That real life picture of the Condor is ugly -____- You're ugly.
No, but seriously.... You're ugly.
Okay, okay, seriously... You're still ugly.
All joking aside... I think it definitely will be D3, as Blizzard wouldn't hype this up so much if they don't have an ace up their sleeves. Besides, all the previous hype things like this were for new games. The whole teaser thing this time is pretty roundabout and devious though, and we still don't know anything for sure. They sure played us like a fiddle.

How do I know? about 2 years ago I met with an employee who told me SC2 and D3 were both in development. haven't talked to this person since then but I don't see how this could be an abandoned/delayed project like SC: Ghost was, as Ghost was not even being developed solely by Blizzard anyways.
I'm keeping you to that.

When the Diablo II 1.10 patch came out, the Ladder system and Nightmare and Hell difficulties were rebalanced and all of the Monster-related pages were removed because it would be too much work to redo them all and Blizzard had to work on the War3 and yet-to-be-revealed WoW web content. So I went to archive.org, ripped all the old site data, modified the information and sent it to the Web team (took a few weeks). I got a reply saying thanks for the info but the pages were unusable because they didn't contain the server-side #includes, so they sent me those and I put in all the information over again (a few more days' worth of work), then they added them to the website. Fast-forward to a few months down the line when the Pandemonium event was launched, and I heard about new bosses being added. The Web team contacted me and asked if I was going to do additional pages for these new bosses, and I agreed. The new bosses were PanDiablo, Lilith, Uber Izual, Uber Meph, Uber Baal. At the time I wasn't familiar with Richard Knaak's novels who mentioned a small amount about Lilith, so I just assumed this was some random new character (she was essentially Uber Andariel anyway). So I decided to write a brief background history about her and they kept it intact. I also wrote the backstory to Pandemonium Diablo. I always thought it was kind of funny but it's sort of important to note that neither of those characters can be considered canon. No additional backstories were necessary for the other Ubers so I just reused their old pages.

If that picture truly is a California Condor, then it should be 100% Diablo 3, since Michael Schaeffer is a big figure in the making of Diablo.

Except the Schaffer brothers don't work at Blizzard anymore. They were among the first to leave Blizzard North and found Flagship Studios with Bill Roper, Tyler Thompson, Dave Brevik, Phil Shenk, and others.
EDIT: Relevance: Blizzard wouldn't make an official connection and reference to former employees.

It was confirmed sometime last year that Blizzard was working on a next-gen MMO. Who knows whether this will be said MMO.

Penguin=The brothers are back and have made D3 as sexy and revolutionary as D1... This is obvious guys

I could see something like Guild Wars (except way better, of course)
Meaning that towns are like bnet channels where people can meet up and then party up, and then go into certain areas that are instanced for them only. Hopefully they keep the main idea of mass monsters to fight instead of like in WoW where 3 monsters+ is you = dead most of the time.
Then it wouldn't be pay to play, but would still be MMOish (landscape is more accessible), but also Diabloish (smaller parties, no "zerging"). GW could have been a lot better if they changed a few things with the UI and the way you controlled your character, etc. I firmly believe that if it's something like that Blizzard could make it work (because I suspect a lot here didn't like GW)
I hate to bump my own post, but I was wondering if any of you have a comment regarding the above? I just can't imagine them making a true MMO for Diablo
