Honestly though, I think Brad Miller succumbed to nerves, he should have taken the wide open jumper, his shot is more reliable than his ability to drive to the basket IMO, and plus a jumper is probably more reliable than being forced to hit 2 clutch free throws.
Otherwise, it was a great play, just botched the execution a bit.
GREATEST FIRST ROUND SERIES.... EVER yeah it would probably have been better if he took the jumpshot instead.

The only reason why the celtic defenders and Rondo (who just got him in the face) came back defensively was because MILLER WAS TOO SLOW DRIVING TO THE LANE. And you are talking about tyrus' jumpshot??? Who needs a jumpshot when you have a wide open lane. With tyrus' speed and athleticism i think he wouldve done a better job than miller. It wasn't a designed play. You seriously think they would design a play for Brad Miller with the game on the line? Who are you kidding. They were looking for Gordon first, then Rose/Salmons as a 2nd chance. The only reason Miller was open was because of a miscommunication, I don't give a shit how bad a guy is, or how well a play was designed(which is a joke by the way because Del Negro is a shit coach) no one is going to be that wide open. Miller had a layup and got fucking mugged. What are talking about dude you think that the coaches only give out 1 play and say run that play no matter what. gordon was probably the first option but that play led to the middle opening up and miller being open. It was probably "if gordon is open pass to him but if everyone collapses to the right side of the floor (which is what happened) miller will be open in the middle". Though vinny sucks, he has 2 great assistant coaches, you have to remember that.

I don't think 100% that the set play wasn't for Miller. He's a great free throw shooter (not against pressure though) and Boston probably least expected it. I think Perkins was chasing Rose or Gordon with Rondo and that gave an opening for Miller.

They have 5 seconds to get the ball in, you don't have time for more than 1 play. The play they ran fucking sucked. Gordon/Rose/Salmons were so unopen they couldnt even inbound the ball to them. They should be thanking their stars that Miller was even open. The guy was just standing there hoping to draw 1 guy away from the other 3, and they left him completely open.
And furthermore, no way he settles for that jumpshot. That lane was so god damn open, if he didn't get mugged he either makes that layup or gets 2 and 1.

well right now san antonio is getting there ass handed to them. I might call it quits on watching the rest of the game soon if san antonio dont come back. Plus i've noticed that sa's crowd is so weak. I can't believe i lived in that city for 2 years. I can only hope the mavs can play this well through the rest of the po's. 82-71 into 4th with 10 mins left...the jet just scored 3. 85-71.9;45 remaining. I had to edit to revise my post and the jet scored another 3. 88-73 with 9:08 to go on the quarter.

Why can't you believe you lived in the city for two years? Man I feel bad for San Antonio; now is their rebuilding years.
|
For some reason I really want Dallas to go deep, I just feel sorry for them kinda falling off after having some strong years heh.
|
yeah, it couldve been better if manu was healthy.
at the meantime: rockets and blazers looking to be another really good game. 68-71 for the blazers halfway into the 4th.
|
Man Rondo shows how much I know about Basketball.....I saw him and college an everyone was so high on him and when I saw him play I wasn't that impressed. Now hes developing into a great player for the Celtics.

It feels weird watching the Spurs out on the first round. Is this the end of the Spurs Era?
|
Yeah he wasn't that great at Kentucky but now he's an All-Star.
|
Portland just beat Houston, ouch.

b/c it seemed as no fans was out there until the end of the games. It felt as they had to pay people to go seat in the seats. I love san antonio and all but the fans are just not into it. Then they have those annoying ass streamers. Bad mannered shit.
Edit: P.S. GO MAVS!!

poor Spurs. I hope Portland/Houston goes to 7 and Houston wins... that way Yao Ming will be too worn out to be effective

Think Howard loses a game for that elbow?

BOS CHI: not sure about the stats but games always seem to go into OT...crazy, crazy series
POR HOU: another game to play for b roy and the blazers. bench players need to pick up the slack...history says houston has the better chances of winning the series regardless of whether it goes 7 games, although blazers still have a glimmer of hope :D
ORL PHI: philly seemed out of it right from the get go...hope this goes 7 games with philly pulling off an upset
DAL SAS: as expected...time to start rebuilding eh??

Just watched replay of the Celts and Bulls. Surprised more wasn't made of Rondo's last foul. I've seen them call softer flagrants earlier in the season. Bulls really choked though. With Allen out of the game for so long and up by 10 in the last quarter, they really showed their inexperience.

Time for duncan to injure his leg, miss most the season, the spurs luck into the #1 draft pick again, and then they rebound strong and win a few more titles
