As John Stewart said "They claimed government is bad and doomed to fail to get elected, and then they made government fail."
The Britain First he's retweeting are actual neo-Nazis. Like actual "walk through the street to get rid of foreign filth" fascists.
If there was any doubt that Donald Trump finds comfort in the company of fascists, this should remove that doubt.

Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., questioning her claim that she’s part Native American and calling her “Pocahontas.”

Trump made his remarks standing beneath a portrait of Andrew Jackson, whose military campaigns against Native American tribes in the early 1800s earned him the nickname “Indian Killer.” www.yahoo.com We're at the stage where mocking a white liberal woman who falsely claimed she was native american is worse than said woman lying about her heritage to enhance her career prospects. Heck i even recall segments of the MSM defending Rachel Dolezal a few years back. It's a strange world these days.
No one said one was worse than the other.
Here's an idea, Why don't you get a bunch of people together (like say a bunch of women) then start using some of the most offensive words and stereotypical statements you can about some really despicable women (like Rachel Dolezal because you brought her up) and see how much your audience cares about who is the worse person and how much they just focus on how terrible you are being right then.

Are optics really relevant when a good number of the country sees no problem with fascism if it keeps the democratic party out of power? Alabama is showing right now that it has no problem supporting a man who chased after pubescent girls to the point he was known by retail staff and the police as a creep that had to be watched at all times.
This thread is proof enough that you have people who still believe Donald Trump to be a president worthy of "unity".

In their minds it's a choice between someone who supports the mass murder of babies and someone who might diddle them as teenagers. From that perspective the "lesser evil" argument is pretty straightforward.
In the case of Trump it's basically the same thing. The choice is pretty much always between mass baby murderer and whatever trash Republicans come up with. If their trash is less bad than "wants to murder millions of babies", again, the lesser evil argument is pretty straightforward.
You can replace "murder babies" with "communist death camps", "disarm the public in preparation of fascism", or whatever and pretty much cover the entire party.

Lets provoke a little bit:
You can see the downfall of amerika not only in the president they chose, but also in in the way the opposition deals with it. This thread is a nice example of this, there are still some interesting discussions now and then but halve the content is "trump did this trump did that trump is an idiot trump voters are Nazi,s trump voters are idiots, and so on" It is kinda interesting to see from an outside perspective.
The world needs a new leader,if usa doesn't up their game then china wont mind taking the spot.

that's a pretty weak provocation, we have much better trolls in the thread the opposition method of dealing with it is imperfect, but passable. and at any rate, compared to the ridiculousness the republicans are doing, the dems come out looking like angels. the right went super crazy, and that's all on them.
it's also objectively true that a lot of trump votes are idiotic. and poor discussion quality is more a result of it being the internet than anything else.
why does the world need a leader at all? I don't see any reason why the world needs a leader.
part of the US is trying to up its game, but it's the republicans who're blocking it; only so much to be done when one side insists on dragging you down.

It was basically a rhetorical question but thanks for the response.
The few cultural issues like guns and abortion are so frequently enough for certain candidates to hold their position that it isn't a surprise that America is full of really, really terrible politicians. The world also has terrible politicians but they're typically competent at something. The United States is one of the few places where a large number of really worthless and horrible people get elected and keep getting elected.
In a sane world, someone like Mary Fallin wouldn't be in power but I guess people in Oklahoma can do without basic education.

Trump seems especially senile/delusional/racist today. Curious if he knows more about Flynn's betrayal than us, or perhaps some other Mueller news.

Matt Lauer is red meat for him. Sexual misconduct by a fake news organization? The script writes itself.
Maybe the rest means Flynn has evidence for a big story that could break any moment. I think it’s too early to distract from a coming tax bill failure.

The Bush administration was such a markedly different time culturally, I remember coming home and turning on late night shows, it's hard to even remember their names now because it feels so long ago, like SNL and The Daily Show, now that was a Republican president they really admired. Is there ANY reason to remember the Bush 2 presidency as positive aside from "he's no democrat"? The guy has basically 9/11, the housing bubble, 2 wars and the total errosion of the USA's image in the rest of the world to answer for... Does he actually have a single major achievment (not even asking for a clearly positive one here? I googled it for 2-3 minutes and i couldn't find a single major one. Bush also fucked the Kyoto Agreement, if I recall correctly.

Opposition to Obama on policy was called racist. Then you got somebody that doesn’t flee from the term. He didn’t moderate his agenda in the face of legislative backlash, but used executive orders. Trump can’t do jack in terms of legislation, but has signed executive orders making the first dents in the regulatory state for a generation. Obama embraced minority+women identity politics (particularly in the second term), Trump embraces white identity politics. Obama represented the liberal ideal of right side of history/March of progress, and Trump was the greatest repudiation of the leftist vision possible. Obama exploited and grew the cracks in American society for political gain, and Trump capitalized on them.
I wanted a less fitting successor (primary process), but one better for my agenda, and thought Trump couldn’t win.

I love this alternative history where criticisms of Obama was considered racist across the board. Fictional grievance drive the narrative.

and sincerely, this is the best possible outcome you think? imo that’s very embarrassing.
best outcome would’ve been maybe a president with enough integrity to have american identity politics. and again, you know, qualified, at a minimum. we could ask for more too, but apparently we are setting our bar low enough to trip over. to call that ‘best’? hah.
i hate actually saying this because it’s already been said a dozen times, but the only way your post makes any sense as a real belief is starting with the position of being totally drowning in white grievance. that your definition of ‘best’ is ‘taking back the country from minorities and women’ has just got to be a joke. ur trolllin me. fk you got me.

No slippery slope to be seen here, the president is just spreading some good ol' American honesty. Best to move on to the real dangers like people shrouding statues because they want to erase history.
