i don't really know how the rookie draft vs iccup ranking works, but i'd bet there are players below his ranking that got picked
i was going to say maybe his style is too non-standard to make it in korea, but he seems to be doing alright on iccup

He's married and a paid progamer in China. Noone in their right mind would abandon that for cleaning toilets and being one of the dozen people who are trying to make themselves noticeable...if not for prestige. And as a married person I'm sure he cares for the family's welfare a lot more than prestige, so that's that.

yep... F91 is probably making some pretty decent money and is really famous in China being probably the best player in the country. In Korea he'd be getting 0 money, not even getting to play in any official games.
big decision... look at Nony or Draco even (Draco especially). He made more money from TSL and other stuff after he even left Korea than he did while he was in Korea... it's honestly a waste of time (aside from the experience of a different culture I guess) from an economic standpoint to be in Korea. When you're in Korea it's a lot harder to play in international stuff because of timezones, and the money-making potential is pretty much 0 over there. Might as well be outside Korea winning a couple hundred bucks here or there or getting paid $50/month by defeat than being in Korea getting absolutely nothing.
UNLESS of course you're just REALLY passionate about the game (like Idra seems to be), then being in Korea is a great idea and it's fucking cool to be living that dream... but a lot of people just play for money, in which case Korea is not worth it.

ahh, didn't realize f91 was married i thought he was younger, that sort of puts the clamp on it

A couple of people earlier in the thread suggested it was Bisu - would be nice to get it confirmed.

u overrate F91 and underrate korean scene too much. B teamers can beat F91 on regular basis. Staying in china and be the best with family much better.

[R1] is probably still qoo)kuni who used to be a progamer on KOR team (i think)

and badawi isnt entirely f91, it was a sub 200 apm newbie when i played him

"someone who does risky shit that doesnt fall into either category" is what i call a good player and i cant believe you just categorized koreans into either cheesing or playing standard.. thats so not true and you know it.. (hopefully) otherwise the game wouldnt be that great.
There are so many possibilities in starcraft that you have to exploit every single of your opponent's weaknesses etc.. that also means every one of us has a unique gamestyle/timing/etc.. and a unique way to adjust our "tricks"/solutions/decision making to the opponent's style.
Plus he beat you in a bo5 ? 7 ? if you were better than him you woulda outplayed him and won right after losing game 1.. just admit it and move on man he's better than you and could read you like a readme.txt is the reason he beat you.
And i insist.. starcraft is not just "either cheesing or playing standard", oh wait you're the one in korea i shouldnt be telling you all this..

Obviously you're not in a sweat, nobody ever is. It doesn't mean you aren't angry. Nobody can call everyone else an idiot and stupid and ask if they're dumb in literally every single post without having some nerd rage.

i doubt i call people idiots in more than half of my posts.

Ok here is your post, read it loudly please and tell me you were not trying to lower F91's merit and to justify your loss at the same time? although this is not the point of my post because SO MANY people criticized you for this already..
But you're also saying that "doing risky shit that doesnt fall into either category" is actually not "playing standard"... no sir this is not true, you always have to take risks in 90% of sc games in order to upset your opponent's play whether that "risk" could be a drop or going mech or full hydras or fast b3 or WHATEVER.. F91 has an original gamestyle (which would obviously involve some "risky shit that doesnt fall into either category blabla" just like any top iccup zerg or good player) That being said, i know that you are a great player etc.. but come on you gotta move on.. quit being a bm and calling those who disagree with you dumb/retards, i was only saying that F91 was better than you and could somehow easily read your predictable tvz.
