Honestly, if all you want to do is push around blanket statements then I'm not even going to bother. You can't judge a person's intelligence based on a single vote. Political propaganda tells you you can, but really you can't. LoL, Jibba, if you have a decent argument then use it. If you'd like to hide behind inane positions like "If you haven't met and interviewed every single human in the USA and tested their intelligence in a comprehensive way (as of yet, not achieved by the vast scientific community) then you're not qualified to speak on the intelligence of people in the USA," then there's nothign to talk about. By that incredible logic, you would also say no scientist can comment on e. coli unless they've examined every single cell of e.coli in existence under the most powerful of atomic microscopes. Your logic FAILS. It's pretty easy to get a good cross-section of the USA, and it's pretty easy to see that literacy, intelligence, and power of analysis have gone downhill. Even during the Colonial era, people were prided on how well-spoken and well-read they were. Nowadays? You'd be surprised how many people don't even know how many planets there are in the Solar System. In fact, most people think the closest planet to Earth is the Moon. Sorry, but you're the one with his head stuck in the sand, hiding from reality around him. Take your rose-colored glasses off and try doing some actual research. It sounds extreme and sensational, so you reject it right? Somehow, nothing could ever be THAT BAD. It's just pseudo-intellectual liberal whining again. Sure. I actually invite you to say more, because all it does is further justify my point. If you actually want to put down some real positions, I'd be glad to debate. In all seriousness though, that law they're thinking of passing which allows the government to randomly check your computer/iPod/mp3 player for downloaded music and fine you accordingly makes me want to fucking slit the throats of a thousand cuddly little kittens.

Are you fucking with me? 19 men hijack our jets, crash them into three separate buildings, kill 2,974 innocent people, and we don't have the right to be afraid? And hell, that was just one attack. What about all of the other terrorist attacks that take place all over the world? Is this "terrorism fear fad" anything like the nazi fear fad Jews had in WWII?

