Hello, and thank you to everyone in advance for taking a look at my problem. I am new (both to this web site and to ScmDraft [2]) and tried to create a Starcraft map using ScmDraft 2 both of which I have just downloaded in the last couple of weeks. It's my first custom map (I thought this would be fun) and I realize there could be various issues with the map. I have spent a few days on different online forums trying to figure out and adjust for various issues that could be making it fail including moving minerals away from the edges of the map, assigning players to all units and neutral (Player 12) to all minerals, clearing unused units, and additionally already tried adjusting the size to 90 x 90 which cut out most of the map and fixing it from there but it still wound up crashing Starcraft (the map pictured here is the original largest possible size 128 x 128 but cleared of all the BS I could find that could have been messing it up, as far as I could gather). I tried copying the basic Map Scenario setting from regular Starcraft maps that work fine, to no avail. I have not once, in over 20 separate edit/saves, been able to actually get Starcraft to load the map at all. There may or may not be an issue with me having used 'new' doodads that are still buggy w/ Starcraft, but at this point I have not been able to check that and am starting to feel pretty lost. (Yes, I'm sure everyone is laughing. Ha, ha.) I just got back into Starcraft after 15 years and I wasn't that great to begin with back then, either. I just really enjoy it and I want to make a pretty map that works (so just kill me). I'm actually just a regular person, even. I don't do programming/code, I rely on UI for this kind of thing and I only play some games, sometimes. I see that there is no way to upload the actual .scm file here, so I will upload an image as seems customary. Please respond if there is a way/if you are willing to accept my actual .scm file and try to halp. Again, I'm new at making custom maps and have been doing my best with what information I've been able to find online (I'm not being lazy and asking for help before I tried on my own really hard - I am seriously frustrated now), so even if you find many things you may think are silly or laughable or dumb in my map, it would super be helpful if everyone could refrain from any insults and just help figure out what might be wrong if you feel like it and just not if you don't. Thank you. In my original map, I actually tried creating a complex scenario but literally nothing will allow the map in any form to load in the game. Thanks again and yes, I am sure I am a dumb annoying newb who everyone wants to immediately kick out of the forum forever even though I've just joined with my lame little conundrum. All we can do in this life is try.

Is the map compatible with the version of starcraft you are using?
What about the size of the map? Irregular sizes cause maps to crash or are unable to load (I forget since I haven't messed with BW in a bit).
Have you tried asking on Staredit.net? They have knwowledgeable people there. You might even be able to ask SI (Suicidal Insanity) the creator of SCMDraft as long as you have error logs or something of the sort.
Sorry I cannot be of much help besides this, I am a bit rusty when it comes to this sort of stuff.
Although one thing I can suggest: Make a new map file that's as basic as you can get. See if the game runs that. If not, then it's probably not the map file but your settings or something causing the error. If it does run, then one by one copy/paste from your finished map and into the new map file, or replicating an aspect of the map one piece at a time, then seeing if running it works. If it stops running at any time, you have found your culprit. If not, then something in the map file was corrupted or something...? Idk, that's what I would do.
I never played around with scripts too much either, maybe there's something there.

Don't panic, the game is actually pretty robust to most things you could throw at it with a map editor. There's only really a few things that would lead to crashes. The easiest way to figure it out would of course be if you just shared the map file on any free file hosting site.
If your map size is 90×90, no wonder it's crashing the game O_o.
Is the game throwing out any specific error message for you?
Have you tried running the map on Remastered or just regular Brood War 1.16?
And I think you can safely drop all that apologetic bullshit from your posts. That's just really awkward to have to read through.

As Freakling (master mapmaker) said, the map size is probably what's causing this.

Try adjusting the size to 96 x 96 (nearest standard size) and see if that works.
Good luck, Gil.

Thanks JungleTerrain & Gillias. I appreciate you being polite. The original map size was 128 x 128 and also won't launch at that size (which is why I tried to change it). I just downloaded a recent free version of Starcraft with the expansion so I can select maps in general for a custom game. The game says it's version 1.23.3.7202. It does shoot out like a reference code called a 'Report I.D.' for Blizzard upon crashing: 89355C53-9FA2-4D9A-AC3F-BAFD2B165796. Thanks to everyone for the thoughtful/pertinent responses. It seems you are right, it's be wiser to start over small than to try to rescue this. I'll scrap it for now.
And just right at the end of the unaddressed post (but thankfully without a snide smiley emoji to make it nastier) - thanks to the 'master mapmaker' for illustrating exactly the reason I wrote such apparently necessary bullshit in the first place. Just keep making people regret joining and asking for help with your little stinger at the end, for no reason, because you are just one of those. I think 'you can safely drop that bullshit', yourself. It's just really awkward to have to see it there, as you put it. If that's how you communicate, then please don't bother.

Imagine talking like a pseud on an internet forum and getting bothered by someone telling you to cut out the pompous fluff.

Oh, you must be the friendly neighborhood psych major here to save the day, and add a new insult. Much appreciated. I just didn't come on here to get cursed at. But you will all cover for each other regardless. The issue is done; map scrapped so we don't need this open anymore and I never should have asked to begin with. Learned my lesson (again) to avoid game forums. Thanks! It's been such a pleasure.
