Well this time around people have been focusing on whether clinton would do enough to rally her supporters towards Obama. So there is some sound analysis coming out of this.

Anyone disagree with Fox?
Bill seemed to make the point that in surrounding himself with Biden's unquestionable and unrivaled foreign policy and national security know-how, Obama is now ready to step into office. It's a fair point. No one is a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to complex international issues, and the best leaders are those who realize the don't have all of the answers and can surround themselves with smart, critical people.
Clinton seemed sincere in trumpeting Obama's VP selection. It showed excellent judgement and foreshadows how Obama will build his executive group - picking the best people for the job, and not just awarding personal favors. Scary thought.
edit: And here is a cool story on John Kerry that's worth reading.

I appreciated your points Flaccid, Ty

This is similar to Bush picking Cheney and bringing in the likes of Rumsfeild. Bush had 0 qualifications to run for president, but he surrounded himself with people that did. I'm sure Fox was not criticizing Bush, after all, this is Fox.

yeah two tropical storms to be updated to hurricanes will dominate the news cycle
its smarter for them to reschedule, but it looks like a sign of weakness

They should play it off as wanting to help the people affected by the storms.

With Gustav expected to be a Category 3 it wouldn't say much, seeing what happened with another Hurricane that was a Category 3.

Well they need to differentiate from Bush, so they'll pull out the compassionate conservative card again and get local churches to donate supplies/food.

Fox is confirming that McCain has chosen a running mate...

intrade is starting to run full-steam towards pawlenty as the VP pick
|
really?
I guess that makes sense if they follow the tv storyline of 'countering' biden.
But there was a source in the mccain camp that leaked that mccain realized he had to choose romney, even if he didnt want to
not sure how accurate that source is or if mccain changed his mind, but at one popint romney was pretty much a shoe-in
|
romney was dominating intrade until the last 24-48 hours
then it switched and now is breaking hard for pawlenty
we'll have to see i guess =P
Edit: 80% for pawlenty now...
