And I know you're just trolling but you should probably touch up on your Google skills. Why don't you link to those news articles? It should be pretty easy for you since you are a Google expert.

The other day my uncle (a staunch Christian) said, "Isn't he [Obama] a Muslim too?" in the xenophobic manner only ignorant Christians can ask. (On a related topic - to this line of thought, not the election - my aunt decided to express her opinion of Proposition 8 [Eliminating the rights of same-sex couples in California] by saying I should've went to "this rally" where there were "some great speakers of God," which had some "great arguments," e.g., "If we let people start marrying the same sex -- what's next?! Letting someone marry an animal?!" She said she was honestly afraid of this. . FACEPALM).

It just astounds me how many people use Christianity to condone extreme hatred and intolerance. The hardcore, brainwashed ones are really, really scary.

That is beyond debate and its not in any liberal news places. Your asking me to pick on minor things that Palin said? I'm talking about outright lies. I've listed some of Biden's. Why don't you tell me which outright lies Palin has spoken about. Do you want links about any mistakes Palin might have made? Palin did pretty well, so that would be difficult. Perhaps you can tell me what mistakes she made like I told you about Biden's. She actually made few mistakes. Some were saying she exagerrated the number of times Obama voted for taxes. But it is only a matter of scale. She didn't just plain make anything up that I'm aware of.

It actually mostly began with political moves following Bacon's rebellion, where rich, white VA aristocrats realized poor blacks and poor whites were a threat to their stature, so they began institutional reforms (including the churches) to pit both groups against eachother, making it white vs. black instead of poor vs. rich. Racism, as we know it today, wasn't too prevalent until after that. Economically, slavery did nothing to benefit the majority of whites in the south, who also had terrible living conditions. Of course that's not the first time something like that has happened. Religion gets wielded as a tool by the powerful for both good and bad ends, and I think it's a mistake to see religion as the root problem instead of the people using it. BTW, the Palin missteps are in the same Washington Post article. ^^

Just stop being a blind partisan. The most Anti-Obama stuff most of you guys on here will tolerate is the phrase "I kinda like McCain". I'm not going to stop unless I get kicked or this thread's title changes to something that doesn't imply anything other than outright praise of Obama. If you can't tolerate opposing views, thats your problem.
