The symbol in the splash has the top line going higher than the rune on the sword. Compare the right sides, looks similar, but not 100%. | ||

I think it will probably be one of the little race emblems they have developed, you can see the one for zerg here. It seems like zerg would be the best choice, the terran and protoss ones seem too artificial, like you said. They could also release more zerg units soon, so that could be another reason why they choose zerg. Although, this could be too obvious. If it is sc2, they will find something obscure to show. | ||

If it's lighter maybe some lines are more visible then when it's darker. Dunno, my guess is that it's Photoshopped rather than color change. | ||
