i also wanted the lakers to have a tough series, as it would better them prepare for the finals. (assuming they get there)

And the Celtics would have to utterly demolish orlando the next 3 games to make a splash. If they squeaked by 3 wins in another best of 7, they're showing that their team is only good enough for the cavs to trash them. If they demolished orlando, then they might possibly with red auerbach's ghost's help on top be able to make a series with the cavs, kg would be forced to say F... it and willis reed back into the playoffs. I hope Orlando wins to make sure KG doesn't even consider risking his health.

It could have been because the Cavs knew just how much better they were than the Hawks and let some things slip, or maybe it was the return of Horford and better play by the Hawks. Didn't watch the game so I don't know for sure. Either way, while I think the Cavs are a VERY dangerous team and playing very well right now, I can't help but think that people might be disregarding the level of their competition a little too much when talking about how amazingly they've been playing. Detroit and a less-than-100% Atlanta are not very strong tests with which to measure how much of a contender a team is. The Cavs haven't been tested yet, and I'm interested to see how they react when they finally hit some serious competition. I will say that I've been very impressed with how focused the Cavs have been and their ability to not let leads slip away (a la the Lakers) and continue playing to blow opposing teams out.

By terrorized do you mean his trading cards look cool? Because Dwight's offensive game is 2 years behind schedule and still pales in comparison to Duncan/Yao/young Shaq. This series would be completely different if KG were playing. You see it in the way the Magic consistently give up big leads. With that kind of talent, they should be getting an automatic two points during crunch time, but Howard's game doesn't work well enough without the rest of the team going 3 happy and Van Gundy doesn't do much to change that.

Among the Celtics' players, the lingering impression was that Wright was as much at fault as anyone because he did not commit the foul in the proper manner -- especially when he had the perfect opportunity at the moment when Anthony bobbled the ball before regaining control and sinking the game-winning shot. Celtics are right, that was a weak foul attempt.

Well I'm not dismissing them by any means, because there's not any evidence that they're not as good as everyone thinks they are. But, what I am doing is reserving my judgment, as opposed to many others, until I see them truly tested. Yes, they're good, but how good? We won't know until they play against tougher teams.

I think I've read somewhere before that one of the reasons why DHow's offensive game hasn't developed as far as his defensive has is because he hasn't had many summers off to work on his game. His Team USA obligations have kept him pretty busy in the past few seasons, and, instead of working on his game and improving certain skills, he's been busy preparing for international basketball and working to gel with players who are on different teams. With Team USA, all Dwight has to do is finish when he's passed the ball, rebound, and defend. There was no need for him to develop a post game because of how international basketball disfavors low-post players like him, and because his team was overloaded with scorers. I don't know what this summer will be like for him, but I hope that he gets a chance to just work on his own game and realize some of the potential everyone knows he has a abundance of. While it would be bad news for the rest of the league, I think it'd be awesome to see just how far he could go with his combination of strength, speed, size and athleticism. He's basically the PF/C version of Lebron in that he's a freak of nature with regards to his physical gifts.

they suck. but they have lebron so it doesnt matter. seriously, without him, do they even crack the playoffs? lebron is such an insane physical specimen with great basketball instincts. when his shot is falling, like yesterday, it's over. the hawks were playing well, until lebron took over. he's unguardable. you know when you're in a game with a guy who's way better than everyone else, and he dominates so much that it becomes not fun? that's what it was like yesterday, he completely killed their spirit. just having him on the court makes such a huge difference. by having to account for lebron, it opens up all sorts of opportunities for his teammates. when he was out in the 2nd quarter, they couldn't get shit for shots, and the hawks formed a decent lead. maybe it was just the game i watched, but this guy is ridiculous. he's at a whole 'nother level. he has all of the physical gifts and is smart as hell.
