i've read the whole series (at the behest of my chick friends) and it really sucks. especially the last book. the first 3 are bad enough to be funny, but the 4th is beyond belief

Yeah pretty much. I admit I loved the books when they first came out. I know I'm a little older than the intended audience, but I still enjoyed it. The movie completely defiled my version of the story though t.t;;

The books are basically a series of romance novels. Girls love them (especially teen/pre teen girls) because their parents don't recognize them as actual romance novels.
