And the 8800gts is a bit faster than the 9800gt, which is what i recommended. A 9800gtx+ is like about the price of an 8800gts (~$130) whereas a 9800gt is ~$99 Realize that EVGA is actually a pretty expensive manufacturer (the items can be found with the same amount of VRAM for like $10-15 cheaper in other items on the list. EVGA 9800GTX+ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130339 $134.99 EVGA 9800GT http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130450 $109.99 EVGA GTS 250 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130450 $149.99 The GTS250 is slightly rebranded, although the only different about it is a SLIGHTLY different cooling scheme and stock fan, as well as a bit of a chassis change. $109.99

You should buy a video card, they're cheap nowadays. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121320 $54.99 and it'll close to max out SC at 1280x1024 and down.

There will be a huge price drop in the 2xx cards when the 3xx cards come out, and considering how soon the 5 series is coming from ATI i expect we will have the 3xx series soon.

With an upgrade to that you'd probably be fine, i recommend: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121320 9600gso, 512mb, only $34.99 (where can you go wrong?) A 9600gso will trample the 8400gs and easily run SC2 well. Of course if you feel like spending more thats up to you.

Just wait till you sc2 or sc2 beta comes out then you can get a gtx 250 or hd 4870 for cheap money, beause of newer generations. Also with those cards you can max out everything very easily.

Well Im currently stuck on this video card since I'm sort of cash plus this is primarily a "work" machine.
