Hello dear BW community, My name is as you can see „Pharaphobia“(before somebody asks, it means „Fear of Myself“ and I’m casual streamer/caster for Czech StarCraft audience. However with my fulltime job I felt like I want to support StarCraft scenes (both BW,SC2) with few fun cups with small reward. The thing I’m like D+ player, who watched tons of VODS so I have few questions, because I know that few guys from here like to stream aswell! So here are my questions:
1.) Can we broadcast BW games live with a delay by OBS?(Open Broadcast Software) Since I saw that few guys has been broadcasted from replay which I don’t want. 2.) I saw that one korea stream used some kind of widescreen Brood War which would be so awesome!
3.) Are there enough High Ranked players to fullfill RO16 cup?
4.) Is there somebody willing to cast this with me so it wont look like a dumb guy talking nonsence about factories being builded right now? Hehe x)
1.) I would love to prefer OBS since I have prepared special graphics for BW 2.) o.o I never used a hack T_T! Will it be allowed on iCCup? 3.) Awesome 4.) Isn't he a player o.O?
There are a couple of reasons, why most casters do replay instead of live commentary. First there is no downtime in between the games, where an opponent is not ready yet. You also cannot cast every game if they are played simultaneously. Not playing complete stages simultaneously means much more organizational effort. Live casting also means higher chances for lag.
So it doesn't matter if it will be EU cup with EU players, because there is still a chance for lags? Well I have some exp with RO16 Torunament and it can clearly be "One evening show "!

btw:
1) you can stream BW with OBS, however it's not easy. You need to try some stuff to get it going properly. Search for the OBS Streaming plugin by R1CH.
2) No, you won't get banned, admins on ICC will know you use it to stream i believe.
3) yes, more than enough. Some of these don't play without attractive prizes

There are few ppl who hates me alot so they probably made a fake account... I would not be suprised, because I could not use Pharaphobia while I tryed to reg an account. Thats I have been using SC2 on the end for a while ! Sorry for the problems tho.. T_T but you know haters.. :E

1) I don't think there's a delay option, but I'm not a streamer 2) no, definitely not if you play. Just for obs - no idea. Might be you can't activate LanLat, hence rep cast 3) totally 4) yes. doesn't stop anyone, yoda plays/casts simultaneously too
Well there you go then, it's been here before. It worked but there were some delays and iirc the finals had to be done from replays anyway. I would only recommend live games streaming if there's enough games to cast, so in case one doesn't work out you can go jump into a different one.

Actually I think the more important reason is that lots of BW players are adults with jobs, and it's really hard to coordinate a live cast.
Sonic does his casts live, but all his players basically do afreeca full time and live in the same time zone, soooo... way easier. Foreign community is often split apart by huge time zone differences, real life commitments, and the like.
I would keep your expectations fairly low if I were you.

Jobs! We shouldn't be required to have them if we support Brood War.
OBS has a delay system. Very easy to use. If you can't figure it out just give another post here or use TL's awesome Tech forum section. The people there answer all questions with clarity.
Don't worry about feeling stupid and have fun. I'm sorry I can't offer to co-cast. I won't be returning until January and will only be doing Korean casts.
1) Yes you can cast with delay, however coordinating the players is more difficult than setting up the delay in OBS.
2) There is a widescreen resolution hack (using the actual definition of hack, not a bad thing), however it will not be compatible with ICCup Lan Latency, so again would be easier to implement from replay than live.
3) There are plenty of high ranked players available, depending on the tournament format and prizepool you will attract a slightly different crowd.
4) There are a variety of foreign casters such as L_Master, Ninazerg, Sayle, Elegant and players who cast such as Eonzerg and others, who may participate with you if you talk to them. I'd also offer to cast if the timing is viable, but I am also busy until mid January.

It's also pretty impressive that they got your style of English writing down so well so that they even got your mannerisms down, and knew you were from the Czech Republic. What confuses me is why, as a method of discrediting you, they would just post randomly on TL like a normal person who occasionally crosses the line with passive-aggressive humor. I'm not an expert on Czech culture, so this kind of behavior might be seen as the ultimate disgrace. I dunno. What did you do to get them to hate you so much that they stalk you and learn to mimic you almost exactly?

come on let's cut the crap. it's most likely him and he has matured now and acknowledged that BW is the best game in the history of the multiverses and he was only agressive in tzhe first place, coz he didn't want to admit it. No Seriously, is this worth a drama thread? I think no.
