# Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium # 4GB DDR3 # 1 TB SATAII # ATI HD 5770 1GB DDR5 DVI HDMI Im going for something like this, do you think it will be enough to play SC2 on medium/high? Im not a hardcore gamer, so no ultra settings and anti-aliasing, etc.. This is not for me. I just want a smooth gameplay on medium/high without major FPS drops. edit: I might go for Win proffesional.

That setup can run Crysis on high...or very high if tweaked correctly.

As I cant be arsed reading 105 pages, I go right ahead and ask; Anyone have an advice for a super computer that are freaking fucking silent? Those fans are killing me. I probably need to replace fan with watercooling and what not. Is it hard to replace the fan that are on the videocard with watercooling?

Do you honestly intend to massively overclock a graphic card? If you have the money for watercooling, why not just buy a better graphic card or CPU as opposed to buying a better cooling system? Cooling solutions like that are really intended for enthusiasts. I would imagine that something like GTX 295 would require a watercooling solution to reach its full potential. What is your spec?

I was thinking watercooling ONLY because of the silent effect. I do hope and think watercooling is more silent then freaking fans. I can not take this noise my computer is making. So my most important thing for now is a big tower for easy access inside (got a medium now which is way too small imo), and watercooling only for the silent effect I am thinking it gives. I am not gonna overclock anything. EDIT: I really want to emphasize on the idea that I want a silent computer. I thought I was getting a silent computer last time I bought, boy was I wrong. When I turn off my computer now after 12hour use, it is like an orgasm inside my head.

The i7 may be clocked slower but Turboboost kicks in when it notices underutilized cores (which will happen when playing SC2 since it's only threaded for 2 cores). The 5730 is in every way better than the 4760 in terms of ability (not by much though), power consumption, heat production, and has DX11 support. Just curious, what is the price difference?

That spec looks like the Asus N61JQ which is available for less than 1000 dollars (except for the 6GB ram part...N61JQ has 4gb). It is a wonderful choice. Trust me, I have done significant amount of research on laptops and desktops. To be honest, I prefer having just one laptop or a big laptop and a netbook for college...I don't see the point of having a desktop unless you are really intending to play games like Crysis rather than studying... That Asus N61JQ is powerful enough to run Crysis on high with some medium settings, or all high if you use a 3rd party configuration. That means you can play 98% of the games out there maxed out without a single problem.

Even 3GB is normally more than enough, even at the highest settings: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/memory-module-upgrade,2264-3.html

OS: win xp Proc: P4 2.55ghz Ram: Ddr2 800 gpu: gt9500 i can run sc2 but it froze for a few secs(its annoying and sometimes cost me to lose) when new unit is being built and it runs all in low settings.i thinking of buying a new pc before sc2's release. Due to lack of minerals. I tend to buy some cheap hardware and just OC the Proc and GPU.So here is my soon to be specs. Proc:Intel E5300 (2.6G) dual core ( I'll OC it to 3.0ghz up to 3.5ghz) mobo:Intel BLKDG41TY G41 X4500-V/S/dvi Corsair 4GB XMS2 800 ddr2 (2gb x 2) 320gb Western Digital SATA Gpu: my current gt9500 ( ill OC this also) and some nice PSU, proc and gpu cooler. My question is, Can it run sc2 on ultra? and can i record fpvod while i'm playing?
