Before I begin this thread, I would like to say that I am a previous Lastshadow hater, however recently i saw him on iccup and begin to have a chat with him. During this conversation i realized that he is not as bad as he seems, and that i really want to understand what drives people to hate this kid so much. Additionally i would like to say that i am not some smurf or lastshadow bud that hes asked to write this, i am known as Fury to most people, and well i am not prominent in the foreign scene, i am atleast known to quite a few. Lastly i would like to say i hope people will actually read this not just say “lastshadow hax ez!” or whatever immature replies your conjuring up.
Why?
People “hate” lastshadow because of his map-rigging and other abuse scandals. While he has clearly admitted to map-rigging the scandal of abuse, the truth is unknown. Supposedely Kawaii has “fessed” up to however there is no solid proof that they cheated on ventrillo, however for argumental purpouses i will say that he did indeed cheat.
Even if he has cheated/abused, i feel there must be some other scource of great anger towards him. Testie HACKED. not cheated, not abused, HACKED. Im sure countless other top foreigners have hacked aswell. Testie is also a known and respected member of the community, even if he is going inactive. Quite obviously people are able to forgive. However people can’t seem to forgive lastshadow. I really do wonder why. He used to be bad manner, these days hes very good manner. I came at him insulting him, and he kept cool when i first talked to him. He has every reason to bm me, however he refrained and was nice. So why do you people hate him so much?

AoN.Chika, someone who has been helping the community by writing very nice interviews of foreigners interviewed lastshadow. I found it very interesting because that is a story i do believe many people feel very strongly about, and this to me really shows the true nature of why people hate lastshadow.

People did not respond kindly in any fashion really, however the thread has remained open, as a venue to post your opinions and overall was a relatively succesfull post by chika. Things were not so similiar at the other end of the foreign gaming spectrum.

People hate lastshadow with a vengeance. I have always been under the impression that teamliquid is a fair and nice website, with nice coverage of all the starcraft scenes: foreign and korean. However an administrator for teamliquid DELETED the interview for absoloutly no reason. He said something along the lines of posting an interview of lastshadow just makes him even more satisified because its giving him attention or something. However as any type of publication informing the community of anything, it is always expected to give both sides of the story not just accept one as the truth and completely not shed any type of coverage at all, or even when someone posts an interview you deleted it! This sounds like the beginnings of propaganda to me.
Conclusion
Yes. Yes lastshadow abused/cheat, however never hacked. Why cant the community just accept that and move on. Not neccisarily become BFF’s for lyfe! with him, just stop hopping on the band wagon of hate and show some compassion. I think that maybe some of the hatred for him comes from the fact that they expect him to be a horrible gamer without abuse/cheats but in actuality hes actually a quite decent gamer and im 100% sure hes able to compete with div 1 foreigners. Not that he is in the category of people like iefnaij, white-ra, strelok etc. but he is still a formidable opponent.
Hopefully people will respond to this in a manner manner (pun intended). I fully understand that this will probably be deleted at TL.net, and i may even be banned (its posted at both gg.net and tl.net) but even so im willing to take the risk.

the admins here just dont like him, and its their site and they will delete anything thats related to him, fair is not a issue here, the admins have said multiple times its their house and they can do what they want, so i dont think this will stay opened for long or produce any kind of discussion.

you mentioned Testie and him being respected, that took a loooong time for him to earn that. For most of the time he was legit after the hacking, people would treat him like trash, and after countless times of proving he didnt hack and was legitimately good, as well as not being the biggest raving cock around, peoples opinions changed.
LS in most posts, comes off as some egotistical douchbag, who also happens to have abused in the recent past, as such he is treated accordingly.

His attitude and personality are pretty subpar. He constantly is whining about something. He has rigged maps MORE than once, and was caught more than once. Why would you do it again after being caught the first time? A little while ago he wrote some massive story about gg.net helping him get his girlfriend back, and in return he would help train someone ROFL. I mostly stay away from the foreigner drama, I tend not to follow things very closely. However, after reading a few threads about lastshadow I agree with a lot of people here that his attitude is just horrible.
In the interview with Chika he mostly made up a bunch of excuses. Nobody cares why he cheated, or that it wasn't technically a hack. Say you cheated, apologize, don't make excuses and move on. I think people would be more forgiving over time if he was more apologetic to the community.
Maybe LS doesn't think he has anything to apologize for, but that just shows his immaturity. It's like a toddler defending himself as to why he hit his brother. "Well he made fun of me so I hit him", it's completely devoid of any apology and shows that he's unable with his current level of maturity to take responsibility for anything he's done.

