I'm actually pretty lazy when it comes to keeping track of new technology. I'm a J2EE developer and our clients mostly stay on the same old architecture, that's why we're still using Java 1.4.2  | ||

edit: the global crisis has a huge impact on my company, and as a result the job is now poorly payed. Hope to change job to something better soon. | ||

funny thing is that it pays better, is way more fun (socially), and I've gotten laid more times in 1 1/2 year as a bartender than in 5 years working in IT... I heard most fulltime software developer have to use all their free time keeping up to date, is it true? Not always true, but that is kind of the same for any career besides civil service work (police, fire, etc.). If you're a software developer you like that stuff anyway and should be so lucky to be able to do it all the time. I'm sure there are people who would say "ew so I have to play starcraft for hours every day!?" ...yea that would be real hell cough cough. | ||
