http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playoffs/2009/news/story?id=4086325 Even as a person who is cheering against the Celtics, I can't help but feel bad for them and a little disappointed that we're not seeing them at their full strength when it counts.

if they were at full strength they still would have lost but wouldn't have been able to make excuses!

I'm not so sure it's Negro's fault, I think he called timeouts at the right time (except the last play of course) They're expected to know because that's their job dude. The same exact situation happened twice in 2 games. He's supposed to be the smartest guy on the court and he dropped the ball twice.

I do think they'll get past the Bulls, but they'll fall short in their quest to repeat. Just not enough firepower without KG. I think losing Powe is a pretty big deal for them with the lack of frontcourt depth as bad as it was already. Fortunately, Chicago is not a very big team and they don't have the post players to punish the Cs. However, this is a team that's already won one game in BOS and barely lost the second, now heading to their homecourt. I think BOS has to be a bit concerned and nervous, particularly since Rondo is still not 100% either.

k I really don't think you're allowed to say that considering how amazingly they played last year. If they had a full lineup you really don't know if they would have pulled it together again. Especially with the improvements in their other players. Like they didn't look great early in the playoffs last year, but then they really stepped their game up. I think it really would have been between La/Bos/Cavs ;o

The Celtics couldn't win on the road until 17 games into the playoffs, Allen was misfiring because he had a sick child, Garnett was a jump shooting choker, Rondo wasn't worth covering, Perkins was unproven. Pierce, Rondo and Perkins were injured in the finals. Pierce was the only consistent player among a team of on and off players. And incompetent Doc Rivers vs GOAT Phil Jackson. By the end of the finals, the Celtics were crushing the Lakers (who be guaranteed to crush any other team in the league) by 40, Phil Jackson was shamefully pretending to draw up plays while the entire new Garden was taunting the Lakers before the 4th quarter. After the game. analysts concluded that Kobe << Jordan. Whereas before he was happily laughing off the constant Jordan comparisons, and he knew that if he had won, he'd probably be bumped to one of the best 10 players of all time. And he had given up in the fricking finals by the 4th quarter. Bottom line, the 2008 finals Celtics (not the 2008 playoff Celtics) and Lakers were in a different league than the other teams, and the Celtics had beaten the Lakers so badly that the Lakers couldn't say we had our chances or they got the calls, the Lakers could only conclude that the Celtics were a vastly superior team. The 2008 cavs basically had a Rocky moment and the transitivity arguments are bunk. 2009 Celtics are older, tony allen never replaced the next Posey, and Glen Davis while decent to good lacks the consistency, old school intimidation, and presence that PJ Brown had. The 2009 celtics have been riding Rondo 3.0, but the only way they could surpass the 2008 team is if Alonzo Mourning hopped on instead of Moore.