When I first responded to this post on GG.net a few minutes ago, I didn't know much about the person creating the post nor the person it was about. I stated what I knew and that little bit alone told me that LastShadow should not be forgiven in the near future nor should anyone else BUT him be the person to ask for forgiveness. Anyways here I am checking out TL.net and I see the same post listed in the broodwar forums so I give it a look; mainly looking for reactions to perhaps learn a bit more.
Well I have to say after reading everything that everyone has posted, it is clear that LastShadow is definitely not deserving of forgiveness. The thread creator is CERTAINLY a friend of LastShadow or LastShadow himself - I'd bet money on it. The point of this thread was to ask for forgiveness for someone else? For that reason alone TL.net should close it. Then the response posts: the quotes from LastShadow himself? Sickening. Fury's responses to the response posts: childish and blind. It would seem that no one is ready to forgive him and the general consensus seems to be he'd have to perform well in offline events such as WCG before respect is given.
Forgiveness was asked, it was denied: reasons listed and solutions suggested. This thread has reached its end and I don't see anything more coming out of it except possibly a flame war between the thread creator & posters. I'd hope that moderators close this thread soon.

Have you seen his blogs? Aside from the cheating / getting caught / cheating / getting caught i think that most people hate his attitude and the way he talks. He just doesn't shut up and constantly brags about every little thing he thinks is great about himself. He talks like he's the #1 foreign player, and he hasnt even done well in any tournaments. He did decently in wcg online qualifiers but OH LOOK kawaiirice was obbing and lastshadow is suspicious as hell. He goes something like 33-0 on iccup but OH LOOK he did it without antihack. My points is that he never does anything straight up, there's always some little detail (or big detail) that completely overshadows everything he does.
I mean, look at oldy. Oldy was caught fucking maphacking and people have already started to respect him again. You know why? Because he didnt keep making these stupid "apologies", constantly saying he's innocent and he's done well in various tournaments. He just said "yeah, i hacked and I wont do it again" and as far as anyone can tell, he hasnt. He hasnt given any reason for people to suspect him again. He just dropped it and let it slip to the back of everyone's mind and I think most people think of him as a legit player again.
Plus its the people he hangs out with, moonrai, game, kawaiirice, dino, and pretty much every faggot BW player that has ever walked the earth. Moonrai and game seem to be self hyping idiots like lastshadow who give themselves praise at every chance they get, yet fail to ever do anything impressive. And all dino does is talk in caps and brag about hacking. I mean how can you be taken seriously with this group of people?
Long story short he needs to shut the fuck up and move on. Although I think his BW career is pretty much fucked beyond saving.

maybe I can help explain why nobody likes Lastshadow.
- He cheated / abused / whatever you want to call it *multiple* times. He lied, and deceived people, he posted about himself, shameless self promotion, bragging, tons of other terrible qualities.
- Now, he masks everything in an attitude he thinks will appeal to other people. He's trying to "rebuild" his reputation by giving people one-sided and skewed stories about his past, victimizing himself and trying to brush off all the bad things about his past by taking advantage of people ignorant about the foreign scene who don't know him already.
- If you see beneath his facade of trying to come across as a "changed man" you can see he's just the same as he has always been. He's egotistical, delusional, thinks he's way better than he is, only cares about his image, and tries to promote it in shameless and stupid ways. This season and last season his ICCUP stats have been highly suspicious, although nothing has ever been proven, but having actually watched him play, his record and rank do not match what he actually looks like when he games.
Point being, all he cares about is becoming "known" for the sake of being famous or whatever. He's self obsessed and a terrible person. He doesn't deserve anyone's respect or admiration. Nobody who tries to show off how good they are should be respected by anybody.
That and he's never accomplished anything besides an ICCUP rank.