I think the thing about books (which you can also get from reading the internet assuming it is something that isn't retarded) is that it keeps your brain functioning and processing. With shit the way it is and whatever the percentage of kids is that are entering high school that read at like a 1st grade level, shit needs to be fixed. Does reading a book make you intelligent by default? Obviously not. I'll get more information browsing the internet in a couple hours than if I spent a week in a library. However reading a book allows you to slow down and not focus on shock and awe or full action paced things like on TV and you can really read and understand the material. I actually have 3 Countries I get to bash seeing as I have lived in all 3! For now I'll stick with my home country USA I'm from the Midwest, so I have to say, I probably deal with the dumbest people on the planet. I mean honestly, anyone who's favorite genres of music are Rap and Country....that just shows you how ass backwards shit is. Things I remember from high school are that we aren't proud to be intellectuals. Our country bashes the smart "elitists" and don't want their opinions. We want to live with stupidity and never come out of it. I mean I slept through most of high school, yet I tested better than 98% of the school. Teachers aren't paid shit, and their expected to train these fucking monkey kids that think being dumb is fucking hard or cool. A message to kids out there that think the gangsta life is going to get you anywhere...grow the fuck up already and stop being a bane on our society. I doubt any of those kids read these forums. Listen I understand the dream of making money and doing little work, I am a poker player after all. However there is a difference between making money the way I do and still being somewhat useful to society and then being a fucking waste of life to the point that if I could travel back in time I'd fucking punch all their moms in the ovaries as soon as they got pregnant with them. Money is a good thing, but money without some sort of functioning brain means you'll probably just destroy your life and a lot of other peoples lives. Our politics are so dumb right now they give me a migraine to even think about. Sure we have TV shows like the Daily Show and the Colbert Report that mock the government, but really, it changes nothing. Those shows aren't coming up with ways to fix shit, they are just mocking the shit that is going on. That is seemingly enough to keep the people happy "Hey the government sucks, but at least Jon Stewart and Colbert are going to have some funny shit to talk about!". Then there are the people who don't think are government is in the wrong, mostly religious right wing nut bags that should all be put in potato bags and beaten until they either realize they are dumb, or until they die. People like Rod Parsley and John Hagee who are scared of everything and damn people to hell like they were fucking brought to heaven by God and anointed to tell people how to fucking live. Where the fuck do these fucking cunt bags get off. I have no problem with religion, unless they are a religion based on conversion. If you can't just be fucking happy and let other people believe what they want to believe without getting in their business, without getting in our schools, without getting into our governments, you shouldn't be allowed to fucking talk til you this little point out..."YOU KNOW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING MORE THAN WHAT ANYONE ELSE KNOWS ABOUT WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENS WHEN WE DIE!". I personally believe these are the cunts responsible for why America is so fucking stupid. Here are my main 3 reasons - 1. The people that believe the shit they hear from people like them are fucking mindless sheep. They walk around spewing the shit they hear Sunday mornings and act like they have life figured out. Here is what they think life consists of...Either something good happened and God blessed them, or something bad happened and the Devil is working to bring them down. They are homophobic, technophobic?, brainwashing cunts. 2. People who have done away with the shit preached on Sunday mornings and have reverted to being the anti church, but can't really come up with an idea on their own. So what do they do? They start being the people you see who don't put "limits" on how they live their lives. Drug abusers, alcoholics, people who think they can do whatever they want because they think God is BS and they don't answer to anyone but themselves. 3. The people that spew Sunday morning rhetoric, while simultaneously doing shit they tell other people not to do. The fucking hypocrites, which I think is probably the biggest portion. They pick and choose what rules to follow and they still like to judge everyone else. Obviously this doesn't cover everyone, but in the Midwest these people run rampant. Where are the "Hey religion has it's place, but it's not in every aspect of our lives, but we are still socially required to not act like complete fucking dumbasses and be somewhat useful to society" people? I'm not trying to bash Christian beliefs, but honestly the shit just needs to calm down. Religion clearly was not meant to be part of our government or our public schools, and I think they people that are bound and determined to see it play a role in those areas are fucking worthless and need to shut the fuck up. Also, the fact that everyone outside of the states assumes that there isn't anyone in the states that actually has a brain. I know this was mentioned before, but I'd like to reiterate that fact. Listen I know we do some dumb shit, but we are also the country that people come to for help. I'm not going to say we do a fucking good job, but fucking get your heads out of your asses. Sure we fucking nuked the shit out of Japan, sure we fucking start wars without just cause, but we also help other countries that can't defend themselves when a stronger country tries to take them over. Obviously we don't do it for every country, but you know, that is impossible. The fact is, and proven by this thread, every country has their fucking problems...except I guess Norway. Our problems just affect more of the world than most, thus we get more shit then most. It's just like the popular kid in high school. Say everyone knows you and likes you, but then you fuck up, that many more people know about it and that many more people start to dislike you, as opposed to the country that nobody talks to. Every country has those citizens that think their country can do no wrong and that they are the greatest nation on the planet for some reason or another...well ok maybe not every country. Unfortunately for the US, our country ass kissers are a bit dumber than most, and yet they are more vocal than most as well. The US may be the "Greatest" nation on the planet in some aspects, but we are far from being a great country.

Even if saying how you hate your leader is part of bashing your country, I don't think arguments were intended in the thread, just to say what you dislike, not to tell people they're wrong, which is silly in and of itself because they're just telling you what they see, so how can you tell them they're wrong, that they're seeing something that doesn't exist?

The US may be the "Greatest" nation on the planet in some aspects, but we are far from being a great country. Yeah I agree. I'm ashamed to call Ohio a Midwestern State, I wish we were Atlantic just to avoid association; I live in urban columbus, and I guess most of Ohio is full of farming hicks and rednecks. Americans are very classist. Suburban people look down at urban folk as being poor slobs who don't deserve an education. They believe apparently in that theory of if you're poor it's because you didn't work hard enough, and if you're wealthy it's because you earned it. Of course, they just happened to be born in their position, and were given for free a decent education, good quality education buildings, oppourtunities and connections, etc. And because they avoid mingling with people different from them, they end up with strange very conservative beliefs which really don't even help them

My experience is that there are a lot of stupid and lazy people, but there are also a lot of bright and clever people who get written off as stupid before you get to know them, even if it's just for a short conversation. I just got back from LA which seems to hugely shift the balance in favor of stupid people, but again I make that comment without reasonable evidence. My issue with this is people criticizing others for being ignorant, when they themselves are too ignorant to reach that conclusion correctly and rationally.
