Hmm I would be very surprised if it were to be held any place other than Korea. I don't think they could get the sponsership to make it such a big event as they can there. Plus, it is the only place I can think of where you can actually get a hug crowd to show up and watch. Might be a while before they can hold it anywhere else

Hahah yeah it'd be awesome if they could hold it here. However, I don't think the farmers would be all worked up tho, despite all our (mine, Drone's and Eri's) efforts.

NOrway!! Hilbillie-sc ownz!

Easy, when entering the large, spiffed up wcg barn, everybody is handed a titanium club by the bearded man @ the entrance. So if any norwegian is supposedly losing, the crowd goes mad and hits opponents. GG BOXER~~

hOlland would be a better plan than kOrea. It is kinda newbish to do b/o 1 after the poules. At our WCG they did b/o 3 and finals b/o 5. Especially when the maps are this imbalanced you should play more games.

It will be absolutely the same-Daejon,same village, same expo park . They're making it so because its the cheapest way,in the next year it might be either in Italy or Australia i think,it may be in Korea again though.
MadFrog : In my opinion, the biggest reason why WC3 is dying is because it is not such a great game as Brood War is.

i heard rumors that they were thinking about moving it, but yea i don't really see that too likely. The main audience is already in korea, and u can't pack a stadium in any other country just to watch video games . It takes ALOT of money to run that, and they already have the facilities and the means to do it. Just seems likely to continue having it in Korea, i think the prelims will get better every year though, and perhaps after a few more years they will discover that it's more important to bring the world's best talent to korea, instead of just weird countrie's representatives. Like host a regional prelim or something, where u can send multiple people per country if they qualifiy.

Candidates for WCG 2003 are Germany and Australia. This years WCG Germany was at a Game Expo which got 80.000 visitors. Way more than the main event in Korea had (true not all of them go there for the WCG, but they do stop by). Of course not as much media there as there was in Korea, not even close, but still.

A nice idea for the representatives would be each European country sending their top 4 players to a European championship where all the players together will fight for a certain amount of tickets. This way better countries get to send 3 or maybe 4 players and the lesser will send maybe 0 or 1. This idea actually comes from someone high in WCG, but is just an idea so far and will not take place for the next couple of years for sure. He's got my support for sure

sounds like a smart man , 80,000?! nice. Sounds like germany is a definate candidate. I think there would be a larger showing as well from gamers, both participation and audience, just from the geography and the concentration of people/gamers/enthusiest in the area. And we all know german is easier to learn than korean ~ (but i think the korean girls are cutier )

Hey, speaking about attendence, how was it at WCG 2002 this year? I know they had 15,000(as was reported by Mensrea) for the last OGN final. Were there comparable numbers at WCG 2002 this year? More? Less? Just wondering. Thanks ^_^

why did WCG allow the 'critters' on the maps of the WCG games? it seemed to be an unnecessary thing for professionals to have to deal with. i understand that it shouldnt be a big deal to players of that caliber but it seemed to me to be wrong.
