, the game itself.

I think you are correct that there was a delay releasing the beta relating to b.net2. So, all that is left is the terrible, terrible waiting.

OP what info did you have anyway? I mean, you live, presumably, former Yugoslavia so I kind of doubt you have close friends working with Blizzard (though I can be wrong).
2 days is too lenient, but I feel a permanent ban is too much because he appears to genuinely believe something will happen today. So 90 days should do it, maximum without being exiled.

Whoever believes there is even a 0.1% chance of BETA either being announced, or happening today.
I made that post. They've deleted at least 3 similar posts of mine today. However, there is a good chance they are just sick of this "omG beta coming out TODAAYY!!" which has been going around the forum for like a month now. Karune even has a quote saying "if I had a dollar for everytime you've gotten a prediction wrong" (paraphrased) to one of the beta spammers... maybe they've just reached a breaking point?
Speaking as a long-time troll of SC2GDF, this amount of mod activity is unprecedented. Usually mods aren't browsing the forums ALL day, they come sporadically, clean up the trash and leave. While it may not be beta, something very fishy is afoot. Blizzard mods hate the forums so there must be a good reason why they are monitoring it so closely today...

The whole awesomeness of this thread is that the OP was getting banned if he was incorrect. Don't lose your wits just because the thread turned gold, BAN the man for at least 90 days, or more. This is assuming he is wrong.
Is it possible that poor Vrad forgot that it's still the 31st here in the US? We've heard that the press is under NDA about that last update until August - which is of course "tomorrow" for us. (And we didn't hear exactly when in August anyway - it could be in the middle of it I suppose.)
Because I believe in his sincerity, I'd rather give him a funny punishment (I don't know, maybe make him play against FrozenArbiter with LiveStream) than banning him. That way, we could all laugh at him getting destroyed and everyone would be happy.

Using lightyears to describe a far distance, or a long period of time is common and an accepted defination. Basically it doesn't only mean how far light travels in a solar year. Get over it.

Forget which beta, but one was definitely released on a friday.
Also Blizzard emplyees stay over night and over the weekends all the time, especially when a game is entering it's final stages before release (which SC2 is).

I'm sure that if he said that infront of most Serbs he wouldnt walk away clean, maybe he would come out victorious I don't know his build but he wouldn't come out happy, certainly if he was infront of me he would have a hard time comming out happy. So in that sense yes pretty crazy Serbians not just Serbians, all Yugoslavians have a short temper. If you don't try to insult we are very friendly people who are always down for a great time.

My lord you are stupid. I could easily repeat what I said in front of a group of Serbians and walk away clean. That is because I did not say that all Serbians are insane, I merely called a single Serbian insane. Now, if they are nationalistic fools like yourself who couldn't stand an American criticizing a Serbian then fine, but I said nothing wrong. I really can't be sorry that my including the word 'Serbian' created so much anger since it's entirely your fault for misinterpreting it. Threatening me with hackneyed nonsense like "certainly if he was infront of me he would have a hard time comming out happy" doesn't make your countrymen look very good.
I never claimed that no Serbians hold proper jobs. Again, I have absolutely nothing against Serbians. In fact, I can't even recall ever meeting a person who I knew to be of that heritage, so it would be pretty difficult for me to form any opinions. However, the few Serbian people that I've dealt with in this thread have been terribly strange and illogical.
And please tell me how I am in debt to Serbians again? My mobile phone, lights and internet technology were created by Serbs?