No not many people have fucking seen him play. We see what is shown to us, we arent going to seek him out and be like "hey i hear your a big cheating faggot, but i want to see how good you really are so let me watch you play" what the fuck. We see players like mondragon/strelok etc because they are constantly in tournaments and constantly pulling good results. Why doesnt lastshadow ever participate in these tournaments like esl and shit if he's so goddamn good? Im sure if he just shut the fuck up at least one tournament organizer would let him in. you cant just play iccup and call yourself a top foreign player thats completely fucking retarded.

Let me tell you a story
There once was a kid who was walking through a gamestop one day, and he came across a box, hidden behind another box in the pc game section. It was starcraft battlechest. He looked in awe, holding in his hands something he felt to be the holy grail itself, then steeled himself home to test its capabilities. He installed the game, and while doing so read the guides that came with it. He knew he was ready, he rushed onto the battle.net arena, sure of his victory, and was destroyed. He cursed his opponents mother then logged off. He went online, looking for more information to become the champion of the game. He stumbled across two websites, TL and GG(for contents of story he goes from TL to GG). He instantly signs up on TL, reads some posts, then knowing everything he starts to post, spewing forth his knowledge, ridiculing all those who disagree. He then starts to play more, winning occationally, this is obviously a cause to celebrate, for all victories by the champion must be reveled in.
After a period of time however, the people of TL begin to treat him as an outcast, he is not sure why, he is better than them, smarter than them, and obviously has a bigger cock, i mean hes the champion he has to r ight? Anyway, he ends up getting attacked, many times by one person, so he gets so mad he alters a map, altering the battleground to his favour then destroys his opponent, mocking his in ability to get with women and ability to play sc. He does this some more, then once caught the people of TL cast him out.
He moves to GG, and acts the same way he did at TL, i mean hes the champion, the last hope for the game. He brags about his iq, how amazing he is at scoring with women, how everyone loves him, etc.... and anytime he lashes out at people, he has a reason now, he makes up a disorder and makes it sound legitmate so when people fl ame him for being angry, he can make it seem legitimate. He then moves on to online tournaments, and realizes he still needs help to defeat his oppressors. He calls on some friends, and has them observe his games, being his free observer and telling him his opponents strategies. He begins to defeat them easily, but no, still people do not believe in his skill, so he decides to rise to the top of a ladder.
This ladder however is difficult, and filled with the strongest opponents he has ever faced, but without fear he begins his accent. He struggles, the ladder system is designed to not let you manipulate the game as he had in the past to win, but he realizes, he doesnt need to manipulate the games hes playing, if he can find people willing to throw the game. He then ascends to the higher rungs of the ladder, screaming his name and skill to all those who happened to live. Then announcing he is the best who ever lived, he continues to play, the stallwart champion of douchebaggery.
For this title of champion could go to no one but the legendary Lastshadow
Note, this is just a general recalling of the Champions history.

also have any of you even seen lastshadows recent games? your making off-color remarks about his skill when you arent gaming with him or have seen any of his replays so how could you possibly know? its just ridiculous. dont remark about something u know nothing about. We see what is shown to us, we arent going to seek him out and be like "hey i hear your a big cheating faggot, but i want to see how good you really are so let me watch you play" what the fuck. We see players like mondragon/strelok etc because they are constantly in tournaments and constantly pulling good results. Why doesnt lastshadow ever participate in these tournaments like esl and shit if he's so goddamn good? Im sure if he just shut the fuck up at least one tournament organizer would let him in. you cant just play iccup and call yourself a top foreign player thats completely fucking retarded.

- Because you need to be at least decent to get B rank, and it weeds out horrible players so we don't have to waste time testing every single person who wants to join. Idiot. Look at players such as Ptak and Octzerg, who used to be A+ ranked and shit on ladders, but they never played consistently well in Division 1 level.
- Lastshadow is decent, but he's a douchebag. Just because a progamer is notorious for being bad mannered doesn't mean the community should accept a third tier foreign gamer for being an asshole. Plus, Chalrenge probably never cheated and abused either.
- Everyone "knows" he cheated and abused, but he gives people a skewed story to try and build sympathy for him.
- Yes I've seen Lastshadow's recent games, ACTUALLY. Don't assume I haven't seen him play, retard. My cousin watches him all the time, and I've seen him play too - he's a one dimensional player who has 45969408 flaws and as I said before, is a third tier player at best.
