The NHS is in the process of imploding. Please, do tell Brits, how it's done.

Does the government ever collect an easy to look through list of all the things they're working on and what their plans are to fix it? like in short summary form? focusing on the complaints people generally have? like - jobs for rural areas, and then it has a few lines saying what they're doing, and has links for more info?
figuring out how to solve problems is so much more fun than the work of actually getting such things passed into law imho.

For more than two hours, the speaker laid out his alternative to Trump’s plan to slap tariffs on companies that move jobs overseas, which he believed would encourage companies to stay in the U.S.
But not even a week later, Trump dismissed Ryan’s idea, calling it “too complicated.” And now Ryan is left with a potential trillion-dollar hole in his tax plan. .
Of all the reasons to dismiss a trillion dollar tax plan months in the making, this is really funny to me. Ryan isn't going to get to pass the tax or healthcare reform that he wants. He's gotta be fuming over having to deal with Trump.

Yeah, some industries in China will move on. In fact, some already have. But if you think China could possibly worse off than before embracing globalization you are delusional. China has changed dramatically as a result, it's mind-blowing.
For example, the cement production capability of China is now greater than that of the rest of the world combined. In 1970 it made up only 1.5%. And the world's production capability has grown a lot since 1970.
That's some concrete wealth that won't just go away.

You're aware Milo is a self hating gay right? He believes being gay is inherently worse, he wishes he wasn't gay. Gays can hate gays, blacks can hate blacks, we've been over this a hundred thousand times here.

If we've learned nothing else, it's that the regressive Left is totalitarian and fascist in its desire to control the message and in its intolerance of dissent. Milo's gone off the reservation, and they're throwing a temper tantrum because there's nothing that they can do about it. It's the same deal with the "mediocre negroes" quote from Marc Lamont Hill that I cited a few pages back. The regressive left has this sense of entitlement to being the gatekeepers of all things pertaining to minorities, and anyone who strays off message is treated as a heretic.

The long and short of it is that people like xDaunt, call them what you will, are fans of counter-identitarian demagoguery because it makes them feel better about the very negative feelings they harbor towards large, nebulous conceptualized movements like "the Civil Rights Movement" and "the regressive left." When a gay man like Milo stands up and says faggot a ton of times while calling out other gay men who have shown up to argue with him, it becomes easier for straight men who believe mainstream LGBTQ thought to be full of "contradictions and insanity" to come to terms with their otherwise extremely unpopular beliefs (or perhaps we should call them heretical, as xDaunt suggests).
The same thing rings true with xDaunt's continued gesticulation towards a black man calling another black man a bad negro, though this phenomenon is already well understood. In any case, I'm glad that Dave Chappelle is coming back

I don't get how being an asshole to various groups, rather than learning to stfu when you don't like someone on a superficial level, is a cause worth championing. You have it backwards. People like me don't wake up in the morning looking for opportunities to be a dick to various minorities. We'd rather just be left alone. However, various elements of the regressive left won't afford us that opportunity. They have an agenda to push. And for as much as I may agree or disagree with various elements of the agenda, what I particularly object to is the manner in which it's pushed.

I doubt we see eye-to-eye on many things but I have to agree with you, at least partially. Forcing Christians to make wedding cakes for gay people, and forcing the (Roman Catholic) Little Sisters of the Poor to provide birth control really opened my eyes up to the socially left-wing. They're not at all about tolerance or acceptance.

Perhaps the best one is BLM, where the argument from the Left is basically "it's okay for black people to riot and break shit because they're not going to be able to get the attention of anyone through peaceful means." That's a pretty fucked message if you ask me.

I've never watched a Milo video because he seems like a complete clown, but people like him wouldn't have a platform if today's left was a little less insane.
Would be so nice if outrage could be reserved for when something is truly fucked up instead of being the default reaction.
I would categorize myself as fairly left wing btw... it's kinda frustrating to watch these people shoot themselves in the foot over and over.

Trump is not 'a stupid guy who said some mean things'. I don't think he's stupid (ignorant is a different discussion), and I don't care too much about him saying 'mean things' - although I think he has already succeeded in corrupting political discourse in a way that'll be hard to revert. I just don't believe he is remotely competent for the role of president - I genuinely believe that he will do a worse job than what a completely average and random person would do.
I'm not gonna defend China too much here, but if you compare China in 1970 with China today, it seems quite evident that politically, they've gotten some things right. I'm even inclined to argue that the type of sudden economic upheaval they've experienced can't happen without breaking some eggs. Even though there are many aspects of Chinese political society that can rightfully be criticized, they've experienced a rapid societal and economic development which to me indicates that their leadership over the past decades has been majorly competent if nothing else. Trump gives me no such confidence.

Please move to China and have three babies and tell me how that works out for you. You're literally comparing a corrupt/incompetent politician with a political party that's murdered tens of thousands, and you think it's apt?
