Ted Cruz still my hero ^^
Is there no one left in either party but him who has any balls literally or metaphorically
Trump and Hillary are both bad people and bad candidates and either one will be bad president but no one in their own parties dare say it anymore
Except my man Teddy

Can't tell if sarcasm or not.
Ted Cruz is literally the most disliked politician in Washington with people who are at least vaguely informed in who exists.

Except my man Teddy Can't tell if sarcasm or not. Ted Cruz is literally the most disliked politician in Washington with people who are at least vaguely informed in who exists. As must as I dislike Trump, Cruz scares me a lot more. The stories of him waiting after hours in as a clerk for the Supreme Court just to deny death sentence appeals are chilling. There is literally no one who has worked with him who likes him. And I do believe he would say and do anything to get elected/obtain power.

Cruz is far, far worse than Trump. The only reason people don't talk about him is because he wasn't the frontrunner so his weaknesses were not as strongly on display for everyone to see. The "Lyin Ted" label was more than enough to take him down.

cruz scares me because he is smart, ambitious and relentless. i can also respect him (grudgingly) for it when he demonstrates those qualities in a way that isn't opposed to my values, like not endorsing someone who insulted his wife and father.

This has literally nothing to do with what I said. His not being liked has nothing to do with him being the last person left in either party willing to say that their candidate is a shitshow.

I would have done the same. The death penalty appeals he denied were for people who had done some extremely horrific things to other people. Kidnapping, rape, then murder, torture, then murder, murdering families, the gamut of the worst things humans can do to other humans. Now I understand some people don't care about that, but at least Cruz still does. Some people put themselves entirely outside of human civilization through their actions and do not deserve to live anymore, if I believe that a person has done that I wouldn't do anything to potentially help save them either no matter what it made people think about me.
Also don't care how much he is disliked, somehow he was still the only person able to fight back against Trump effectively even if it was for only about two weeks. That speaks to a certain competence and fortitude in the man that rises above career politicians and bureaucrats not liking him. Not sure how "all of these corrupt poll slaves that 70% of the populace hates, none of them likes you!" is an effective attack against the man *shrug*
We have two examples of people who would say and do anything to get elected, they are the nominees for the Republican and Democratic parties. Cruz didn't get the nomination so I'd say he didn't do or say anything to get elected to the nomination. He didn't suggest Trump is maybe responsible for mob murders because some guy told him Trump had connections to the mob the way Trump said Ted Cruz's father was maybe responsible for killing JFK because some guy told him he was *connected* to Oswald. Maybe Cruz should have confirmed your suspicion, maybe then we wouldn't have Trump.

Cruz is one of those candidates that has a super loyal core but has virtually no appeal outside of that core.
Which is more than I can say for every other candidate in the Republican race except Trump, mind you.
|
deepelem, you're just plain wrong. plenty of people in both parties (moreso in republican of course) have said there are serious flaws with their candidates.
|
I'm hard pressed to believe Cruz is worse than Trump - or really that any actual politician is worse than Trump. Trump is clueless, unprepared and petty. He's almost a wash as a candidate, substantively. He would be absolutely dependent on those around him, and has not demonstrated an ability to build a highly competent apparatus around him. At least Ted Cruz has a bit of competence within government.

Cruz took politics way too personally, and I think that's a big weakness of a candidate. Donald Trump will relentlessly attack someone to win, but he shrugs it off, it's nothing personal, just business.
He has made it clear he doesn't agree with Trump, but either way, comes November, it's Trump or Hillary... And as a Cruz supporter, you really should find a lot more comfort in Trump than Hillary, so you've got to stop being stubborn instead of just handing over votes to Hillary if you're so against her. We all know we don't have the best candidates, partly due to who was running on the Democratic side, and party due to voters jumping on the Trump train... Because fuck Washington apparently.
Either way, if you're a fiscal conservative, and centrist/mildly-progressive when it comes to social policy, at least the ideas of Trump are what's the most logical to side with imo. Saying otherwise, I think you haven't taken a proper look and might be reading a lot of liberal media, or are too bothered by his vulgarity and his silly antics (which is fair).

We'll hold you to that prediction. Saying you "know something" is meaningless. Either say what you are predicting, or stop with the pretentious nonsense. Bernie endorsed Clinton, something you insisted would never happen. It was a great endorsement at that. It's been confirmed by the delegations that Bernie was told if he didn't "endorse" he wouldn't be invited to speak at the convention and his delegates might not be allowed to participate either. That would include getting his folks on the platform committee and such I'm not spilling the beans on the plan on the off chance it gets back to HillaryCo. It should just be pretty clear the party isn't as united as people would like to project. My prediction was that if people think the DNC convention is going to be an example of party unity, they are going to be disappointed.
I can't believe you think you would know things the Clinton camp doesn't. I guarantee you that there are multiple people who are purely tasked with issues like that. Political spy networks are strong and really good at what they do.

Cruz is a religious homophobic lunatic, him sharing the stage and shaking hands with Kevin Swanson at an anti gay rally was enough to show you what kind of person he is.

Wait.... lemme get this straight...
You have some insider info that you are reluctant to post on a internet forum because it might "gets back to HillaryCo"...?

Well, it all depends on how sinister / evil you think Cruz is. It's better to have someone evil an incompetent than evil and competent I suppose.

The ideas of Trump? His tax plan is about as viable as biblical tithing.

But they had nothing nice to say about Cruz. Even the conservative clerks.

His tax plan is about as viable as biblical tithing. In what sense is Biblical tithing not viable? Within the church it has worked up until the present day. Of course it's not intended to run a modern state government, only the Jewish priesthood later church leadership and/or missionaries, but that's a different matter.

Flat % of income disproportionately affects lower income people who have less discretionary income

That is what I mean by what do you mean Biblical tithing is not viable- when applied to government, then yes, but within the church, then no. But it was a blanket declaration "it is not viable" rather than qualifying what was meant by that.
