NPR covered it this morning. The article in the New Yorker references is, though it isn’t expressly clear that former classmates were discussing Kavanaughs behavior at school before any allegations came out.

Well, here's what Ronan had to say in an interview of Stephanopolos: STEPHANOPOLOS: “This jumped out at me. You said at first she wasn’t sure if this was Kavanaugh last week, and you write after six days of carefully assessing her memories and consulting with her attorneys she did become confident that it was him.” FARROW: “And I would say that’s extremely typical with these stories when you are dealing with drama and alcohol. The more caution that I have dealt with in cases like this frequently say, I want to take time and search myself and make sure that I can affirmatively stand by these claims in the face of what she knew would be a crucible of partisan pushback which is what she is receiving now.” STEPHANOPOLOS: “Why did she come forward?” FARROW: “She came forward because Senate Democrats came looking for this claim. She did not flag this. This came to the attention of people on the hill independently, and it has co cornered her into an awkward position. She said, point-blank, I don’t want to ruin anyone’s life, but she feels this is a serious claim. She considers her own memories credible and she felt it was important to tell her own story before others did for her.” Source. Not necessarily inconsistent, but we'll see.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is resigning, according to Axios, which cited a source familiar with the matter. "He's expecting to be fired," a source close to Rosenstein told Axios, the website reported Monday. He plans to step down, Axios reported. Rosenstein's expected resignation will immediately raise questions about the fate of the ongoing investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller, who is probing Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, and possible obstruction of justice by President Donald Trump. Rosenstein just resigned in light of allegations of sedition, and that's before we have seen the FISA application that he signed off on that's about to be released or considered how the DOJ has been stonewalling congressional oversight on all of this stuff. There is a huge cloud of corruption hanging over the DOJ right now. There is only one kind of person that Sessions will appoint in these circumstances: an inquisitor. And while I have no doubt that that there are plenty of career DOJ people who are honorable and disgusted with what they have seen from their superiors, the smart money is on Sessions bringing in an outsider. EDIT: Actually, it looks like Trump gets to appoint Rosenstein's temporary successor for up to 210 days. So yeah, expect an inquisitor.

Your conspiracy theories about the FISA warrant and whatever don’t have much barring on reality. It's not a conspiracy theory at all. It's been reported on extensively by Sara Carter and John Solomon (and others). This has been all out there for people to see for months. Just because the likes of NYT and NPR won't touch it for political reasons doesn't make it a conspiracy theory.

Whether he resigns now or resigns later is really bedsides the point. The FISA application declassification order put an expiration date on Rosenstein. The NYT article from Friday makes also it impossible for him to remain in his current capacity much longer.

The DOJ and NSA has already agreed upon releasing a redacted copy of the fire before Trumps order. His order effectively required them to release an unredacted copy. He then walked it back, agreeing to go with their input, effective restoring the status quo from before his order. This accurately sums up the reporting today.

The source of the stories reporting Trump walking back the order was Trump's tweets on Friday regarding the same. But those tweets merely say that Trump is going to indulge inspector general reviewing everything on an expedited basis. This stuff is coming out.

That's what happens when "news" agencies want to be first more than they want to be accurate.
