Today marks the start of FACEIT's $275,000 league for 2015. The league will be split between three stages over the period of nine months. The first and second stages will conclude with LAN events and decide which teams will continue to the next stage, while the third stage will culminate in the Grand Finals event. The European, North American and Oceanic leagues will be running in parallel, with teams from each of the regions earning invites to the LAN events, featuring a total of eight teams at each. The available seats in each LAN event will be split between the top five teams of Europe, the top two of North America and the winner of the Oceanic League.
The 2015 League also features an improved promotion/demotion system. At the end of Stage 1 and 2, each region’s two bottom teams will be demoted to closed qualifiers for the next stage. The closed qualifiers will include invited teams and qualified community challengers that made it through open qualifier matches and satellite events hosted on FACEIT.com on a weekly basis.

Teams from Europe and North America will face each team in their region twice, playing a home and away match. The away team drops two maps from the map pool (Cache, Cobblestone, Dust 2, Inferno, Mirage, Nuke and Overpass), with the home team picking a map from the remaining five. Oceanic teams play each other once this stage with a standard map picking system.
Additionally, over the coming period, FACEIT will be hosting weekly qualifiers for each region. The winners of each qualifier will be joined by the bottom two of each League to play for a spot in Stage 2.
