While the objectives of the game are the same as those of the larger games previously hosted on here on TL.net, the setup of this game will be slightly different. As usual, the game will alternate between the day cycle, where the town will be able to discuss and vote to lynch one member of the town, and the night cycle, where the mafia will get to decide which player to kill. Also, all blue roles with night actions may act via PM during the night cycle only. A mafia player count greater than or equal to the innocent player count results in a mafia win, while the elimination of all mafia players results in a town win. If neither of these conditions are met, the day/night cycle continues as usual. What is different about this game? Well, for one, mafia operate on 1 KP rules. This means that mafia get 1 KP per night throughout the game regardless of the number of mafia alive. Secondly, the voting rules have been slightly altered. If at any point a single player has the majority of votes, the day will end whether we have reached the time limit for the day cycle. Therefore, a day might be cut short if the town reaches a consensus quickly. Thirdly, a person has to have a majority of the votes to be killed, or there will be a no lynch. The role setup will be of my choosing. I will post a list of the possible roles that are in the game. Each role may or may not be used in the game setup. However mafia number will stay consistent at 2 for an 10 player game. Rules: Voting: 1. You must post your vote in this thread in bold and red. 2. Votes should be made in this format: Vote: Foolishness 3. You can not autochange your vote to the losing or winning bandwagon. 4. You may abstain, but must let me know: ie: "I abstain" and it better be in bold red.. 5. If the final vote count is less than the required number to lynch, there will not be a lynch. 6. You may vote for a no lynch. If a majority of the people vote for a no lynch, the day ends without anyone's death. Cheating: Cheating includes (but is not limited to) the following and will get you banned from future games: 1. Creating or using an alternate ("smurf") account to play/post in this game. Players are getting very sick of this. Don't do it to have two characters in the game. Don't do it to post/PM anonymously. Don't do it for anything. 2. Posting after death. One polite goodbye post is acceptable but please do not post anything which could POSSIBLY affect the game. 3. Betraying your role and ruining the game for everyone by doing something like hand out your mafia's member list to the town. 4. Logging on to someone else's account / checking their PMs / looking over someone's shoulder to get their role. 5. Comparing role PM times to determine roles. 6. Posting screenshots of your inbox. This is not a photoshop competition. 7. No post editing. Do not do it for any reason. Clues: There are no clues. So don't look for them. Time cycle: Day/Night cycle will be 24/12 hours, subject to change. Ban List: I will accept any players Modkills: Hopefully I don't have to. However, if you miss a vote where the day goes to a no lynch, I might have you replaced if you are inactive. Credits: Flamewheel, Incognito, Chuiu, Ace, Tracil, Caller, BloodyC0bbler, Qatol, Ver, LTT, Pyrrhuloxia, and Plexa for taking the time to run mafia games for us. Also to Chuiu for the TL Mafia banner. On April 18 2010 12:20 Bill Murray wrote: Townie You may just be a normal player but you are the backbone of the town. Your goal, with the special roles of the town, is to help bring the Mafia to justice. You get no special powers but the ability to vote during day. Blue Roles may look pretty but the real power lies with you! If you get a green role, don't fret! Just play the game. Detective You have the ability to make night investigations. Once per night phase, you may perform a role check on a player. The results of the role checks will be returned to you with the next day post. You will also see if someone is bloody with your night action. The check to see if someone is bloody supercedes their laundering of the night, so if both actions occur you all know which one occurs first. you may use a role check every night Medic You have the ability to prevent one hit on a player of your choice during the night. Each paramedic can only stop one hit and as such if the number of mafia is greater than the number of paramedics on a player then that player will die. You will know if you saved the person. The person will know if he was saved. If you are protecting a veteran, and they are hit, your ability supersedes theirs. You cannot protect yourself. A medic can protect someone the night she/he gets killed. They won't be notified of their save though, since they are dead. Roleblocker: Each night, you may choose one person to roleblock. That person's night action is canceled for the night. The person blocked will be notified that they were roleblocked if they tried to perform a night action, but will not know who blocked them. You receive no explicit information as a result of your roleblock. Mafia Goon: Your goal is to eliminate everyone else in the town. Your ability, as a group, is killing off whomever you decide on at night. Ace is hosting "Pick Your Power Mafia!" which still has quite a few slots to fill! On April 22 2010 05:37 Ace wrote: ![]() Welcome to another game of classic destruction where a bunch of players try to outwit each other and lead their team to victory! This time there is a MAJOR twist though - it's Draft Day. That's right, this game of Mafia called Pick Your Power has everyone starting off with blank roles: Vanilla Town, Vanilla Scum or Vanilla 3rd Party. Vanilla Town can only vote. Vanilla Scum have standard scum abilities: They can all kill at Night and appear guilty to role checks. Vanilla 3rd Party have their own conditions. Of course all The Mafia know each other before the game starts. When sign ups are finished we will have the draft phase. The order of the draft will be revealed a bit later. However there will be a pool of roles. The pool of roles will be picked secretly by draft order via PM. Once that role is gone, if anyone else tries to pick it later they will be notified it is gone and will end up stuck with their Vanilla Role. If you've been following it is entirely possible to end up with Scum Cops, Scum Vigilantes, Town Role blockers and so on. In short:
Drafting Phase: The draft order works like this. Every player will pick 2 numbers between 1-20 and PM me. Once I have everyone's selections I will reveal the draft order. The first number closest to 1 that is picked will be first in the draft order. Of course that would be too easy so if several players pick the same # they ALL will be reset to last in the draft order. Then I would move on to the next lowest number (in this case 2) and the same rules apply. If no other player has picked the # 2 while someone else has, they will become first in the draft order. And so on until I get to #20. Now the second # picked is used to determine who goes first in the event of players picking the same number. The lowest # of the second # goes first and so on. In the event players picked the same 2 numbers I will dice role to see who goes first. So as an example: Player A - [4][19] Player B - [1][12] Player C - [1][6] Player D - [7][19] Player E - [3][4] Player F - [7][19] Players B and C both picked 1. They go to the back of the queue. Player E is the next lowest # and the only one that picked 3. He/She goes first. Then player A since He/She is the only one to pick 4. Then Player D would have been next with 7 ahead of B and C, but Player F also picked 7 so they both go behind Players B and C. Current Order: Bolded players are locked into position. Player E Player A Player B Player C Player D Player F Now I just resolve Players B, C, D and F. Between B and C, I look at the second #. B has a 12, C has a 6. So C gets to pick before B. Current Order: Bolded players are locked into position. Player E Player A Player C Player B Player D Player F Now between D and F they picked the same 2 numbers [7][19]. So I just dice roll and end up with Player D going first. Final order would then be: Player E Player A Player C Player B Player D Player F Simple right? Of course this is all done to support epic mind traps between Scum and Town for picking #s. Remember once this phase is done you will know the draft order publicly. You just wont know who picked what and what roles got picked ^_^. General Game rules: Majority lynch. No double lynches. No PMs except if you're roles allow it. Play to win. Don't play against the spirit of the game. I'll edit this later as I see fit. All power roles and amounts are Open. Priority is given to some players over others. If you are currently banned from playing a game you are not allowed to play in this game. Days last 24 hours, nights last 12. This game will go fast. Mafia have a kill power of 1! Credits to anyone who has moderated before and Mafiascum for the initial setup. Available roles:
Sign Ups: - 20 players max.
