I was 18-2 now I'm like 25-13 with the same score... Nooo, there's a difference. I don't enjoy playing people I *KNOW* I'm going to beat, that's just as boring as playing people that I know 100% will rape me. I like playing people who I know are around my skill (anywhere slightly worse to being slightly better), that way I can have good fun games.
Frankly I don't play at all to improve, so it's not like I gain anything by getting raped by good players other than saying "wow this guy is 10x my skill , woopdidoo"
Also I feel like I learn just as well from playing people who are my skill. Playing better players has never helped me. I'm able to just as easily watch my losses as well as my wins and look at my flaws and try to fix them. If I cared enough to want to improve that's what I do. Also practicing in single player helps me a lot more than getting owned by better players.
So ya, that's my philosophy. Kudos to everyone who likes getting rolled by better players, but that's not fun for me !

It's also that it's just a really rare opportunity to play some of those names. But your philosophy is understandable anyways. If it's not fun why do it.
